Oh, that's probably helpful. Mostly in the mountains - it won't load and SMAPI will go mad with that error toward the end. I try to skip the event or stop it w/ commands and it doesn't stop. That time, It actually got further in to the Sterling event on the tracks, but cut out halfway through. it was also morning time. but I allready checked and it's not an ES or ARV thing.
i see theres a an issue with the content json. 3 being a number instead of string. could try to change that and test it again?
not entirely sure how to help here, imma be honest. you can wait a while, but if it's a sterling issue, maybe you can try the es server?
not sure at all. but the warnings before the errors say "could not find a Cue with the name "cm:musicTrain". See logs for details." Since the error below looks like its related to loading a music file your issue is probably related to the game not being able to find sounds
I tried out there too but it happened once with a Sam CS so it through me through a loop there. As for the music files, I'm not even sure how to restore them
Try validating the files through steam (or whatever you use) and see if it fixes it

when I install SMAPI 3.17.2 with Stardew Valley on Steam (Build 8043676) and windows 11, no other mods installed yet, Just SMAPI, if I try to donate something to the museum, the mouse stops moving the cursor and I get frozen on this screen.
Go to the options menu and turn gamepad mode to either force off (if you're using a keyboard and mouse) or force on (if you are using controller)
Looks to me like you have both ridgeside and the mobile version of ridgeside installed?

I accidentally deleted where I asked if anything might explain why SMAPI stops responding on startup or load. I just used the tool on the website to follow its instructions and disabled the mobile Ridgeside. Fingers crossed

We do have a piracy rule here and people have the right to not help those with a pirated copy of the game, since the issue arising may be caused by the copy being a pirated one. Unfortunately, the best advice I can give is probably get the game legitimately and ask again if the problem persists.

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me.
I have a problem with Content Patcher Animations; I updated my mods a few months ago, and since then, the icons are all frozen, no more animation.
My mods are up to date, whether it's CP, CP-A or the animation mods, same for Smapi; the icons are fixed, but the first animation image is displayed. (For example, you can see the drops on the Soggy Newspaper.)
SMAPI does not display any error.
Does anyone have an idea, please?

As long as you don't save and have error handler, it shouldn't ruin any data. You might want to send a log too, in case we can help figure that one out

Hmmmmm. My prevailing theory here is it's to do with your PlatoTK error since SpaceCore's update broke it and Platonymous would have to update PlatoTK to fix that error
Casey (spacechase) authors SpaceCore and Content Patcher Animations
so my guess is if you disable PlatoTK, it might work correctly.
Nop. I removed PlatoTK from my mods folder, ran the game, and no animation alas.

So it's not just you and so it'd probably be of interest to casey to either figure out the conflicting mod or, if no conflicts and it's just a bug, reproducing the bug and figuring out the solution so a patch can be put out

Question: if you have UI Info Suite 2 is it necessary to have the CJB Item Sell Price mod? What about the see label mod (canβt remember the name)

from what i remember, ui info suite doesn't have the item sell price label, so you can absolutely have both
as for crop labels, that one you probably don't need since ui info does have its own labels

i've tried what i can but i just can't seem to get smapi to install or even respond/work..is there anywhere else but here that i can get help with it? i can't even get an error message to pop up when i use the files, and i'm starting to think a manual install is needed

I finished the Community Center so Morris is no longer in the town
I use SVE and NPC Adventure for SVE, now after Morris left it SMAPI throws errors saying that his NPC Adventure file does not match any NPC in the game.
Anyone know if that is normal and can be ignored safely?
probably normal, someone recently asked that question regarding another npc in the ES discord and the mod maker responded "this is normal when the mod tries to find an npc that doesn't exist"

i think empty folders can usually just be fixed by a redownload. kind of tired, not braining. not sure what you had, nix (is that an okay nickname?), but if it is similar you can definitely help them :)
(I don't think that's jade's primary issue here, as it appears she tried to filter the error by selecting game--this likely doesn't filter on mobile)

HD portraits template isn't loading because I don't have all those mods and I'm too lazy to delete these lines from the content.json
it looks like there might be a More Giant Crops / Giant Crops Tweak issue. but I'm not familiar with this error unfortunately

I forgot exactly what causes that error but I think it's something that has to do with a tilesheet of zero width being loaded
(MGC/GiantCropTweaks work together for me)

so, the update with this, the single player works. I played a day with no crashes. But the last time I played, it went two days before crashing even after reinstalling the ridgeside mod (the crashes started the day after I installed this mod). I usually play local multiplayer as well. I'm trying to figure out if it's a split screen specific issue
so I think you maybe need to start from scratch since there's sooooo many errors here unfortunately xD It's a combination of having multiple copies of mods installed, dependencies being missing, some mods seem to have been tossed into the Mods folder but don't have a folder of their own so they're being ignored, and you have a lot of xnb mods in the folder which 1) you should avoid, and 2) SMAPI won't read them anyway
(also Natural Color Reshade isn't a mod in the way the other mods are and has very unique instructions on the mod page)
I would say add your mods back in little by little so you can focus on the errors you're getting one at a time. In most cases, the error is explained pretty clearly but there's just sooo many of them, I imagine it's pretty overwhelming

for clarity sake. delete the CJB mod folder you dropped into the mods folder.

download a fresh copy from the nexus page. then rightclick the folder and click extract all.

i haven't added anymore mods that add NPC's and in my older savefile i didn't encounter this issue. also NPC's that you can meet later on (such as wizard or lexi for example) don't count for this quest. I'll check that

lets say that you find a mod that adds a customized room
so for that mod to work, you need this or another framework that modifies the game in some way that adding new custom rooms is possible

If you want to change the position of the spouse room you need to change the X and Y of startpos in the Config, it corresponces with the upper left corner of the room. However if you use a Mod like FreeLove the Rooms will simply appear next to each other. It's not really needed to move the rooms yourself.

