The amount of work required is why we haven't done it to date (and removed it from pages that had it), but hopefully b42 will be a good fresh start with it. We'd start with the b42 changes, but hopefully one day go back and add info from older versions (at least up to the playable ones)

It could still be a challenge, and hard to maintain, but we'll see how it goes. And basic details is probably better than nothing

I went thorough all the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Occupations and did some minor cleanups here, will move to moodles, though few things I noticed

  • The foraging effects aren't added, except one on the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Park_Ranger โ€“ย they are on https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Foraging#Occupation though so maybe I'll add them later
  • I think the Effect in the infobox should be changed to Effects, not sure we want to change the variable too? Not many pages so far, so doable with a bot, pinging @proud cobalt for that
  • I also noticed the French ones don't have the navbox, it was all by ContUpsilon apparently, so I guess I can add it.

There were some minor changes too, I carried some to the French pages too.

Are there uh, rules on profanity in wiki usernames? My preferred username nowadays technically has profanity in itโ€”there's a couple usernames on the wiki with mild profanity in them but I'm worried they just slipped under the radar because they didn't make any edits.

Thanks for reaching out, we technically have a rule against profanities in usernames and currently there's no way to rename (I had to ban one offensive name sadly before), though I wonder how strict it should beโ€ฆ Probably better for indexing engines/SEO and potential law reasons (if there's such things) to have it indexed, so better to go with a safe nick, though OTOH nothing in the wiki is being censored from profanities, like texts that are verbatim and while Zomboid isn't rated itself, it's definitely targeted to adults anyway.

Speaking of Hydrocraft, I linked that fork as a potential update for https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Mods/Hydrocraft โ€“ there's also a semi-active Discord linked, seems they had set up their own wiki beside Undeniable one at one point, but the domain is dead now, so if for some reason turns out our could be repurposed, I'd say it's the way to go.

I also did minor changes to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Modding until we decide what to do with the mods, but like I mentioned several times, I don't mind sharing some of our wiki infrastrucutre for mods if anyone would want to, as long as it won't interfere too much ๐Ÿ™‚

I refreshed the Steam, GOG and Desura pages, I'll probably categorize the card/background/emote images and add appropriate emotes to the respective item pages, but I'm considering whether we need the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Steam#Gallery at all?

It currently has

  • an icon that's indeed there, but I'm not sure if it's a Steam exclusive or is it shipped with GOG as well?
  • Two screens of installing Project Zomboid (serve points, but not sure we need it?)
  • Turning Steam at start up (matter of preference really)
    The terms of servive and world converting are not unique for Steam either IIRC.

Or something like "Category:Sign images (straigthened)" or "Category:Straightened sign images"?

I think "Sign images" would be enough and another subcategory would be "Billboards" I guess, the only "problem" I could see is whether the unstraigthened versions (for movables tiles) would be mixed with them?

Just tested it and seems you're right. Jogging burns less calories than walking over distance (even sprinting is slightly better). Walking is only beneficial for preserving calories over time, but I don't really see a situation where this would be helpful, since jogging would give you more time to find food.
Here's my findings
Calories burnt per second:

  • Walking: 1.9 calories/sec
  • Jogging: 3.2 calories/sec
  • Sprinting: 4.1 calories/sec

Tiles per second:

  • Walking: 2 tiles/sec
  • Jogging: 3.8 tiles/sec
  • Sprinting: 4.6 tiles/sec

Calories burnt per tile:

  • Walking: 0.93 calories/tile
  • Jogging: 0.84 calories/tile
  • Sprinting: 0.91 calories/tile

it's the delay between shots, afaik, i.e. so a shotgun doesn't fire as quickly as an assault rifle. The numbers are just a modifier used by the game, like most of the other values, they don't mean anything on their own, just a way to compare with other weapons.
