Tofu ??? Are you crazy my boy XD No way, this is cheese "fromage" no way this can be apparented as tofu ๐ฑ it hurts my country ๐
We are kinda the cheese and baguette country to be honest
Yeah, no shit

And RJ
Also, cant wait for businesses page to become outdated the second b42 drops
And how did we found out about some of the incoming business locations?
Irvington isnt even on pz map yet, where did this info came from?
There was (is) some research in https://canary.discord.com/channels/136501320340209664/1195687717233770607 too
btw @proud cobalt I guess it's a task for a bot but we should update the template too, it seems that the locations in pages like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Pizza_Whirled/tr are wrong following the change to auto-link it ๐ค https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Pizza_Whirled/tr
brw @proud cobalt there's an extra newline between ==Usage== and the rest of the page.
Not sure what you mean
Oh, I was supposed to link to an example ๐ Some movables have double lines, I fixed some manually yesterday, might make a little bot task, I didn't add it to the actual tasks yet: https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Zippee_Market_Sign&curid=43991&diff=399569&oldid=399143
I hope we get a slurp and blurp in b42
and wine
wasnt that in the 0.1.5 version
Slow week ๐
Admittedly I've been preoccupied
But have some days off next week to get some more meta pages done
there were like only four edits yesterday
half of them by new accounts
things are slow indeed
stopped, almost
at least you have an excuse ๐
It happens, With all pages up to date things were bound to slow down. Life also gets in the way. Everything just happened to line up yesterday lol
I still have a backlog of things to do, but the wiki is overall healthy indeed, just the ironing out ๐
Indeed, got to take those breaks to avoid burn out
just found it funny everyone took a break at the same time
Yeah true, same for me haha
butterfly effect
Just the lv businesses
They are the least finished part of the wiki
Also, minecraft wiki gave me an idea
What if we add "history" to pages?
For everything?
That's the plan, yeah. We had it for some pages but it was unmaintained
I also linked TF2 wiki for that, I think it has some auto-generated notes
Are we going to be able to maintain thousands of pages with accurate history information?
How will this even work
And do we really need it_
autogenerated based on files would be a good start, comparing things like item properties and stats for starters
Would work for items, movables, vehicles I guess, maybe skills, crafting, moodles too, not much for locations and some abstract pages, though not every one would need have it. I personall see the most value in items TBF
Comparing current build with every version that had been released so far, which file does someone has to start looking for this?
Also just quickly glancing at TFT Update History, I am seeing many [Undocumented] patches, which means editors had to verify these changes manually
Is every change recorded in patch notes, with complete adequate information?
At least, not for some
As Ive seen previously, map updates aren't properly documented
Though item info usually is
yeah, that's why I think comparing files is the way to go, I always did compare the files in the scripts and lua folders to find what actually changed ๐
but yeah, doesn't have to be 100% accurate either
And not like we need to be all that precise
But isnt thats the point though
Maybe this is easier than it sounds&looks, just felt like a colossal task to me, simply becase the number of the pages and the amount of manual verification that has to be done by editors. But then I dont have enough knowledge to give more educated opinion
- I do personally find the history information irrelevant&space occupying in other wikis, but thats just a "reader" take so to speak.
(I am trying to carefully disagree lol)
Hopefully this works wonders and we wont have to verify every single tidbit of information then ๐
Anyhow, all the power to whomever supports this, I hope I was bellowing for nothing.
Well, guess right now it's not tackled ๐
No definitely not, the changes are usually along the lines of "Some minor balancing changes" with no details
The amount of work required is why we haven't done it to date (and removed it from pages that had it), but hopefully b42 will be a good fresh start with it. We'd start with the b42 changes, but hopefully one day go back and add info from older versions (at least up to the playable ones)
It could still be a challenge, and hard to maintain, but we'll see how it goes. And basic details is probably better than nothing
If someone had the scripts files for every single version, it wouldn't be impossible to do items being added, buffed and nerfed
g
A big concern imo.
We have the history on sledgehammer page
Which is decent
Though Id reorder it
Put links as names
Remove the "alpha" on top
I think IF we are really, really want to add complete and accurate history information to the wiki, for every single item, location, mechanic... an Indie Stone member involving and helping us will be inevitable. Maybe they got some detailed logs backed up and stuff, which might save many hours of manual labour
This looks decent indeed
If someone finds a way to have the script text files for every single update, items being added, buffed and nerfed could possibly be automated
Would look better after a rewamp
You and me both. Louisville needs done but the 19th was my 20th birthday so I took a break for a bit before and after. Happy to start again tonight though (assuming my friends don't invite me to play lethal company again)
Imo we have WAY more important things to tackle atm. Definitely something to consider for the future.
At this point I think the biggest hassle for build 42 on my end will be the world location refresh. Until @ruby moss updates the map we may have to just stick reupload on every location page until it gets done manually
@proud cobalt might ask for help with your bot for that
Should be easy enough due to all locations being categorized now
Late happy birthday
LV businesses need pages revamp, some of them lack content, others have very strange templates used, mainly hairdressers for some reason.
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Be_Beauty (as an example)
Ideally each building should get a page, (General Store, Pharmacy, Library, perhaps schools and others)
Im curious where this whole "containers" thing came from
I'm working through it. The Unnamed locations will get a page at a later date once the general pages for businesses are done, it'll link to those and have a table with locations similar to building multi location
I want to make sure all the unique pages are done first
It's slow going but I'm making progress. At this rate It might take a month or two
I'll be ramping up progress though and hope to get it done by the end of July
changing the icons for nutrition since they look awful right now
for some reason calories isnt updating but that's probably cache doing it's thing
I have kept it for some versions, the old depots should be downloadable from Steam, too.
Simple enough
It's always cache
yeah so the cache isnt updating
i replaced all the icons but they just dont appear
this is clearly server cache since i used Special:Purge to delete the cache on my end
Yeah it's known, there's very heavy caching on images
Have to give it at least 24 hrs
im marking a few files for deletion (old ones like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Knife_Chopping.png) since they have no reason to exist
Yeah, there's some duplicates left still, thanks!
