For now, the game is PLAYABLE offline, but it uses online aspects of Steam to track your progress, so you will not have any access to any content you've unlocked offline. HOWEVER, there are content unlocker mods that could probably allow you to play offline with all game content. (In other words, it doesn't use a local save file to track your unlockables. That may change but nobody knows for sure. A save system is fairly in demand right now; I strongly suspect they'll eventually add one.)

Just to offer data, I play with Steam Input on at all times, and my game has never crashed in dozens of runs. I've had one disconnect from a lobby, and I would bet that was a network connection issue that had nothing to do with my input device.

Well for me it messed up my game a lot even though my controller was semi compatible, not saying it’s an everybody thing but it was causing a lot of problems for me as a whole, turned it off and reset my laptop and everything was fine after that, usually tether my controller instead of Bluetooth so that might’ve been why
