first time modding stardew valley and its showing two different mods as duplicate mods and not loading them
looking for some help with the abandoned bride mod .

I FINALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM, it was “Cowboy life expanded” lol
I asked earlier and didn't get much help. I was trying to play with Stardew Expanded mod and it kept telling me files are missing. I have already created my log, but no idea what to do next. The mod was downloaded twice, once from dropmod and once from nexusmod and both resulted in the same errors

MLS when Elizabeth says you're missing a bunch of dependencies they mean you're missing mods that are required for SVE to work
your log indicates you just have "Stardew Valley Expanded" which can't work on its own
On Nexus, there's a "Requirements" field, near the top of description of the mod.
The log tells you what is missing
You need to install every mod on the "Nexus Requirements" section. Failure to install even one mod will cause SVE to not work.
In theory, technically you could do without SAAT, you'd just have no music. But everything else is required for some function of it to work.

you need to downgrade versions some mods that can run for android. this includes all dependencies mods

So encountering a weird issue I haven't seen before... Grass has grown on my porch (which I think means the grass spawns or whatever weren't disabled properly in Tiled?) but um, every time I go to get rid of the grass with my scythe, my game freezes and then closes out and I have no clue why lol. I can use my scythe in the house, on the weeds, on the grass behind the porch. I just can't use it right where I'm standing xD
(I can also use other tools on the porch such as the axe or pickaxe)

I'm actually running through some tests now b/c I just thought to use RTF and it happened even when I removed the grass and used the scythe in that spot... which made me realize it might be the Newspaper mod. Uninstalling that mod stopped the issue. (so now I'm just going to check to see if I just need to read it first before going ham with the scythe on my porch 😆 )

Hard crashes like that are usually AVEs and I know Ameise fixed one in the last build

Ok yep I just have to read the newspaper (as I normally do) before using the scythe on that tile. I guess it’s never come up before bc I usually do read the newspaper right away and I’ve never needed to use the scythe on my porch before.

if you ever try to uninstall or update later after having installed as admin, it will be a bad time

Out of curiousity, are you using the most recent SMAPI version or the installer from six months ago?

There are some instances where you will need to use the compatibility version of the game. Please be aware that SMAPI/game mods are not compatible with this version.
On Steam: In your library, right-click Stardew Valley and select Properties... > Betas > then "compatibility" under the dropdown.
On GOG: From the game's page, click the settings icon > Manage installation > Configure... > then "compatibility" under the Beta channels dropdown.
So instead of turning it on via those instructions, just check to see what's there
If you can't get the installer to work you can also install manually or tell the installer where the game is

....if there is such a list, I don't think we have that here. There are a ton of new NPC downloads
The major ones are connected to things like Ridgeside Valley, Stardew Valley Expanded, and East Scarp. I think technically Durin's Rest too, although I don't have that one myself.
Then there are several one-person or two person ones, like Jessie/Juliet, Shiko, Jasper, etc.

according to the log it's in Mods\[CP] Flor Salary and Mods\[CP] Penny Salary (it's determined by the UniqueId in the manifest.json files). i'd try first deleting those and reinstalling the mod, but if it doesn't fix it it might be a problem with the mod

i have this problem... my farmer can't walk through the bush. and regardless how long I wait, it's just stuck. I don't know what to do. If I once again trigger this cut scene, all I can do is close the game and then restart the day
don't think there is a version for 1.4
I could have sworn I had it on my laptop when we were on 1.4
you can use no-clip mode mod to let your character walk through it
also if the bush isn't supposed to be there you could use reset terrain features mod to reset and regenerate bushes and trees

Reset Terrain Features (https://smapi.io/mods/#Reset_Terrain_Features) is a mod that lets you reset, clear, or generate everything that spawns on a map using an in-game menu. That's especially useful when changing maps mid-save, as the debris will otherwise use the old layout (causing things like trees in the water or bushes blocking exits).

Hello, Im new to the game & Im having a few issues w/ SMAPI, every time I try to install it through 3.7.6.10 installer it reaches 80% then says that it failed to sign the game, does anyone have any solutions to this?

I've got it on my android 11 tablet & while I had a few false tries (including trying to overwrite the existing game) it works now

Still a hard crash is...not that easy to do in c#
Pretty sure the default manjero file system should be able to extract zips, but tar should be able to as well
On Debian also unzip, which manjero might also have? (You can search in the package manager: it's packman iirc for arch)
With Linux (which is what steam deck is) it is best to consult the Arch Wiki first for any system issues
(Manjero is an arch distro)
Lots of stuff will be new to you. But the wiki is very good
Arch has a very strong "please read the manual" culture, btw
Yeh so it's an sve evrnt on an sve map so I think a reset terrain feature during the day should help.

Ok... so I'm saying this without being any kind or species of Android whiz... that's what I did. then reinstalled the game and installed SMAPI... the whole thing. It's not like installing on PC where you have a .bat file, you have to install the thing then open it up and run it from there
So what I should try rn is uninstalling & reinstalling the game then installing SMAPI, right?