We can probably go without these icons now. Not a fan of the new calories and carbs icons personally
May be your browser cache (ctrl + f5 on chrome). Should only take up to an hour for the server cache to update an image
The old water and food icons will most likely be changed with the new moodle images in b42 too ๐ค
yeah
it wasn't. the server cache is just really slow
yeah, it is heavily cached. ctrl+f5 won't help in most cases, sometimes purging the page helps, but not in case of images ๐
hard to judge what's better honestly, the plus I see is that they are from the game for sure, though
fits better with the other moodles
yo is there any better info for the painkiller wiki
its kinda like...... not usefull??
If you have anything else to add over the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Painkillers like the exact values of pain taken, feel free to! Other than thar, there's not much more to add, the distribution is there and the model is too
Trying to figure out how i would find that info, also how long it lasts would be super helpful
good point too, might need a deeper look indeed
most of the other pills have better info so I was pretty suprised at how bare minimum one of the more prominent ones were lol
not sure who was the last one adding that info ๐ Though good point nevertheless
Do you know how I could find the info for that?
I think it's in the lua files? If not, you'd have to get into th java code, which is possible, but not so straightforward ๐ค
Kinda tired now and a bit of short time tomorrow, so no promises I'll take a look soon, if no one replies here though, I think folks at #mod_support might be more technical ๐
Im trying to make a video going over all the medical items and noticed how bare bones it was compared to the others lol
thats not a bad idea actually thank you
Added an improve note for now with your points, so we don't forget though, thanks ๐
Pretty sure it's in java. We discussed painkillers recently. #pzwiki_editing message
Are we happy to remove them? Since we only use icons for moodles in other cases. I originally only added these because when the infoboxes were separate, the food infobox had icons for everything, except these
tty
There isnt that much to it
Painkillers remove pain
Unless you want to provide a math on how fast they do it
And maybe add tip about how it is useful with exercises
the only "drawback" would be they'd be scaled from 32 to 24 px, but not sure how troublesome it is, plus not sure if you wanted to make icons biggers anyway for mobile?
I went thorough all the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Occupations and did some minor cleanups here, will move to moodles, though few things I noticed
- The foraging effects aren't added, except one on the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Park_Ranger โย they are on https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Foraging#Occupation though so maybe I'll add them later
- I think the
Effectin the infobox should be changed toEffects, not sure we want to change the variable too? Not many pages so far, so doable with a bot, pinging @proud cobalt for that - I also noticed the French ones don't have the navbox, it was all by ContUpsilon apparently, so I guess I can add it.
There were some minor changes too, I carried some to the French pages too.
Should be fine just add it to bot tasks, gotta get to that when I get back into editing.
Also @digital helm do we want to add a task for link/move over redirect the following pages?
- https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Moodles โ Moodle
- https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Skills โ Skill
- https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Traits โ Trait
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Occupation is already singular
the moodles actually do link to moodle, that's why French pages link to non-existing page, they aren't redirected
there are many moodles, skills, etc so i don't think you should change that
probably move occupation to occupations
those pages list them all off
Pluralised page names are harder to link to and worse for search
i see
currently making the icons look better
comparison at the bottom with the alcoholic icon
looks good
Unsure about the poison one
Its not like how it is in game, is it?
it's the icon from the poisonous food
@lucid junco btw is it still needed, or safe to delete? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:TableStoryDinner.png
divinely
Ask @serene sage
If it's unused - dump it
yeah I used my own image to represent this table story
@languid kayak it can be sent to the shadow realm now
I think that would be very helpful.
Same with Items and Tiles eventually
yeah, and we're still on renaming it back to furniture and split movables from real tiles? As I didn't get myself onto it yet ๐
Hooray, Seahorse Coffee bombardment had stopped
I've reverted the poison icon back to the in-game poison icon, rather than the death moodle with a green tint
I've also locked the item infobox (I thought it already was). The changes made are stylistic, which come down to personal preference, so should be discussed first. Any changes can be proposed in the sandbox. Then ping @languid kayak or myself and we can discuss/make the changes
Thanks for the changes did to French ๐๐ป Don't hesitate to ping me when you want to inform me for French modifications ๐
I don't get it, we did a mistake ?
@distant osprey I just made a change to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Protection adding Any changes can be proposed on the sandbox. to the end of note
@robust latch too
no worries; wanted to ping you then noticed it's not yours works ๐
well, the original pages linked to redirect moodle instead of moodles. There was moodles/fr but not [moodle/fr], I changed all the links though we might rename them too ๐ค
Any value in even keeping this? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Windows It's all outdated info, not sure we could salvage much out of itโฆ Unless we'd make some windows-only troubleshooting which we likely won'tโฆ Same probably goes for Mac and Linux I guess?
I was actually gonna ping you for that and mark it for deletion
Tbh I don't see we need it
There's a lot of random shit like that we don't need tbh
I was aware of their existence, was considering bringing them up to date but I don't really see the point, c.f., https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Linux
These are rarely linked to, most in the old FAQ that at least got somehow updated, but nowhere else really: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Linux
I'd say it'd be best to nuke them and be done with them? Would remove the task while at it and maybe I woudl get myself to finally take a second look at the FAQs
btw @proud cobalt I was always wondering, is the link to the Reddit post about parsing Tdefs correct in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Seat_Yourself_Furniture#Phase_1_-_Stubs ? It links to something about blacksmithing, or is it an omission?
Yeah but you can ping me anyway, I'm in touch with all the other french contributors ๐
No point keeping them imo. I wouldn't know about Mac and Linux though. My assumption is that these were only relevant prior to steam
Yeah it's correct, open the google sheets link and change the sheet to 'Tiles'
@proud cobalt was there a plan for distribution/locations for tiles? Since some can be found in containers and placed in the world. Been looking at https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Antique_Oven
Also (again) bringing up the potential to rename 'distribution' to 'locations', as it would make more sense when not referring to item distribution. Would probably also be clearer for readers too
@languid kayak for that last part
0 plans for tiles to have them at the moment. I would say not before b42 map rework at all
I'm not against distro name change
I don't mind locations either; especially since items can be found elsewhere too (on zombies, starter items, annotated maps, random storiesโฆ)
I'll pop it into bot tasks then at some point
Are there uh, rules on profanity in wiki usernames? My preferred username nowadays technically has profanity in itโthere's a couple usernames on the wiki with mild profanity in them but I'm worried they just slipped under the radar because they didn't make any edits.
