There are some slight differences, mostly with my different drivers on my PC. I have the LGHUB and NVIDIA stuff on my pc, and my laptop has Mcafee and norton secure stuff, but other than that theres nothing thats really jumping out at me

wannabe farmer here getting the ol' "sdv won't start" error, cannot for the life of me puzzle it out. i have xna, all the c++ visual redistributables, .NET 4.8 that i've "repaired" at least twice now, and still i cannot get the game to start. trying to load up smapi gives me the following error: "Could not load file or assembly 'System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'" yada yada yada. that's my only clue as to the cause of the problem, which would suggest a .NET framework problem, but i've exhausted my resources on how to fix that and have hit a wall. anyone willing to help me figure this out?

Hello.. so I'm new here and I'm actually have my SMAPI, or like my game in general, crash whenever I go to sleep. I don't know if this is a mod problem so I don't know if I should send it here or the using-mods tab. So the issue is I'm at day 24 of summer y1, and after the day, it crashes on me and losing my save for the day. but before that, when I woke up I received a text on the bottom left saying a tool is ready but it isn't a normal text, more like program line of some sort not the actual text that should come out. I ignored that and went on my day, then when I slept it crashed. I dont know what to do can someone pls help me? :((

hi guys. I was trying to play in multiplayer in a downloaded map, but for some reason the saves seems to somehow turn themselfes in single player games. So when i try to join my friend's game or when she tries to join mine, the game says that the server is full. Can someone help? (thanks for the attention) (i already asked in #archived-modded-support, but maybe it's the wrong chat)

Without being able to do some other testing, it's hard to tell. SDV runs on a different type of protocol and sometimes we don't know why co-op invite codes don't work Skunby. You'll need to look into port forwarding as your alternative (which I can't guide you on)

@fresh pulsar The only way to increase the zoom further is with a mod. The one I prefer is Zoom Level Keybindings (I think that's the name). Guide in #archived-modded-support to getting SMAPI set up for that and it's safe to use in co-op

It's very strange that items would just vanish, especially without any mods 🤔
Is it possible that you loaded an older version of the same savefile by accident? (Steam cloud shenanigans maybe?) Or similarly, loaded a different but similar-looking savefile?
One thing to check is if your in-game date is as expected
Also is it possible that any one else might have opened or played on your save in the meantime?

Hi - thanks! I should have mentioned it’s the mobile version also. No-one has loaded the game, and as far as I can tell on mobile - at least on this game, I’ve never saved a backup so I’m not sure.

Ok, make a backup of the entire folder now haha, and put it somewhere else safe on your computer
And then try the step called "Undo a previous save"

If you get it working again, save a backup of the working copy
And then if you want to try again, look for the first part in the file that says
<difficultyModifier>1</difficultyModifier>
(Or it might say 0.75 or 0.5 or 0.25 in the middle)
You can change the number in the middle to any of those options (1, 0.75, 0.5 or 0.25) and it should work.

I see. So whatever text editor you used, it didn't understand the ï when it opened the save file. And then when you saved the changes, it saved with a broken character instead

It would be best to re-open the unchanged save file in a different text editor and edit it there. I don't know if there might be other broken characters that have been saved in this one.

Well since the problem is that entering the CC crashes it, since to progress the quest you have to enter the CC and interact with a bundle

#

So most likely the flag that sets the quest forward tells the game that she was in the CC, thus the CC must be loaded for it to work

i think i fell victim to the sleeping / save bug. i play on a mac and am now in winter of year two. I've never had a bug in the game and suddenly I can't save anymore when I go to bed. I see a dark freezed image of the game and my computer tries to load but does not get any further. I tried tips to fix empty spots in the chests and the fridge, or storing certain equipment or removing or adding items to the chests/fridge, but nothing helps. does anyone have advice? I'm losing it

Nothing more we can really do here then - that's the exhaustive list of known conflicts with the game. Experiment with the apps on the PC and your router settings if you can, but port forwarding is the only alternative we can offer

No antiviruses. Already tried resetting my Mac but I am going to try the uninstalling and reinstalling. The game has no problems until I go to sleep/save and the whole game crashes and freezes. I can hear the background music but I can’t get back in the game.

Hi there, has anyone had issues with the in-game music getting stuck on a single track - not the mini-jukebox either, but the actual in-game music - after updating some mods? I just finally got an internet connection after playing offline for a couple weeks and immediately updated my mods, and now my entire game is stuck on the track that plays after you get another star from the Juminos.
