Vulkan is better for lower GPUs (graphics) , while DX is better for lower CPUs (processors)

So if you're having issues with jittery movements/game running badly swap to DX11. But if you're having missing textures swap to vulkan

thats not a mod issue, it was an ongoing issue with peak. a new update for peak got released a few mins ago so you need to completely restart steam and update

Yeah, launching vanilla via Steam and via r2modmanager is fine, I have no launch args in steam. When I launch modded I see the company logos do their thing, then a small dialog box appears with no text (and I think i see the unity logo but it goes fast) and it crashes.

I just started modding and had a general question:

If I host, and have map mods such as Ascent 8-20, Everest, etc. will the rest of the lobby be able to play on it just fine, or do they have to have said mods as well?

I'm assuming that specific mods like Item/Player stats each individual would have to have downloaded, but I know in other games its usually just the host that needs global stuff like maps. Is that true for Peak as well?

usually the mod tells you on the website, e.g. for the moreascents mod it shows 'all clients' in the tags, so therefore everybody needs to have it

general rule of thumb: any mod using things already in the game files - only host needs
any mod using things not already in the game files - everyone needs

that being said for mods like player stats, unmodded people would still be able to join your lobby, they just wouldnt be able to see the mod. But it doesnt stop them from joining your lobby.
Everest uses an external server to store player death info which is why everyone would need that

Because the sun is constantly burning you, being in the fog for short periods actually helps

on my 2nd attempt I got to the top

Manually following a video on youtube months ago. First, I manually download the Bepinex and then boot the game, close the game and boot it back. Next, i put Peak Unlimited dll in the plugins folder.

I did extract the downloaded files, and then just follow the instructions. But i still cannot invite more than 4 players in my lobby

Just use a mod manager like r2modman or thunderstore, it's 1 click install and enabling/disabling is very straightforward
There's no real benefit to adding mods manually

From playing it this is what I think is required so far

• 3-4 players (Because you can't rely on finding a lot of lanterns for the cold)
• Good routing, you need to know the map due to the strict time limit
• Decently good luck on luggages, just restart if you don't get a healing item in the first two luggages
• Stuff from luggages needs to be mostly healing and food, since items are half as good
• Parasol is huge.

is there anyone here that actually makes any of these mods? there is a mod that I think should be really easy to create but I haven't seen anyone go into it yet. the bugle now makes a set tone when played at a certain angle. there are download buttons on thunderstore for both. you run the installers, then once installed you launch their app
find peak as a game, make a mod profile, then add mods to the profile.

My 20 player lobbies used to fill in like 3 or less

the game is just having too many issues right now and I think that's what is driving people away

They are configs, you can see them in the mod manager. Or if you get the ModConfig mod there will be a new button in the settings menu.

It happens on surfaces that have tiny standing points but it's on a slope

So they'll stand up when getting a hand but immediately start slipping again

Causing them to grab the ground several times almost instantly

yeah, i was thinking of using the logs to limit the scope of problem from entire Character handling to a few functions

seeing how they interact via logs is much easier than deducing half of the interaction

I am playing on a steam deck

So I installed the mods by myself, without a mod manager, they are not working well to me at least

you can use r2modman on a steam deck, there is a guide here (its lethal company but it doesnt matter, r2modman is standalone)

would make it easier for you to update and manage your mods then

i mean it makes it easier in the future
you dont have to manually do all these mod installs and updates, the mod manager does that work for you

so just keep a list of what mods you're using and then you can make a profile on r2modman with those mods

yes, so long as youre getting it from a safe place like thunderstore. Use a mod manager like r2modman, gale, or thunderstore app so you dont end up downloading DLLs from bad websites