The username is just Stig Ol' Bitches (big ol' stitches), so not like, bigoted or directed at anyone, but I don't want to lose my account or have to get it renamed
I just went with my backup username instead
... I'm editing the food navbox template, and uh. Graham crackers and tortilla chips are included under "Grains"?
as is instant popcorn
I think I'll move beef jerky, crackers, dehydrated meat sticks, all the dried beans/lentils/peas, dry ramen noodles, graham crackers, instant popcorn, mac and cheese, pasta, and tortilla chips into the non-perishable section of the navbox, and I'll add TV dinners since it's not listed anywhere yet
I'm undecided on if I should move rice too, but I'm leaning towards yes
oh, and raspberry shortbread isn't nonperishable at all
Wow, it's all out of sortsโchocolate-covered doughnuts, frosted doughnuts, and jelly doughnuts are perishable as well
this is rapidly spiraling out of control! Pickled food isn't even nonperishable, so I figure maybe it should go under the plants category?
... oh, it's already there
I guess to reduce the changeset I could rename the navbox category to "Non-perishable and preserved foods"
Hey! Thanks for reaching out, we technically have a rule against profanities in usernames and currently there's no way to rename (I had to ban one offensive name sadly before), though I wonder how strict it should beโฆ Probably better for indexing engines/SEO and potential law reasons (if there's such things) to have it indexed, so better to go with a safe nick, though OTOH nothing in the wiki is being censored from profanities, like texts that are verbatim and while Zomboid isn't rated itself, it's definitely targeted to adults anyway.
feel free to! I did have plan to go through the foods at one point deeper, but I never did ๐ Keep in mind some categorization in item lists might be different than navbox too
Yeah, I just went with ZombieGirlSutures, which is my alternate and one that's grown on me more (mostly because I can use it...)
How strict is it currently?
And is it more strict than on wiki pages?
Although I suppose if the game already has swear words in it, then they can be used on wiki
Misleading, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate usernames are not allowed and will be banned indefinitely.
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Rules
Open to interpretation I guessโฆ
But how inappropriate thought?
That's what's open for interpretation I guess ๐ Probably best to avoid swear words for other reasons anyway (spam filters, seo whatever).
Actually, I noticed it was you @digital helm who added it back in 2018, should we elaborate on what inaproppriate is? I did ban one account over a sweat word in it
@robust latch what in https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Knox_Event&curid=11388&diff=399805&oldid=357795 is unverified?
I guess we can add that to easter eggs? Someone want to verify? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Talk:Easter_eggs&curid=36767&diff=400547&oldid=343739
Also, can someone verify this? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Talk:Trapping&curid=15003&diff=399621&oldid=77861 Seems Eerie isn't on Discord
@digital helm is it still under construction? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Title
The chronology had made up assumptions according to the TIS employee. Some or all of the speculations has to be removed to have more accurate article.
So we have to at some point "verify" it.
okay, gonna leave it as is then. Gotta trim some pages at https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Articles_requiring_verification at some point too, some low hanging fruits are still there ๐
(all removed now btw)
I'd probably simplify and go with 'preserved food' instead. The 'non-perishable' and 'perishable' categories are side categories anyway, so hard to categorise food in them effectively
It would've been added as a rule to fall back on in case we had to enforce it. Not necessarily enforced, unless it has to be. Something like bitches may be fine, unless it was targeted towards a particular person or group of people. I think the ambiguity with it is fine. Better to not have a name with any profanity in it imo
Probably not? It was just the doc that was wip. But if you think it's fine, happy to remove it
Preserved is more specific, not less, to me.
Yeah, non-perishable is too broad, as its items could go in multiple categorirs
I wouldn't consider mac and cheese or graham crackers to be preserved, but it doesn't perish. I can name it whatever, though, really
They already are.
Jarred foods are under both plants and non-perishable foods in the navbox.
Yeah. It's a mess. I was considering removing jarred foods from the non-perishable category... but, well, in the navbox template it's referred to as preserved_foods anyway.
Just visually referred to as nonperishable foods.
Foods have been hard to categorise for many years... Happy for you to play around with it, best to test in the sandbox though
You can't place traps near walls?
I believe trapper in Tanglewood has traps near walls in garage
jarred foods are technically perishable, they just lust a lot (almost indefinitive when kept frozen)
dunno, I'd have to test ๐
You can put traps near walls
Though not near windows
Player made walls
Player madde windows
After removing trap and trying to put it back
Though weirdly, some walls do block traps
I can put a trap on one side of the chair, but not on the other
You cant put them in front of doors
Main part is in front, you can put them on the back
I cant put it here for some reason
You can put them in doors, near containers or other furniture
Final answer - you can put traps near walls, but now windows or front of the doors
Traps wont be destroyed if you create any window
(or any other hoppable thing like frame or low fence)
Also, Ive been holding this out probably for too long
Ive compiled all of the straightened(as of B41) logos into one zip file. Im sure it has almost all of the relevant ones.
@proud cobalt All of the logos compiled, some of them are only present inside of tilesheets. Just in case you want to use ones from the game on their respective pages.
All of the working materials, aka all of the bits of signs compiled if anyone needs them in future
for some reason the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Traits#Trivia has a hyperlink leading to itself
Its redirected from "Trait", thats why
That'd be useful for signs movables I guess?
Also thanks for testing traps!
And thanks for replying on the wiki as well ๐
Awesome thanks for that
@distant osprey can you verify the quality of the mbox translation here?
Seems that this isn't translated ๐ค
I was sure that I translated all te mboxes, weird
Translated on my end
Weird indeed
I can screenshot gimme a sec
@distant osprey
That look on to you?
*ok
OH oh ! My bad, I was on the english page, my bad ๐
Yeah it's translated, sorry
Lmao
It doesn't look too weird gramatically?
I'm gonna start getting input from people because some of these translated pages are outdated as FUCK
@distant osprey meant to be a reply
Yeah that is a bit weird gramatically, I translated like a noob it seems xD
I'm gonna edit this.
You work on the FR pages tho ? ๐ฎ
Nope, but I do want to put translated mboxes on pages with other languages so that it's more communicated that readers of that language need to update the page.
