JA you have to delete items before removing the mod, but going DGA to JA is much easier than JA to DGA

Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.
I have 2 more questions. JA keeps telling me it has "no idea what batter is"(it was telling me that about another item but switching the FTF from DGA to JA got rid of that one). the other question is about the Expanded Storage mod(I think that's the right one, the one that gives you extra chests to craft with better storage to them). I made the Large Chest but when I place it I can not interact with it to open and use it.
And yes I did have a few null items I had to delete and a few crops that were invisible that I had to remove. But otherwise no issues. On the letters I'm not sure. There is no config for them but there was for the recipes which did have ids I think.
No idea what batter is is because you don't have one of the meat mods iirc

Hallo, i posted my very most recent log here as far as I noticed there isn't anything wrong and i made it sure to put in the correct path when launching from steam but it crashes/closes when I boot the vanilla and smapi so i really still can't play at all
Hey has anyone else had a problem with the fps tanking when riding on the horse after installing Stardew Expanded? It makes the horse un-usable. I only have SVE and its required mods everything else is working perfectly.

There's some mod that does an OnTimeChange patch, it could be market day or it could be something else. Market Day itself does a number of checks on time change, including whether or not to refill your display. The market day warnings look fine to me.
I'm still trying to figure out why my Large Chest won't open when I try to interact with it. I think it is from Extended Storage. I know the mod it is from adds several extra chests(large, magic and I think a Junimo though not sure about the last one) to the game.

reposting in case knows a solution! i followed the instructions on the wiki to create mod groups on Mac, but whenever I open the file it just uses the normal Mods folder. how can I get it to open with the new mod folder?

Anyone else have an issue adopting pets for Adopt N Skin? I get trapped in a loop of 'accept the pet' 'name the pet' accept the pet' over and over where I can't actually finish naming it. But there aren't any errors in my log I can find

After I uninstalled and installed the game, i did verification and then reinstalled the latest smapi did the necessary steps on the launching and i got it to work finally!!

Okay I finally got to test the other chests from Expanded Storage, the magic and super magic chest and it is the same thing as the large chest. I can not interact with or open them at all.
I'll have to double-check to confirm, but I think Combine Machines conflicts with Expanded Storage

Okay I just tried opening the chests without Combine Machines loaded and still can not open the chests. It's like they are just normal decorations.
As to the original issue I had, with FTF, it is fixed. I just got a letter and the recipe was attached! Now if only I could get the ones I missed. But I don't know how I would other than just making a new character, And I really don't want to have to do that.
Hello beautiful Stardew brains trust! I’m a first-time modder looking for some guidance — hoping someone on here could walk a newbie through the Wild West 😳
First up, I’m struggling to understand the difference between content patching and alternative textures. I’ve downloaded both these packs from Nexus mods, but I’m not sure if I should be using one or the other. Could someone explain the difference, and whether I should be using either/or?

I’ve been able to work my way around the config.json files and customise some of the craftables, but others I’ve been unable to change. For example, my crystalariums have the mod textures, but not the beehouses. In other instances, vanilla textures can be seen over items like the furnaces, but the retexture peeks through at the back.
I’m using SVE and the vibrant pastel recolour, but from what I can tell I’ve toggled off the settings that inhibit the textures from appearing. There are a lot of other mods in the log though, so there could be another one causing the problem?
I’ve also downloaded the mod that allows you to configure the .json within game (Generic Mod Config Menu), but had no luck making effective changes there either.

CP will change the appearance of the vanilla craftables, Alternative textures can make you have a different appearance of a specific craftables

You have the wrong TMX version for mobile. The one you have listed says it needs 3.14 SMAPI or later, which is only on PC

At least per the SVE's server guide, you need 1.20.1. This is under Old Files, on the files tab, on the Nexus download page. Download that and it should fix your issue.

Glad someone better at this could clear things up. That aside, I've got a little problem myself. I installed a greenhouse mod yesterday - everything's working fine, but the stuff that was in there before stayed where it was, obviously. I could move almost everything with the Crop Transplant mod, but one apple tree decided it wants to be a problem and won't let me move it. Seems like the inspectable barrel "under" it is the problem since that always brings up the flavor text. Anyone an idea how to move the tree without editing the map itself?

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.

If your computer is having problems with normal stardew, you might have to use the compat branch
but that branch can't use mods
There isn't really any easy way for you to use mods if your computer is either very very old and thus incompatible with .NET 5.0 or if your computer is experiencing weird issues with monogame
Yeah, if someone told you to get the legacy branch before, it's possible you need it. And if that's the case... There's only one (much more involved and awkward, and will take a lot of time for anyone to walk you through) way to get you running with mods.

