Every tree has a small chance to mutate into a green rain tree at the start of Fall, and will remain in that state until Spring

I thought at first it was just a sprite error, tied to the patch note about trees having a chance to lose their leaves in the fall.

I'm not fully convinced it isn't, in fact, as when I last checked, weeds in B41-79F of the mines are coded to use the crystal sprite based on the sound effect that plays when you cut them

But they do produce mossy seeds and influence moss rate in nearby trees

Cast with Training Rod somewhere it literally cannot hook any fish, until you get trash. Swap to a proper rod and catch a real fish to advance the seed, then back to the Training Rod to check if this seed yields jelly

what makes jelly so hard to catch is its 0.1 base chance

The green rain is scripted to only be able to land on a few specific days in Summer; days where no vanilla festival or vanilla birthday land. It does not check modded ones, presumably because then it could get stuck with a situation where there are no valid days left for it