It'll help us get more editors on different languages
At least I think so
If I encounter a page that's significantly out of date I want to notate it and whatnot
I'm as American as can be lol, I live in Florida and still hardly speak Spanish after all these years ๐
I am trying to learn tho
It seems that this isn't write the same thing, wtf
Inside the template model
The only weird phrase is "Il doit รชtre mis ร jour vers la version anglaise" it seems a bit weird.
It is meant to say "It needs to be updated according to the English version", however that is construed in French grammatical rules
This is why I contacted you lol
Yes but it seems I can't edit this sentence, it doesn't appear at all in the Mbox ๐ค
Is this editable via the page it's on ? Cuz the mbox itself doesn't show this sentence
new debug menu, from https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=40&v=uTxR7ELN4SA
Should be. If you're having trouble just reply here with the correct translation and I'll add it ๐
It's ok, I edit it properly now ๐
๐ซก
Interesting location bits in the latest thursdoid
Yall give it a read if you haven't already, there's some good stuff in there. Nothing crazy like last time bit some polishing and whatnot
News for foraging zones too
New lighting system looks amazing, I love it
I imagine there's gonna be quite a lot of new lore pages we'd have to make too, since we got stuff like newspapers etc
Yeah there's a whole project ready for lore related items
I like the crafting menu being shown, first time we see it till the very-WIP one
Ironically simplified crafting may be a life-saver for wiki, maybe we won't have to adjust the crafting that much while we are overhelmed by new additions (items, renames, balances/fixes, locations overhaulsโฆ)
btw, not sure you realized with the LSU Library, that the screenshot above is from PZmap while the screenshot below is from the game ๐
Makes sense as it's easier/convinient than launching a stable build just to take a picture, but interesting nevertheless ๐
Ready for deletion
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:ModdingFunction
Recipes are probably gonna be out of date
So will be the gallery, interior description of many chains
mixup https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Sawed-off_JS-2000_Shotgun
at the top is the normal shotgun, not the sawed off one
at the bottom is the sawed off
Thanks for pointing this out, feel free to fix mistakes yourself aswell
Hopefully not. We have enough shit to deal with lol
I wonder; do we really need that disambig? Is anyone really looking for Bulletproof Vest or BulletDefense or HaveChamber parameter when looking for a bullet? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Bullet_(disambiguation)
The rest of disambiguation pages are sane, just this one is weird https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Disambiguation_pages
I'd just register bullet into https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Ammo and maybe add a note (but I don't think it's that =important either)
@naive imp the two I kept as they were links back in the old main page to preserve translations, there's a few more pages like that, see the top of the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:ShortPages. We had a brief discussion with Vaileasys whether we want to have it like that to keep the translated names, especially now that Trasnaltion database is no longer there, though I wonder how will it be with Translate extension ๐ค
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Spiffo's/cs&curid=35273&diff=401749&oldid=396767
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Spiffo's/ko&curid=38193&diff=401751&oldid=396773
I also wonder about https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Testing_mods_in_multiplayer as it was created back in June 2023, so means after 41.78.16 https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Testing_mods_in_multiplayer&oldid=108137
But they aren't short pages though, they're literally blank. We have a history of deleting stuff like this, I don't see why a relic of previous translations that we don't even do anymore is a valid cause to keep them
We've also been moving away from a lot of guides on the wiki, so I wanted to ask what's the plan for archived guides?
They're hardly linked anywhere and are so outdated they're no longer helpful or useful 99 percent of the time besides the two beginners guides we have that may still be of some use
The other short pages are "blank" too, like the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Sunstar_Motel/cs I just kept the translations as DISPLAYTITLE back when I was moving pages ๐ค
But yeah, not sure how much we'd keep. There are some done by others too, like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Fear/fr
Right now they are archived, as we don't really have a better place to move them, they aren't linked to or updated, but just in case someone wants them, they are here. I don't think we'll be wanting more guides, Steam being a better place for them, though some are there for legacy reasons
Well if we're going to keep them I think they should be linked to somewhere
It's unlike any other disambig page. I agree Bullet should redirect to Ammo. I agree to get rid of it, and use About on the Ammo page. Having a disambig page linking to a disambig page is also a no go.
Because if not then Noone will find them and then what's the point of them being here
Theyre just archived shouldnt be linked to
I'm not sure of my opinion on blank pages for translations previously, but right now I don't think we should have them. Yeah it looks messy, but it still has it in English, and being a red link shows that the page doesn't exist, so needs to be created.
I agree, not much point keeping them imo. If they're not being archived to preserve the history of the game then I think they should be deleted.
They'll be autolinked if someone copies the navbox, but we don't have much active czech edits recently and even more so korean ones as of late ๐
I moreso meant the guides akin to @digital helm
As far as the places goes, just keep in mind there's more beside Spiffo's
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Spiffo's/cs
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Spiffo's/ko
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Twiggy's/ko

https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Nolan's_Used_Cars/pt
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Nolan's_Used_Cars/pt-br
^ these were translated back when they were linked at the main page, that's why the translation were moved to DISPLAYTITLE back then.
There's more similar pages like that, some were remnant of untraslated English pages that were just copied like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Crossroads_Mall/zh-hant (see the history)
That's why I linked to the short pages, these are easiest to find that way ๐
Aaaaah
It's 7:56 here in freedomland I woke up an hour ago lol
I've been taking a look at https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Testing_mods_in_multiplayer and it's heavily linked to, including the main page at https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Modding and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Navbox_modding โย are we really wanting for it to be gone totally? I never tried modding so hard for me to judge what's useful and what not ๐ค
may be fine if it were updated and in a different writing style (I never tested mods on multiplayer)
I will admit I was likely overzealous with that one
But it could use improve mbox
It looks up to date to me, at least from my modding days mid b41. Was also created June last year, so after latest update. Should just need to be rewritten
I'll do some cleanups on my break
Just scrubbed a fuckton of animal kennels (I work at an animal shelter)
@naive imp
Delete|Following discussion on discord, guides that are not archived to preserve game history should be deleted
I remember having a brief discussion, but I think I said they are fine to keep with the achive? They are archived already, so unless link to removed pages, not much mainteneance burden, especially as I don't think these are copies of some Steam ones?
I though vail said to delete them?
pinging @digital helm for opinion too.
