So I downloaded the mods I wanted (it’s just Stardew Valley Expanded and all the required mods) but when I made a new save the mods didn’t activate or anything, so what do I do?

@shy orbit you were right! i appreciate the help. all i did was remove the (‘) by retyping the command without including them and SMAPI was able to locate Stardew Valley and install on my Micro SD card thank you so much!

Man what a crash. The game froze and shut down and my computer also crashed and did the white then d blue screen reboot of itself. I was about to take a pic of Elliot's room to ask if I is possible to disable spouse rooms. His plopped itself right on top of an existing room and messed it up. I'm using Seasonal Garden Farmhouse.
Here's a pic showing how it did it. Also the mod is V2, forgot to put that in the name.
I think there is a file to empty out the spouse room in the downloads/files tab of Seasonal Garden Farmhouse. maybe try to see if that helps?

my game freezes for a couple of seconds when I click new button and other customization options and crashes when i click ok

So having an issue with PyTk. I spent a lot of time going through my mods folder, updating things and what not and when I launched the game and either tried to start a new game or try to host a multiplayer, the game freezes and then just ends up not responding and I have to end up closing it. I went through all my mods one by one to figure out the issue and came to the conclusion that it was PyTK. I noticed on smapi i get the error listed above, but that version is the only one I could find on nexus. Sorry if this has been asked before. I haven't played SV in a really long time so I'm trying to get back into it and just hitting a wall lol I get no other errors just the compatibility thing with PyTK

This warning means that CP and SMAPI have had to disable certain optimizations for pytk. Pytk will work fine for now, but you may see increased lag

Hi, im trying to install mod for the first time for SV and im unsure on how to do it, ive tried to follow the instructions online but not getting anywhere
This is what my files look like with the mods ive extracted and put in mods sub folder

Also why do you want multiple farm map ones...? You can only use 1
Like farm map replacers require at bare minimum Content Patcher and some require more than that

Hey all....so apparently, I'm an idiot....I have two folders saved to my flash drive for Stardew Valley (steamapps and Stardew Valley). I was tired and I guess I deleted some important stuff for the game (steamapps) and now it won't work but it works through the folder Stardew Valley. Here is my log:

The best way to update mods is to remove ALL old files and then download the new ones and place them as you would every mod.
Unless I'm mistaken that is, but that's what I've been doing 
that's fine, android is just behind a version of the game

So I have an issue with Stardrop, where I downloaded DSV mods, added them with the "Add Mod" feature but after, when I right click "Open containing folder" it opens my Documents ??

since you downloaded on steam, go to steam's local files for stardew
you'll see the content folder

I re-downloaded the zip from nexus and it's still not installing correctly (i've checked the file paths to ensure it should be installing into the right drive) and still no luck
The steamapps folder is what I downloaded because when I made the Stardew Valley folder I didn't actually realize there was a folder already provided

Sorry, I had to head out for a bit. Can you install SpriteMaster 0.15.0-beta.7 from https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922?tab=files, and see if it still happens then? If so, try going back a few versions at a time to see which one introduced the issue.

Your custom furniture will show up in the catalog
spawn a furniture catalog in through CJB and then click on the furniture catalog and scroll through
your custom stuff should also appear in robin's shop inventory

Fluffy can you just confirm that you scrolled all the way to the bottom of the furniture catalog? CF stuff usually ends up at the end, after the CP/vanilla furniture

I've got a weird issue happening. I am decorating the shed(the one the carpenter builds) And 3 times now I've come across something invisible. On picking it up(it takes several empty handed hits) it says it is a stone chest. But no chest ever shows up in my inventory.

I did at the beginning place and pick up the wooden cabinet and wrought iron cellar. And I notice now I have extra wooden cabinets(had 2 now have 4 including 3 in a stack and one that won't stack) and an extra oasis chest(only had 1 at first).

I was wondering. Is there a way to reload configs on the fly in stardew? I want to reposition a hunger bar to be nicely aligned next to the rest of the bars that I have and I am not sure whether or not it will move to account for invisible bars or not, so it will likely take a LOT of trial and error...so wanted to see if this is a function that is available to save myself a ton of headache trying to unload and reload the game 1000 times. ^.^;
I do not believe it has GMCM options for this. Or at least not all of the bars I need to reposition do.
Hot reload works if you can fork that mod
(And gmcm support is easy enough to add)

Would make getting the position much faster. Less trial and error.
My biggest concern is making sure it responds correctly to the hp bar appearing in situations where it should. Ideally the bar should be right next to energy and hp because it's...hunger. Then the mana bar should be next to that.
I don't think there are other bars...in the base game though I could be wrong.

I've got the buildable greenhouse mod and I changed the map file and building file. I THINK the mod pulls from its own files rather than the base file. So the buildable greenhouse, if I am figuring this right, should then be of a completely different type and style from the base greenhouse. But sadly the available .json files don't give me the ability to go in and add seasonal variations and doesn't specifically mention the outside layout image, so I think it's in the .dll file

I mean there are several things that could be causing it - you have at least one XNB mod, so

But if you really want to figure it out, install the Profiler mod
Profiler will tell you what is causing lag. So if something is taking ages to load? That's the culprit.
I'm downloading Profiler now, but the issue is more like a super bad stutter type of lagging vs having long loading times

yeah no that's probably it Kitten. Multiple Spouses is outdated, meant for 1.5.4-. 1.5.5+ is Free Love
it would make sense too. Everywhere else is fine, but in the farmhouse it's running off of both codings, and one of them is ludicrously outdated
I think I see why it happens. You're accessing ScreenManager very early, which initializes it earlier than Content Patcher expects it to be. It loads its queued mod tokens when it's initialized, but at that point they haven't been queued yet. So the fix is likely to defer calling GetContentPatcherUpdateContext() until it's actually needed by SpriteMaster (e.g. just wrap it in a Lazy<Action?>).

