yeah peak has very linear design. you can go whereever you want in the linear levels, but go horizontally and you'll find the edge of the map.

sometimes changing your mic to something else and then back fixes it. sometimes differing launch options (vulkan or dx12) can cause this. if neither you or your friend can run with different options to match, try relaunching the game, restarting your PC, or just hope it fixes itself. it does that sometimes.

might be an issue with whatever you're using to run peak on mac, since there's not native support. your GPU or integrated graphics might also not meet minimum.
also if you're launching with dx12 try vulkan, and other way around.