Though as far as removing stuff, I think I should get myself to remove the HC icons, I think it's time for it ๐
Here
I must have missed that bit then, the guides are all in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Archived_guides btw
And the all guides are here: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Guides (some are not 100% guides, some might not be linked; the modding pages were typically a guide-like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Modding
All good, it happens ๐
Wasn't there discussion somewhere that https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Buying_and_running_a_Linux_Project_Zomboid_server would have some value after being brought up to date? It's still linked in various pages and it was originally written by Connall ๐ค
Other I think it's indeed time to go, someone stumbling upon them might indeed get fake idea of wiki being outdated or just find irrelevant info
I doubt there's anything to move to any of the relevant pages in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Building_a_safehouse anymore? Pinging @proud cobalt for that as it was originally cut off the carpentry page, you might remember it ๐
Dont think so, any relevant information went into each page, the rest is just game tips
I think the noise being generated is mentioned too? Speaking of which https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Noise is pretty lackluster, ideally having range for each would be ideal ๐
Didnt even know this page existed
Yeah, I linked it on the main page some time ago, but other than that it's not much linked to
Though it is linked 43 times https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Noise
(often from non-English pages though)
About these though, are we keeping them for now till translate extension comes for now or not? Don't want the Spiffo's one to stay in the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Pages_requested_for_deletion and I'm not sure what's the best course of action ๐ค
Actually, I wanted to remove https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Mods/Hydrocraft from https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Hydrocraft_mod but realized it's being used as an example in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Mod ๐ค
I guess the idea of having mods was never really used much. Which at one hand we barely are up to date with what we have, but the idea of mods having their own pages co-existing with the regular ones would be interesting and would probably alleviate some lesser-functional wikis on GitHub or community discussions, or, at time of its popularity, even the undeniable one ๐
BTW, I'm adding foraging bonuses to each occupation pages now, is the table at https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Foraging#Occupation 100% right? Does it mean that Fire Officer have +5% ignore weather and +10% ignore darkness while others have minuses? Does it mean a malus?
Also, fisherman has 1.0 search radius but others don't have it filled; is it the same?
oh, it's a radius bonus so I guess it's a flat bonus being added
btw, I just realzed, now it's Vertex Break being mentioned in https://projectzomboid.com/blog/about-us/ in place of https://pzwiki.net/wiki/General_Arcade @tulip kiln you think it warrants a new article or should it be pushes to the GA article?
The Indie Stone TIS began as four people working out of the UK and Canada to create their vision of the ideal zombie survival game. During the hair-raising rollercoaster ride of Zomboidโs development the core initial team gained a raft of contributors, zed enthusiasts, technical support boffins and close friends who were similarly dedicated to [...
Eh no idea tbh. Noiseworks and formosa don't have seperate pages but they're still the same company they just got bought out.
While Vertex Break is a splinter company
Depends on if you'd consider it enough to warrant a new page or something, cause there's not a shit ton about em since it seems not too long ago they made the company
Vertex Break is a young team with extensive experience in custom engines, optimization, and platform adaptation for platforms including Steam/Steam Deck, GOG and EGS.
it was also sort of difficult to try and figure out which dev was with which company, it'd be difficult to figure out which devs stayed and which ones went to join Vertex.
Earliest mention I see of em, a community showcase blog in April, so fairly recent I guess
Not too sure if it's even a splinter company actually. Their linkedin says it was founded in 2023. But we had no mention of em until a blog in April this year. So it seems like some existing studio that some guys from Arcade joined rather than those guys founding a new studio entirely
@naive imp I think there's on empty location here? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Taco_del_Pancho
Okay, I removed the old HC item images, if anyone still needs them, the most current ones are e.g., on the most current fork here: https://github.com/robotex140/Hydrocraft/tree/main/Contents/mods/Hydrocraft/media/textures โ ours were never completed in the first place (4000+ items after all) and wasn't used so were cluttering https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:UnusedFiles which I'll be cleaning further ๐
Speaking of Hydrocraft, I linked that fork as a potential update for https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Mods/Hydrocraft โ there's also a semi-active Discord linked, seems they had set up their own wiki beside Undeniable one at one point, but the domain is dead now, so if for some reason turns out our could be repurposed, I'd say it's the way to go.
I also did minor changes to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Modding until we decide what to do with the mods, but like I mentioned several times, I don't mind sharing some of our wiki infrastrucutre for mods if anyone would want to, as long as it won't interfere too much ๐
I wonder more about the Greenfire, this mod seems to be technically compatible with b41 but seems kind abandoned? https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/1703604612/2990917484136241418/?ctp=12#c4351121630177613057
Though the last update wasn't that far away as poster suggests: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/changelog/1703604612
Hard to say if/which any of these mods will see resurgence in b42 or die for good ๐ค
Especially with the amount of stuff b42 adds
(there's also some unused icons from the mod)
not sure I agree with https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Louisville_Annotated_Maps&curid=50855&diff=402617&oldid=401795 https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=March_Ridge_Annotated_Maps&curid=50859&diff=402619&oldid=384467 https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Muldraugh_Annotated_Maps&curid=50861&diff=402621&oldid=384469 https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=West_Point_Annotated_Maps&curid=50871&diff=402623&oldid=398773
These are definitely WIP/underconstruction and adding more page to improve/stub won't really help us much here?
I was under the impression that wip was only for articles in active development. They've been abandoned for a month now while people take breaks.
It also says in the category for wip articles and the mbox itself to replace it with improve if not edited for a while
If anything when mid returns he'll get right on em anyway
That's what he was working on before so I personally don't see the harm in it, but like all things discussion matters ๐
yeah, we had things sitting on wip for I think years previously lol. Indeed we have a vague reasonable amount of time in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:WIP_articles ๐
Yeah, wip is for things under active development. If they're abandoned, it should be replaced with improve or another relevant notice.
Glad to see them gone tbh. Thanks!
As mentioned separately, I'm just concerned readers won't be able to distinguish whether something is part of a mod or the base game. They'll frequently ignore mboxes and just scroll to the content.
A separate 'Mod' namespace might help with that.
Also, as we've seen with mods previously, they tend to get abandoned then become our problem to figure out what to do with them
not sure they are abandoned but Mid is definitely on a break now ๐ They are stubs pretty much with placeholders
I'll throw the idea for a namespace to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Modding โ hard to find anyone remotely interesting in both the modding or taking care of the mods ๐ I still am thinking about sorting out the subpages of script guides and so on and linking them to infoboxes too. Those are the last two areas using subpages.
