I know that Primatic Shards are supposed to be rare but I iam in year four and have only had in the quarry two of the tones that might give you one and none was in there also I have gone back down into the mines and nothing gives me any there after reaching the botton and going back in is there a fix out that I do not know about?

Do you mean the regular mines? You're probably not ever going to find any there, you'll need to go mining in the skull caverns to have a better chance at getting a prismatic shard.

they can be found in basic mines after you hit 120, but the odds of them dropping from the mines enemies are abyssmal

It's a very, very low chance. It's not unusual to never get one from the regular mines or quarry. I don't know if there have been any changes to the game around how often they drop, that would be a good question for #stardew-spoilers. This channel is more for game crashes and that sort of thing

The only one I can't attempt to do is
" Go into the game file directly and then into the folder titled “_CommonRedist”, then “XNA”, then “4.0”, then “xnafx40_redist” installer. Once there, run the installer and hit repair." because I do not see that folder at all

only way i know of is to wait a day and see if it's mailed to you, and then if it isn't you can either save-edit (searching for the golden scythe may actually be helpful in case it's just in the fridge) or install SMAPI and CBJ Item Spawner, spawn in a replacement scythe, save, and then remove Item Spawner (and SMAPI if you want to - though some people do play vanilla with SMAPI, for the save-backup and error-handling features)

Hello everyone. Me and my friend wanted to play some stardew valley together but in co-op the "Enter Invite Code" option isn't showing up. If I make the farm I can't even see the invite code in the options tab. We have tried EVERYTHING and still isn't working. (Steam)

@sinful sparrow didnt know were the log was. A bunch of tests and the entire log... i managed to fix the problem myself. I use linux, a -dev lib was missing from my system.

Well we don't know why it crashed, but if it happens again you can generate a log right after the crash which will include info on what happened, and share that in #archived-modded-support

using the two joycons?
If you mean will people be able to play with just one joycon, that depends if you can play the game with a single joycon now. If the game currently requires two, I'd imagine each player would need two for splitscreen. If you can play the game now with one, then splitscreen shouldn't be any different. But that's just my guess, we won't know for sure until 1.5 is out on the Switch.

Hey my game started skipping and stuttering again after I thought the issue was gone. It only happens when smapi is installed. The vanilla game works fine but as soon as I install smapi, mods added in yet or not, the stuttering and skipping starts in every part of the game, even just the title screen. This isn't really anything big, but I just found it odd. In my current save file, I have the light gray cat as a pet and named it Beansprout. But when I look at his icon in the farmer profile, it shows the German Shepherd dog instead.

I play on my iPad Pro and I have not made any save edits...

huh, that's very weird--i think what the error is saying is that something in your save file should say <flipped>blahblahblah</flipped> and instead one of those says <flippe>, i'm not sure how that could happen without editing the save

So I'm having issues with multiplayer we tired all the basic troubleshooting we're playing LAN because my stepbrother doesn't have the invite code option for some reason. Both of us have the steam version and are sitting like 4 feet apart sometimes he'll be able to instantly connect other times it will linger on connecting then fail to connect we're not sure what the issue is any advice would be great

unfortunately the only way to make the steam achievement trigger is to get the game achievement in another save file. make sure you're launching the game through steam rather than by clicking the game icon, and make sure you're not in offline mode and that you have an internet connection

the game has a function in its settings tab to take pictures of entire maps in your game. You can use it to show people your farm layout and that sort of thing. That's the folder where the game stores the images

Does anyone happen to know how to directly edit save files? I was using Minerva's Harder CC Bundles, and apparently it's bugged. It made the Boiler Room plaque (where you donate) disappear, and even uninstalling the mod / using a save editor to set minecarts repaired to true doesn't fix the boiler room. I'm worried that maybe I'll never be able to fix the community center in this save if I can't manually edit the save file

Hi there guys,

So I bought my girlfriend a copy of Stardew Valley on steam yesterday but for some reason there is absolutely no way to launch it. There are plenty of troubleshooting tutorials we went through but none of the fixes seem to work. And that's one of them:

She has windows 10. We've tried reinstalling the game and launching it as the administrator. No effect. However, I found that the game requires the XNA framework which she has no installed. And that's where the real problem is - we cannot install that framework. Every time we try, there is this error 2605 that comes up. I know XNA is dead and is not meant to run on windows 10 but I cannot find any alternative. Even if there is, I have no idea how to install it. Any help would be appreciated, we're losing our minds lmao.
Oh and forgot to mention - we managed to launch the game yesterday but only once.

I have a digital copy of SV and also bought the physical copy when it came out. But since using the physical copy I now can’t play the game without the card even though I own the digital copy too. Does anyone know how to fix this?

your main profile/save was probably started on the physical, so it uses that, and if you start a new profile/save on the digital it might work

So, I want to remove a save file from my game but don't want to lose it forever, just not have it there right now. I just want the list of my saves to be ones I'm currently using so it's less cluttered.
Can I just move the file out of the saves folder and into a different one, and then drop it back in later if I ever want to use it again? Or is there more to it than that? I couldn't find anything on google telling me explicitly, just how to backup saves. I just wanted to make sure so I don't mess anything up and end up losing the save :p

If you really want to be sure you won't lose it you can move it to dropbox or another location that will have it saved by a cloud storage service. But yeah, just need to move it somewhere else

You should have 1 house (yours) and 3 cabins for the other players.
When a player joins, they automatically take one of the free cabins available, and they are theirs and no one can take it from them until demolished and replaced with a new cabin

All the data from the farm and the player are saved on the same file iirc, so, unless you want to edit the save file itself, there is not much you can do

Just a little info: Linux Kernel 5.10 release earlier this week, this added built in support for the Switch controllers (joycons and pro) and with my testing the pro controller no longer works with stardew in steam normally, but does work with steams hidraw disabled (tested with only two games i have installed, stardew and slime rancher) just thought that i would leave this here in case its an issue with how stardew interacts with steam for controller input (restricting steams access to hidraw for stardew still works however, this was not the case with kernel 5.9, however in 5.9 and likely prior steam would often disconnect with stardew)

IOS, Year 1, no mods, no buildings built by robin in 1 or 2 days and she’s just standing there, menacingly. She physically blocks me from moving there and I can’t open dialogue with her.