Hello! Does anyone here know of any pc console commands that could help a game move ahead in time without having to experience the day? I am in a modded multiplayer game and we cannot get past the 10th of spring on year three. We have tried a few things but haven't been able to figure it out. So, we are hoping that maybe it's just that day and we can keep progressing normally if only we could get past that one day.

outdated mods, and i don't see any mods messing around npc action, exclude SVE, ah r u using reset terrain? it bit a bug when u trying reset all, same my old case, try to update 1st i hope it'll help u
Update all your mods and remove Save anywhere. Npcs walking through stuff happens even in Vanilla, try playing the game for a few days and see if the problem persists.

The version prior to the latest is known to be real buggy, to the point of it being game breaking. You can probably play test it to see if that still applies to the latest version.

Looks like antivirus eating things

I downloaded the newest version by Zane York, and now I have music in game, but as you can see... smapi is fighting with CustomMusic. I'd take it out, but then SVE wouldn't load because it's a requirement
there are noticeably long lags whenever scenes change and I kind of belive its due to that conflict

No, the version that is released for Mobile is before SAAT was included
The original smapi that was ported to mobile was released in Dec of 2020. So to play with mods you need to find workable versions from that era. The latest release on that smapi dealt with some smaller issues but it is still like an antique car that needs custom parts

My tablet ought to be able to handle it... But who knows.,that is a big mod and redoes practically every screen. I'm also running Simple Foliage and a PPJA tree replacement thing
if those are involved they would probably show on the log too on the screen transitions

Some mods has requirements in order for them to work
It shouldn't have, when SMAPI is installed, the "m" should be capitalized
It does that automatically
(though on Windows, NTFS is by default case-insensitive though you can change that)
(though you'd break a lot of things)
That's why I leave things that are set by default alone lol

the error probably means something is misconfigured or mislabeled in some of the files that interact with that mod is my guess,
looking at the log, the horse asset files are not detected/missing, so maybe so that's triggered the error
also q, how do you organize sub folders in portraiture? i made a folder for one set of portraits but they all have their own subfolders that i left like that but that doesn't seem to be detected, but just dumping all the different images together doesn't seem right because then their will be name conflicts for some of them (esp for the anime portraits), would they have to be individually renamed or something?

Can anyone help? I downloaded SVE and just got a silo but when I cut grass I get no hay at all. Do I need to have a coop or barmln first? I just cut all the grass on my farm, with the scythe, and I got nothing. The silo says 0/240
Hey! So if you have your main file portraiture and then the sub folder of the style (i.e DC. BURGERS) then you dump all the characters in there (just the png - not the character folders or the mod gets confused). Then when you click 'p' in game then it will switch between the styles that you named. Keep in mind that all portraits in that category folder will be applied to the corresponding NPC's.
you can mix and match styles tho, i'm just a diehard dcburger fan

When launching with SMAPI there is an odd crackly-ness to the audio which doesn't change with or without mods. When launching the game normally there's no such issue so the issue seems to be exclusively with SMAPI itself which is odd since I only seem to have this issue with this specific laptop.

hello! so i’ve been playing stardew on my pc for awhile and usually don’t run into any issues. one day however, i attempted to get onto a save i had been playing for awhile, but when i clicked on the world, the game brought me back to the “loading in” screen. i tried uninstalling the game, verifying the files, playing without mods (this just caused the game to crash all together) and nothing worked, so i started a new world. and now the same thing is happening! i noticed that when i attempt to open this world, this red text appears in smapi but i have no idea what any of it means. i am able to use the world on my macbook (i don’t ever go back and forth between devices, just wanted to test and make sure the world was still playable), but i would really prefer to play on my pc if possible. i’m not a tech savvy person whatsoever so at this point i’m not sure what to do, so if anyone has any ideas or knows how to fix it, i would really appreciate help! thank you so much 🙂 here’s my smapi log

Likely the game is attempting to read the map as a valid map but it contains too many bugs. So it may work in theory but it will have a number of unfixable android bugs

Based on that wiki page and what I've generally seen, the rule is unless it's an old mod they all work for multiplayer unless otherwise specified in the mod page

What Vibel said, Aleck, but also I don't seem to see that CCCB has GMCM support, so you'd have to edit the config manually (i.e. it wouldn't show up on the mod config page anyway) and the bundles may have "changed" dependent on what you actually see on the bundles

well, the RSV SAAT content pack is missing like it says so reinstall it or the whole mod i'd say

Okay, so whenever I add or remove a mod in my greenhouse added by SF it apparently changes the ids from the crops and trees

A Json Shuffle is when your Json Assets items rearrange their numerical IDs or different players have different numerical IDs assigned to the same object. See here for details: https://stardewmodding.miraheze.org/wiki/Json_Shuffle.
Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.

SM will help load performance. The newest dev builds help runtime performance, though for Macs its always tricky because they have annoyingly-bad OpenGL implementations.