I also wonder, having Mod: namespace would probably prevent them from popping in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:RandomRootpage ?
oh nvm, it's https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:Random that's wrong. We should take a look whether it's possible to change that to RandomRootpage in Citizen?
(the dice icon)
@naive imp I'm continuing cleaning unused files; will https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:SweetPea.png be needed? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Sweet_Pea_Restaurant has multi location which doesn't support interiors, unless we want a gallery on those pages? (I think it was discussed briefly)
Also not sure about this one https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:LSRS.png
I changed it fairly recently to change based on language of current page, rather than always English https://pzwiki.net/wiki/MediaWiki:Randompage-url
It's not perfect, as it includes all namespaces (maybe even categories?). I need to add a check so it only goes to the main namespace. It used to just be Special:RandomRootpage
yeah, I realized the one built-in to search bar in Citizen is not adjusted though
not sure if we can do that ourselves or should we make an issue upstream for that
hmm... I never noticed that ๐ค not sure how to change that one
I've been thinking of splitting non-ingame logos from the in-game ones in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Logos to have them split
Like https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:TIS_logo.png is currently there
Are we gonnachange the name of category or just move out the relevant images out of there?
Some of the logos are in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Wiki_admin_images already too
I would want to move the business/location logos out and into a subcategory. I'd do this by moving everything into that category with a bot, then manually move the non-business/location logos out and back into logos (a lot less manual work)
For now I created a https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Company_logos as a stopgap for TIS and other ones out of https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:UncategorizedFiles
cleaning that up a little too ๐
This is good too
If it's unused then yeah feel free to delete. I briefly thought about adding galleries to those pages but I decided against it due to the fact they can just click on the coordinates in the template
Stands for Liquorty-Split RiverSide. Basic name scheme I came up with while doing the majority of location pages.
Basically Name of business and then the Town. I.e. WARLV means Wok And Rolls LouisVille
If it's unused feel free to delete, I don't like unused files either lol
That's why I mark so much shit for deletion ๐
I'm all for a Mod namespace. I don't think mods fit into the main namespace either
(Oooh look at me with my WikiText knowledge lol)
I've been trying to learn a bit more if you guys haven't noticed ๐
I still cant get over the SUS RS
I personally think that interior shot of the location that has logo/name is a bit pointless
it kinda duplicates what's on the map, now that Think mentioned that users could click on coords; sure, it requires leaving pzwiki though, so depends on the usecase, that might not be convenient
One issue I have with the pzmap and wiki interiors though is that you can't see what's next to a wall sadly ๐ฉ
I refreshed the Steam, GOG and Desura pages, I'll probably categorize the card/background/emote images and add appropriate emotes to the respective item pages, but I'm considering whether we need the https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Steam#Gallery at all?
It currently has
- an icon that's indeed there, but I'm not sure if it's a Steam exclusive or is it shipped with GOG as well?
- Two screens of installing Project Zomboid (serve points, but not sure we need it?)
- Turning Steam at start up (matter of preference really)
The terms of servive and world converting are not unique for Steam either IIRC.
Thoughts?
Also, if anyone want to add or fix something on https://pzwiki.net/wiki/GOG or https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Desura feel free to โย for GOG I'd have to take a look how IWBUMS works and for Desura I could add the proper logo (the one we have on wiki is really old; we don't have the new one too)
@lucid junco do you have plans on straigthening these ones?
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Beever's_live_music_sign_logo.png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Loans_cash_jewelry_pawn_shop_sign.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Loans_cash_jewlery_pawn_shop_2.png (the same logo)
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:West_maple_country_club_logo_2.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:West_maple_country_club_logo_3.png
Seems these are the only ones that are not straighened but similar others are (these are used just in galleries, but still)
And the Louisville club one
And Oasis one
Unless they are already
Though no probably?
Egh, dunno
Wasn't planning to do it due to them being generic/ non important
But it isn't too hard
Maybe when I'm back from Greece
sure, np ๐
And these two? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Dotty4Donuts_Riverside.png https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Dotty4Donuts_Riverside_interior.png
First one seems to be duplicate of https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:D4D_RS.png
I wonder if this https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Stairs_Piece.png is worth using in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Wood_Stairs ?
A lot of the screenshots seem a bit pointless. The icon could be re-uploaded as the ico file (converted to PNG) instead of a screenshot. But yeah, I don't think it's exclusive to Steam.
The installing ones seem a bit pointless.
Instructions for nosteam are fine. Could be nearer though.
Change ==Distribution== to ==Location== Task should now be complete
Thank you
well, now that school is over for me (for now), Iโm slowly returning to working on the wiki more frequently
anyway while go over the article for b42 Iโve noticed it used this image to apparently show the new fishing minigame: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Fishing_Minigame.png
meanwhile thereโs literally no fishing at all in the image
not even a body of water
The instructions aren't for nosteam though, as in launching without Steam, just making the Steam stopping running when PC is on. THough maybe they could be repurposed with performance options I believe we have in FAQ?
I know most folks are on Steam, but I guess GOG folks could use some acknolegment at least and in general pages we shouldn't assume everyone's on Steam either ๐
the whole FAQ should be Steam-agnostic if possible ๐
Yeah, seems it's just a YouTube preview
but the screencapped bit can be indeed better ๐ค
Which times nice with me still marking your maps as WIP back again yesterday in case you want to get back to them ๐ https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:WIP_articles
I guess these two should be categorized as logos?
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Billboard_advertising_Egenerex.png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Billboard_advertising_NNN.png
Since we have https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Annesia_perfume_for_her_billboard.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Slurp_Burp_Logo.png in there?
Or do we want another category for it?
Dont forget spiffo ones
And maybe car/ trailer ones too?