The Better Trash Cans one doesn't matter. It always yells like that but I've never noticed an actual problem. Better Sprinklers started acting up after I changed its keybind to a 2-key combo, which made it completely crash. But I changed it back to a single-key and now this error has cropped up.

I suspect this is the Prismatic Sprinklers/Better Spriklers incompatibility
Prismatic Sprinklers adds sprinklers in a very...odd format in terms of the data stored
this does not play nice with mods that edit the crafting recipes for it
It's been playing nice with each other for a good week now though. And I don't believe there has been any updates...
And better Sprinklers isn't very well-protected against unexpected formats
I once read through the code of both and concluded that the best fix would be better sprinklers adding careful checks to its crafting recipes edit
Unless I'm thinking of some other sprinklers mod, but I'm pretty sure it was this one with the "autobalance" feature
I did change the range of prismatic sprinklers...maybe that's what sparked it.

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.
Run the command ja_summary for everyone

I think this is something to do with earthy recolour.
Just my guess though. Any way of fixing it? Or will I just have to live with it or replace the recolour. I mean, I'm already thinking about replacing the foliage mod. But I like Earthy recolour so I'm not sure.

i've never had a problem with earthy recolour. is it a map glitch in the layering? a few maps are like that, you'll just have to live with it (it's been a problem on a few farm maps i've used before)

No worries i don't take any offence when people edit my mod for private use, a lot of people use other trees or grass over mine. But you should not remove any files from the folders or rename files to something else otherwise my mod won't load.
So best check first the mod is installed correctly. Smapi tells you exactly which files are missing and where they should be as Chrono posted so you should check first if they are where they belong and then report back again^^

If you were to do multiplayer on a modded farm how would you do that? Sorry if this is a ‘dumb’ question. I just recently started playing with mods on my laptop for stardewvalley and I really want to play multiplayer with someone else but I’m unsure of how that would work. (the only mods I have a recolor mod & stardewvalley expanded with grandpas farm)

tldr graphical changes like sprite edits can be client side, but mods that change maps or actual game data should be shared by both users
so sve would need to be on both peoples saves, but your sprite changer mod can just be on your end

What mod is that? I have similar issues in spots on my farm, not with water but with grass/dirt( I have the spring farmhouse v2, not sure if that is the correct name or not) and also am using the earthy recolor.
Well, you should update SM to beta.9. You missed the version that could break content patcher, but beta.7 does have issues where the wrong texture could sometimes display.

Hi all, I'm not running into any errors, but after updating (removed old then unpacked new versions) some of my mods, my game just will not load up - I've literally let it run all night to try to get it to load. I've removed some mods in hopes that it will help, but it does not seem to make any difference. My last attempt it ran for 30+ minutes without ever loading the game itself

ok so TMXL is a framework mod that other mods rely on
that framework's functionality has largely been replaced by several other mods (Content Patcher, Solid Foundations, etc)

it unfortunately relies on something called PyTK which increases a lot of people's load times
which is one reason why a lot of folks are trying to move away from it (plus it will become obsolete when SMAPI 4.0.0 hits iirc)
NOW! that being said: there are still some older NPCs that rely on it. And yes some buildable stuff still relies on it as well. It does very little on its own though
so if you have lets say an NPC mod that relies on it you will need to add it to your Mods folder, along with the NPC mod, and any other dependencies

Hey guys whenever I try and open stardew it loads the command opening screen and says all mods loaded and ready to launch but never actually opens the game. I've restarted my computer and renstalled smapi but still does not work. Any advice to fix this?
Has anyone downloaded the new Wild Flowers mod on Nexus yet? I just tried and my Google Chrome flagged it as potentially dangerous. I'm pretty sure it's fine but want to be completely sure before I download it.

I saw that as well. just reinstalled and currently running the saves but I'll get rid of any xnb mods before I run a new SMAPI log

Okay yeah, verified with the others. Your likely issue is having both PlatoTK and PyTK
Those two are heavily incompat and likely are throwing errors.
(Mainly because, per Airyn, PyTK is PlatoTK's successor, so you're running very old things)

In MissDirected's case, she might have been fine on the XNB front, but not the Plato/PyTK front. I just checked - Immersive Characters Shane is not supposed to alter the dialogue at the festival at all
So has to be from somewhere else.

This is... very strange, MissDirected. IC Shane is the only thing editing Shane's dialogue in the trace prior, so it's somehow stating that it's editing his usual Flower Dance string with a null string

The code key you showed me in the screenshot is the 1738 one. So for some reason, the code is not properly executing, since you're at friendly and six hearts.

Yep, that's the patch summary. I'll take a look but the most likely outcome is that you'll need atra or someone who can read the patch summary better than I can to figure out why IC-Shane is not patching that string
Because according to my content.json, it should be patched to that second line. And you redownloaded and reinstalled the IC-Shane file

Generally most mods post-2018/2019 are CP, but you can always go to the file tab and click "preview file contents". If the first folder is [CP] it's content patcher. If when you preview you see .xnb... It's a .xnb file

To atra or whoever can figure this one out - person downloading Immersive Character Shane is running into this image, which usually denotes a missing string. According to them they are at 6 hearts.
This is the code block that should be firing, and the patch summary states it is:

in vanilla game those dialogue keys are in Strings/StringsFromCSFiles. unless another mod changes that, i'd guess it's a problem with the mod targeting Characters/Dialogue/Shane