I've been reworking my mods a little bit and I keep running into the warns from PFM. I know I can ignore them but I've been getting them so much that I really want to figure out what I'm missing that is causing these warns.

i want to try mermaid island but it requires event repeater to be active, but that mod then repeats this test event with penny every day, is there a way to keep it but turn off this event without deleting it like it says?

Apologies if you've tried this already, but have you had a look at DSV's light and ultralight settings? Both of those were designed to increase performance by removing the time checks and ultralight also removes many of the locational checks

I don,t think I'm doing the right way cause I don,t see any indication that the mods are installed whether i open a new save or continue
i started checking nexus mod and saw a "collection" but it required vortex, I launched vortex, i installed 48 mods in total but I don't understand what to do next.
I checked the folder and I've been told to press smapi but all i found was StardewModdingAPI.exe in the folder AppData\Roaming\Vortex\stardewvalley\mods\SMAPI 3.16.2-2400-3-16-2-1661982205 and with no results
so double pressing StardewModdingAPI.exe just opens cmd and closes itself
no explanation as to why. I tried resinstalling smapi 3é16 via vortex and no changes

Is there a way to fix where a cp pack's location puts youout if it's wrong? I am using the Hotsprings Bathhouse cp mod and it is putting me in the wrong place when I leave the bathhouse. I put a report on the mod's Nexus site but it hasn't been updated in a long time so I'm not sure I'll hear back from them. This is where it puts me instead of outside the door:

Atra is likely right. Your tilesheets should not be in a different order because most of the tilesheets are found in the game's content folder
So in order for the error to occur, something has to have gone wrong with the original files. Follow the instructions in the link Atra called.

I suppose it is also possible that, if that is not the case, that Vortex screwed up the tilesheet order in Grandpa's Farm/Expanded. I would reinstall those after if resetting content files did not work

I manually downloaded smapi, launched the .bat and it ran fine but the instructions on readme.txt stops there. When I launch stardew valley the menu is still the same

I just browsed mods on nexus, saw the mod I was interested in. Discovered there's collection (group of mods together) and discovered vortex. I thought all the mods would automatically update.

If you use stardrop mod manager, you can set a profile to disable all mods. The game still run through smapi but there will be no mods active

hey all, narrowed down what the issue was with the mod collection i had installed, this is the error i was getting
[Content Patcher] SMAPI blocked a 'Maps/Farm' map load: the 'Grandpa's Farm' content pack reordered the original tilesheets, which would cause a crash.

Well if anyone else asks about this problem, I just tracked it down to vortex version 1.6.11. Version 1.6.10 works without issue. Surprisingly the logs don't indicate any issues.

An XNB mod replaces some of your game's .xnb files to change the game (unlike newer mods that go in your Mods folder). This is an older type of mod that's no longer recommended, and can cause a number of issues. Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

good evening!! recently i have installed linux and am attempting to manage my mods on it via stardrop- however, whenever i open stardrop.sh, it says "no usable version of libssl found". im on the latest version of Mint, and i have everything updated! can anyone help?
i really want to play stardew bit stardrop is refusing to load on my linux 😦

Net 5.0, which both Stardrop and SMAPI use, is EoL and no longer supported on Ubuntu 22.04 due to OpenSSL going from v1->v3
(no clue, I don't use synaptic!)
I'm actually not sure since I haven't had to do this myself (I'm still using ubuntu 20.04 🙈 )
Should I try getting rid of the IF2R Farm Cave again? Is so, what should I do to get rid of it without breaking the mod?

Hi lovely people, I am currently trying to understand how DGA/PPJA is related. PPJA Redux - For DGA is newer but some mods won't pick it up as they do expect a different "mod ID". There is no way to mix the classic PPJA and DGA version to make them work, is there?

The latest released version of PPJA (Project Populate Json Assets, a popular mod) is a conversion from JA to DGA, but it has some bugs in it, and the mod author has retired. Sticking with the older JA version is probably your best option.
You can download the JA version from the Old Files section on Nexus, or by downloading the latest versions of the standalone components instead of the megapack (except for Farmer to Florist, where you would need to look under Old Files in the standalone version).

Hi! I'm playing modded Stardew and have ran into quite a problem. It seemed like one of the most recent Vortex updates corrupted itself, so I just ended up uninstalling and reinstalling everything. It still had my save files however, so that was good. But the problem I have now is that the save I invested a lot of time into (which uses Immersive Farm 2 Remastered) is just the basic stardew farm. All of the other mods work, except that one for some reason. I've uninstalled and reinstalled mods, but tbh I don't know much abt this stuff and don't know what I should do.