It's a screenshot from the start of the video. Pretty sure it originally linked to the video when clicked
Thanks! You think having them grouped together with logos you straighened or should they be in different categories? Though right now in that category there are other logos anyway, like the town logos on the maps
tbh, I glossed over it on my phone, assumed it was for the nosteam parameter
Dunno, maybe create a sub category for them
Could be useful for b42 since Im sure there will be ads in newspapers
Well, the Kentucky Herald is from teased b42 content
These are from vehicles?
as https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Annesia_perfume_for_her_billboard.png had to be straigthened for example ๐ค
Then I think "Advertisements" subcategory can be made
Then all adverts, from billboards, advert trailers, newspapers etc can go there
maybe we should just retire "logos" or just use it as an umbrella category and have "signs" and "adverts" inside? Something to rethink I guess? Pinging @digital helm for that too ๐ค
Yeah I'm happy with that. Pretty much how I imagined it after we starting getting more business logos
Sounds reasonable
I'll take a look later, no ETA when though, mght not be today or later today ๐
so if anyone want to beat me to it, feel free to ๐
hey guys
says here you need 2 sheet ropes per level to make an escape rope
just tested with a 3 floor building and 3 ropes, its 1 per floor
can someone please fix?
You are welcome to create an account and fix that mistake, we could use some help! Seriously please, help
is it one rope per floor or one rope per floor plus one?
1 per floor including the one youre standing on
so if youre on the 3rd floor
you need 3 ropes
made the change!
let me know if the way i phrased that was awkward. i wanted to highlight the fact that it includes the level you're on but also that it's only one sheet rope per level
haha, just beat you to it
got to the edit bit and its changed lol
and yeah i think it reads fine
i was gonna write the same thing
cool cool
wait did you edit this too or was this here previously
lol i didn't touch that
pretty funny though
i guess whoever originally wrote the other part just rappelled down one floor, saw that it used two sheet ropes, and extrapolated from there
yeah sounds about right
I don't think the tweets linked at https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Knox_Event&curid=11388&diff=405991&oldid=399805 are meant to be interpretated as they happened in-game? Pinging @robust latch for that; can ask Pat to make sure I guess, but I believe those tweets were adressed to players, not the world
Seems we got some new info with handy maps from https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:Contributions/Jecowa in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Player_spawning https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Spawning โย I wonder if it'd be better to move the maps to respective pages? Pinging @naive imp for that:
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Muldraugh#Starting_locations
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Riverside#Starting_locations (this lacks table)
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Rosewood#Starting_locations
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/West_Point#Starting_locations (entirely missing)
Though I guess some of the generic info could be left, wouldn't it better to name the page starting locations? Also not sure if spawning is needed as disambig page?
The generic page could tackle spawning at safehouse, too
in multiplayer servers
The 2023 one? Yeah... that shouldn't be there. It's just to provide more lore and details about the outbreak, almost as if twitter existed at the time, or it was happening today. It was inspired by this twitter account https://twitter.com/1996ID4 (or a similar one?). It's for the player's, not happening in-world July 2023
Tweeting the sights, sounds, & news from 1996's historic alien attack & subsequent global (read: American) military response in real time. #IndependenceDay #ID4
Awesome stuff! It's a fair bit of work adding this
I prefer starting locations too. Not sure a disambig page is needed either, but doesn't hurt having it.
Yeah I don't think the Knox Event twitter was canonically someone recalling the outbreak. Just something to provide more lore.
That and I don't think it needs to be said that humanity won. It's already obvious that humanity will survive, just that your characters won't live to see humanity recover.
I agree, this was adressed to players, has no intrinsic lore value
yeah, removed that and replied to the person, hope they undestand ๐
i se you replied too, good ๐
yes we need new soldiers, unstable can come out any second
Zomboid is the real life ๐
btw @digital helm I guess we can remove that now? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Bleach_SuicideSpawn.jpg
Outdated and we have survivor stories covering it now ๐
I removed it in https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Bleach&action=historysubmit&type=revision&diff=406141&oldid=402997 though it's linked elswhere too
yeah, happy for it to go
removed it
I'm working through it. I'm going to standardize the format and then move the spawn locations to dedicated sections for now, getting all locations up to date takes priority over spawn locations
(Unless someone wants to take them up as a side project)
A lot of the stuff they added is useful info bit just needs cleanups
@languid kayak just cleaned em up now, but I'm going to leave the player spawning page for later unless you or someone else wants to tackle it ๐
I prefer the "starting location" naming, though spawn term might indeed be known too
They're still under starting location
Saying I moved the ones he added as "spawn points" to "starting location"
how do i copy an entire page if i just wanna translate it
was looking at for example crafted fishing rods in ru
Just edit it and ctrlc ctrlv
At least I did it this way
hmm aight
Yeah just copy paste it into the text editor
@lucid junco, https://pzwiki.net/wiki/ARRA_Pitch this does have some "Russian Lore", I did my best but if you want to add&remove&edit something go for it
Also too lengthy names are causing issues in transcript template, so I had to go with Ivan instead of Ivan Strugatsky.
Doesn't ring a bell for me, looks like a take on banditism and business bandits that were on rise during the post Soviet 90s
Maybe when I take a look at it back in my apartments it will make more sense
Alright
May just be a reference to them without any specific ties
I thought that it was a reference to MMM at first glance (the first financial pyramid in post Soviet countries)
But I dont think so
I obviously dont knit enough cause i didnt even know this was a word for anything other than a split
made my first actual wiki correction that i didnt relegate to someone else ๐
also just realised the rest of the changes are in english
lmao
lemme fix that
making a mess of that page with my undo and redo damn
alright, done. did it for practice and most is really copy pasted from the main page with some edits specific to the crafted rod. Seems like the main wiki page did the same thing though lol, so not sure how accurate the stats are since I used the english page as base
@lucid junco have a look and see if I missed anything
also how do I change this
Don't worry about it too much. It happens. Wiki editing is a learning curve, you'll get it down no problem.

that right?