XNB mods often break the game and are not recommended. For mod creators, see https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Editing_XNB_files for help unpacking & editing them (including for use with Content Patcher).
Also even if it's not that I assume the problem would then be the "detected mod files in the mod folder" since they need to be in their own folder
But like....for your own sanity, please update all your mods
i am dont worry but before the new updates for the mods were up it wazs crashing i think because of something

does anyone know why when i catch the bus to the desert it take me back to the location prior to the desert? I have walk to the desert redux due to zuzu city mod ect, it appears to be glitching and now won't let me go to the desert via bus or walking. Is anyone else experiencing this?

@median blade That would be half of your problem - those files need to be in their own folder to work. It can happen if a mod maker didn't put the files into a folder like most modders do, at which point the files are just free-floating and won't work unless you put them in a folder

Hi Shepherd, have you tired updating all those mods listed? Especially SpaceCore and PYTK? As they are both mods that effect the function of your game
Your TXML is also outdated - so would recommend updating those 28 mods listed in purple, as the error looks like it's spitting out an issue with spacecore - but there may be someone who knows the exact error, but I'd start with updating those mods first.

Anybody know of a mod to make the passing-out animation instantaneous instead of freezing the game completely for like 3 seconds? I use https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/12578 but lately after 1:40 am it's often freezing my game and seemingly attempting the passing out animation even though nothing comes of it in the end

if you only have one skin in there, don't but the '_1' , sometimes that helps
do you also have an adult version of the blue chicken? It looks like that's the only one spitting out an error
and your horse overhaul is out of date - it looks like smapi isn't loading it either, so make sure you just put the skins in the adopt n skin folder and delete the overhaul.
I have 5 different ones, before I said it was _10, then I changed it to _1 and it continues. I don't know what the problem is with this mod. The non-multiplayer version works normally. I have the skins all correct, they work with the non-multiplayer version. My horse overhaul mod is working, is it having a conflict with adopt 'n' skins?
I disabled horse overhaul but nothing changed.
I'm going to do a test leaving only 1 skin, and another without any skin
hey the horse was just as an FYI - hmm might need someone more experienced the, but don't skip numbers like label them in numeric order like 1-5, as in don't label all chickens 1-10, seperate number for each (not sure if you've already done that).
I usually leave them with the name they came from the mod I downloaded.

but they are with the default name for the AnS mod, just the number that is not from 1 to 10 for example.
The file must be named in the format of [Baby/Sheared][Type]_[Skin ID]
EX: Cat_1, BabyVoidChicken_7, Dinosaur_3, Horse _27, etc.
The [Type]needs to be exactly as shown in the above type chart (BFAV note below). Spaces and capitalization optional.
All animals with a baby or sheared sprite MUST have these sprites in the folder, alongside the normal adult sprite.
Each baby or sheared skin is matched to the normal adult version of the skin with that ID (i.e. babysheep_1 will be the baby sprite of a sheep with the skin sheep_1)
Skin IDs can be any number greater than 1, but must be unique from others of that type (i.e. you can have dog_1 and whitechicken_1, but not two whitechicken_1s)

Yeah, so you'll need to rename them - you can't use the default if you're using numerous skins

and sometimes the mods you download, have different wording - i.e. brownbabycow , you'll need to change it to the correct text
other than that, I'm not too sure what else could be the issue - reach out again in an hour or so - see if someone else may know
but i'd say that would fix your main issue in my opinion

The warning it is spitting out in relation to seeds is for the Better Artisan Mods, but honestly i'm impressed your game is running at all with all of these errors - like no shame, but WOW.
I'd start with updating all of the ones that I have listed as out of date, as if looks as if your Mod Update Menu isn't working (as it's not the most recent). And then I would uninstall and re-install SMAPI. It looks like it might take you a bit, but if all of that doesn't fix it, it will at least narrow down what the specific issue is and you re-do a log for us to investigate.

when i catch the bus to the desert, screen goes black and i return on foot to the area before the desert. Then when i walk to the desert, as I'm about to get there, it keeps reverting me back to area beforehand.

apparently it's a problem with the walk to the desert redux SVE compatibility, might be that they didn't account for the touch action warps behaving slightly differently than the warp type they were using before or something, but there is a bug report and a fix by someone apparently

it's safe at least as long as you don't save while the mods are removed. but most mods can be removed from a save without big problems
of these i think only custom items or quests from SVE could be problematic unless you cancel/trash them in the save before removing the mod

A Json Shuffle is when your Json Assets items rearrange their numerical IDs or different players have different numerical IDs assigned to the same object. See here for details: https://stardewmodding.miraheze.org/wiki/Json_Shuffle.
Anytime you change your JA mods you can risk a shuffle. In multiplayer, you need to have exactly the same mods in exactly the same order as your friends.
Anytime you have a shuffle and then solve it, old objects may remain affected but new ones should be fine. You can sell or trash the old items, and spawn in new ones if needed with CJB item spawner.