You need to test it out. The higher the number the farther it's away from the original position so start with low numbers like 1, 2, 3 until you figure it out

Maybe it's vortex messing your smapi. Can you try launch StardewModdingAPI.exe straight from inside the game folder?

So I joined the server cause Iβm facing an issue with Willy and Ginger island. I am on year two playing a modded SMAPI gameplay and up until now Iβve not had any issues, however I completed the community center a week ago in game and still havenβt received his letter inviting me to fix the boat. Iβm updated on both SMAPI and all my mods so I have no idea why I canβt seem to get the letter, Iβm thinking maybe itβs because of the mods but Iβm not sure- any advice?

so when i play stardew and i maximize the tab it keeps glitching and the screen keeps moving weirdly and i asked for help on this before and they told me to go to settings and change the compatibility so i did and it worked for a little but then i tried running it the next day and it just wouldnt start the game...so i changed it back and it launches but the screen is now still like glitchy and weird and i tried to switch the compatibility while in the game but it didnt work. also whenever i try going in full screen its fine when im in the loading screen but when i try to load a world in full screen it never works it gives me this prompt

Generic Mod Config Menu (or GMCM https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098) adds the option to edit some, but not all, mod configs from either the title screen or the options page in a save. It also has a special screen to edit keybinds for all mods with GMCM integration.
The presence of the gear it adds to the title screen is not a method for checking whether mods are installed, only whether GMCM is installed.

Heya, using automate on the Immersive Farm 2 with SVE. For some reason automate doesn't work inside the mushroom cave properly. harvests mushrooms about 1/4 times I go in there and my preserve jars sometimes won't pull materials from chest or pull completed product out of jars. I got lots of other mods I can get a whole list of, but Walk of Life is probably the only other one impacting them. Anybody got a common solution for this? Tried moving automate to last in load order by putting a space at the start. This is on the steam deck.

Did all that as well (same advice was given yesterday and I followed it all) I've just completely removed mods, uninstalled SMAPI and SDV and rebooted computer, now letting Steam reinstall because this happens pretty much any time I have to update a mod (or sometimes with no changes at all)
I would check to make sure smapi isn't quarantined by your antivirus
That will slow things to a crawl
If it's intermittent, I'd suspect it's not inherent to SMAPI

Yeah, Stardew Realty adds locations too late in the process (SaveLoaded event) for JA to catch them.
It'd need to add them at LoadStageChanged -> SaveAddedLocations/CreatedInitialLocations like CP/MoonMisadventures/etc. do

I'm still trying to figure out an issue and I haven't made much success yet. I'm using a custom farm and I have 3 different mods that add things to the farmhouse.
A cellar mod with a greenhouse. A bathroom mod in the upper east corner. And a mod that adds mini greenhouse to the southern room.
I cannot seem to change the wallpaper or flooring in the southern room. When I use wallpapers and flooring, they are absorbed but do not change. I tried changing it through Alternative Textures too. The changes are absorbed as well.
I tried using the Lookup Anything mod to peer at the tile information, but I'm not versed in mod-creation, so I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. I've tried renaming the folder to load it in different positions in the Mods folder, but there appears to be no change.
Anyone have any ideas? π€
Probably mini greenhouse southern room didnβt set the properties right for allowing flooring or wallpaper, unless it works by itself for that
If it works by itself then probably the properties are overwriting each other
The author says they had no problem changing it in their game and there must be a mod that's conflicting with it.. Not sure if the tile info would be helpful.

@true junco a few versions back SMAPI underwent a change in its DPI awareness settings so that the modded game would match vanilla and wouldn't be overly zoomed in for some people. Unfortunately for some of us, this had the opposite effect b/c of our computer settings. There's no real fix for it but you can zoom in both your game and UI

I ended up having to zoom both to ~150% but it varies depending on your computer settings.

Oh! That's easy! In the starting screen with the "new game" "continue" buttons, if you look to the upper right you'll see an orange square. Click on it and you can zoom in and zoom out your screen if that makes sense.

I'm using Shop Tile Framework and trying to tweak a shop mod to set up an item to be sold at Joja Mart in just one day of the week (Friday). Just one in stock each week, and in other days of the week there should be another items being sold (again, just one in just one day of the week).
I managed to make the items to be sold at the Joja Mart. Just one in stock of each, as I wanted (however, dunno if the store restocks this single item if bought, if restocks for the next week). Tested this with vanilla items and custom itens, apparently is working.
But no matter what I do, the items appear being sold every day or not appearing at all. Can't make them being sold in just one day of the week.
So...what instruction should I write on the mod to make this work? (tried put on shops.json "d mon/d tue/..." etc and "!d fri" and didn't worked: the first seems to be ignored by the game and the items appear being sold everyday. The second makes the items disappear from the store).

I think it was the TMXL as itβs a global mod. Right ? Where as things in Cp AT (based on cosmetics) are local I didnβt have a problem until I wanted to build more green houses for various wines and stuff. If my partner added TMXL would it play through properly.

So, you might be fine with AT, but since CP mods can edit any data asset, yeah, those should be matched UNLESS you are absolutely sure it's a local only asset

Which is why my advice is: just don't bother trying to mismatch mods, it's a lot of work and you might still end up with angry red errors

Sometimes when i load up i can left click but not right click in chests or my inventory. it puts a red ring highlight around the item i clicked and nothing else. i restart a few times and it eventually stops. But the only similar thing i could find was a better chests or expanded storage issue from several years ago and mines all up to date

The red ring highlight means the game thinks you're holding alt! So probably you alt tabbed, and then let go of alt when the game was no longer focused and so no longer reciebing input
Press alt again to make it stop thinking you're holding alt

I'm trying to install and play SVE, everything in the folders lines up with the guide but none of the mods are loading
i dont have the folder for stardew error logs either :(

Would anyone happen to know what the green "bush" thing is? I can't attack it with sword, can't sickle it, can't axe it or pickaxe. Whenevery I left click nothing happens but when I right click on it I take damage. No idea if it's a mod, the farm map or a bug. Pwease help, I have two of these on my farm. (one is on my farming land which is very in the way)

My problem is that the mod works fine on new freshly made runs when it comes to adopting, but on my year 4 main save, marnies pet bed and strays do not appear, but everything else is in working order
I couldn't find anything on Adopt N Skin about having to start a new save. Unless I missed it @atomic forge
Plus you don't have that many mods, and I don't see what the problem could be. Maybe update smapi? See if that helps?
If not, it just might not be available to old saves.
I can't find any issues in the log, and combing the Adopt N Skin page doesn't yield anything either. How odd.
Maybe backup your old save. Sleep a day and try that @atomic forge

So for example I have the content patcher mod in 1.19 for SVE on mobile, but the steps for RSV ask for a different version of the same content patcher mod

the newer FTM shouldn't cause any problems

yeah, that's correct. there are indeed multiple copies of the mods installed, for example All Chests Menu is installed in Mods\All Chests Menu-14494-0-1-0-1668552691\AllChestsMenu, Mods\CJB Cheats Menu 1.32.1-4-1-32-1-1665449022\AllChestsMenu, and Mods\Govner-mod-6610-1-0-0-1597126286\AllChestsMenu.. so the extra copies should be removed
you're also missing dependencies for SVE so it isn't loading either

@little hawk From the paths it looks like you're unpacking into or inside your mod folder. Maybe do it somewhere else and only put the necessary folders into your mod folder. Most mods have clear names for their actual folder which makes it easier to keep an overview instead trying to do it with the zip names (i.e. "CJBCheatsMenu instead of All Chest Menu - some number...).
See this is one of the issues Spacecore for SVE needs 1.4.0 but the one for RSV needs 1.4.5
Should I get both versions, will they clash or be fine?

will warn you - I wouldn't try to put sve and rsv on the same phone unless you have, like, at least 4gb and preferably closer to 6gb of RAM

I never used mine for something like that. But for me the first issue is "display too tiny to see".

I would guess that if they play one after the other they might be faster? 
(120hz is meaningless if your hardware can't handle it)
RSV is probably fine; SVE "okay" on its own
the two together is too much for the phone
you just reminded me that my work MacBook has a 120 Hz screen, but i forced it to 60 Hz, because they coded the animations wrong and they're SLOWER on 120
like 2x slower
and you can't interact with the apps during transition

Yeah at a glance it looks like you've used AT naming conventions for Adopt N Skin, which is a different mod entirely
you have to use the SMAPI console for Adopt N Skin, and you have to have the skins named properly. I believe AnS uses cat_1, cat_2, etc. but the instructions are on the AnS page. Alternative Textures (with the scissors) is a different mod and requires AT content packs to function.
Right okay, I accidentally uninstalled a AT for farm animals, but noticed it when I went into the game they still had their custom skins from being put into the AnS folder, - so I just removed my pet AT from the same creator, my apologies, should I just redownload the AT packs then?
I presumed it would be the same scenario with my cat as it was with the farm animals, my mistake!
tbh I've never tried using AT (for animals) and AnS at the same time, but yes, I think you either need to reinstall the AT pack for your cat or if you want to just have AnS, you could take the cat you want and pop it in there, but with the correct name.

Android is on an older version of Stardew, these cannot be made compatible

wasd is for moving you either left or right click to interact
some of these questions are basic gameplay questions so you might want to check out new-farmers (tbh I wouldn't suggest modding the game until you get a handle on the basics and figure out what you do or don't like about the base game)