No real rules about the edit messages, I guess I prefer English, but it's not really enforced
@languid kayak @digital helm very minor nit but I've been going through site maintenance and the original NoticeBox template is still in there lol
Very very minor but I figured I'd mention it
Been superceded my mboxes for like ever lol
Yeah, have been slowly working through it. Just needs the old documentation removed first
Wasn't actually that much left using it... so NoticeBox is removed now ๐
Just need to remove the rest of the templates using /doc so we can move Documentation/sandbox to Documentation https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere?target=Template%3ADocumentation&namespace=&hidelinks=1&hideredirs=1
Okay, <@&1205891296565268520> โ first Sunday of the month marks a monthly summary, so here it is https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:News#June_2024_summary โ while lazier month than others, we even got nasKo to contribute this month ๐

Also @lucid junco and @naive imp any idea whether we should put https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Offices_logo.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Snacks_stall_logo.png + https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Restrooms_stalls_logo.png somewhere? These are currently unused
Louisville ready prep has one of each, can't send a coords link on mobile. Just north east of the refinery
@naive imp this is a list of the currently unused location screenshots, not sure I'll go one-by-one of them, so just in case you want to, here they are. Just evaluate whether they are needed anymore, and if not, mark them for deletion, I'll go through them later then โ or just add to pages so they don't appear in unused files

Seems they both are different items; the long one is the Property Sign, the small one is Army Property Sign
I reflected that in https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Army_Property_Sign and removed the redirect for now
Snacks&restroom were meant to go to the "stalls" page, which is still not even in the making
"Offices" was planned to be added to Offices page in CL. I thought about creating a different pages for both but thinkdock said to put them in one.
Do we have the latter? (Central LV Offices page)
All of them can wait though, just so they won't be forgotten ๐
Its Offices (LSU campus) I believe
Isn't that a different logo though? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Offices_(LSU_Campus)
It is, but thinkdock said that they can go into the same page
Interesting
They have same name, are not that far from each other, and arent some important/distinct business
We couldn't name them both properly since they were close to each other and had bo distinct landmarks, so combining them into one is a compromise
makes sense I guess, though I think having two pages wouldn't hurt that much either? Do you have the coords for the second one? I can't find it at glance ๐ค
They are quite far from each other tbh, though I agree hard to call it part of a franchise; OTOH we have all the clothing stores and shops that don't have signs for one reason or another, so maybe they should have separate pages too? Pinging @naive imp for opinion again?
second location is https://map.projectzomboid.com/#12482x1970 btw
Im fine with separate pages, my main issue was lack of landmarks to name them, since they both are Offices (Central Louisville)
can separate them further, like central lousiville - north then
Okay, I'm slowly getting to categorizing images to hopefully have them all sorted like I said in the blog post and following my discussion earlier, how do you guys think the straigtehend logos category should be called? It'd be under https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Logos and should I simply call it "Category:Sign images"? Or something like "Category:Sign images (straigthened)" or "Category:Straightened sign images"?
I think "Sign images" would be enough and another subcategory would be "Billboards" I guess, the only "problem" I could see is whether the unstraigthened versions (for movables tiles) would be mixed with them?
Pinging @lucid junco and @digital helm for opinions, but as always, anyone's free to respond ๐
Maybe Category Sign images and 3 sub categories
- Signs straightened
- Signs original(?)
- Billboards
Also no idea where to categorize https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Steam images (cards, backgrounds, emotes), should I make three categories or put it into one?
- Steam images
vs - Steam trading cards
- Steam badges
- Steam emoticons
- Steam backgrounds
Keep in mind the Spiffo ones are classified as Spiffo images too.
The signs original depends how many signs we'll cover ๐ I guess we'll only cover the movable ones, so just the ones that can be picked and moved ๐
I think it will become just another dump of images(signs)
Though billboards definitely wont be in it, since they aren't movable, nor useful angled
And there will be no logos from outside of the game, I believe they were in the same category
But it won't help out with trailer/vehicle adverts, since they would either go to straightened, or another category all together
This category is really vague too
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:People_images
I guess it could be more detailed, as it's supposed to only consists TIS team photos, not everyone's photos, we have e.g. someone's unrelated photo on talk page https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Renmar_Arnejo.jpg
Then there's some other TIS things that I don't know where to cover like:
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Fox_Chaotica_Profile_Pic.png
or things from previous works:
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:The_Forgotten_Element_cover.png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:TFE_9.png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:PAWS_Logo.png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:PAWS_Friends.jpg
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:PAWSScreenSmall.jpg
I want to have category for user images too, though some devs are also editors ๐
I moved the company logos to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Company_logos which is a subcategory of Logos.
There are more logos though (PAWS, Forgotten Element or logos for platforms such as Desura, Steam, GOG and Humble (the X/Reddit/Facebook/Twitch logos are just part of the interface)
Also not sure what to do with these:
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:US_31W.png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Seal.png
With the company logos, shouldn't we include the current TIS logo and label the one on there as an old logo?
the old logo is labeled, but I just realized I made a typo for this to categorize ๐
It was in the "Category:Company Logos" (uppercase L), non-existing category ๐
Also with the President seal logo, maybe make a ingame government category logos/signs?
About these, I guess I can dump them as logos once straightened ones are in their subcaegory too
Because I'd imagine Kentucky State Prison is part of the government so that'd also fit in that category.
Or just an "other" category for stuff that doesn't fit into the main ones
Not sure how many we'll getโฆ I want to have separate category for newspaper logos for build 42 too
we actually have the kentucky herald there
Maybe they'd just fit in a misc one then if there's not too many to have a category for.
Well, so far just these two plus platforms (Desura, Steam, GOG, Humble doesn't even have a page and not sure it's needed)
Also dunno if this is a good idea or not, but maybe with the newspapers, we make a category for just "News/media"
the logos are used in the respective pages + userboxes
So you put the news stations/radio station logos in that category too
I would like to have straigthened logos from Sharpgolden separate from anything else though ๐ Makes future mainteneance easier
Oh yeah I dunno if anyone agrees with this or not but when 42 does come out, should we put a decent-sized banner on the main page warning people that a significant amount of pages have changed or are subject to change soon?
dunno if we did that with 41 or not
yeah pages not updated to 41.78.16 had a disclaimer for example, but for the majority of b41 iwbums i dont remember seeing an indicator
but also the wiki was in a m,uch worse state
Just create a large "Sharpgolden" category/j
Oh and there's taxi adverts too. I think decals could be subcategory of logos, might as well do it now, since it's easy
And I'm just always confused
this is billboard (angled): https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Annesia_perfume_for_her_billboard.png
This is also billboard, was it angled originally? https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Billboard_advertising_Egenerex.png
I guess I should study the files you shared to grasp all the logos you did ๐
Some are recreated too, I had a brief discussion with Vaileasys about these, but we came to no conclusion ๐
If by "originally" you mean "in game files" then they were angled
and the ones on taxis?
But if you mean "originally uploaded" - then almost no billboards were uploaded on wiki before
Straight thankfully
They are part of the vehicle texture
Can group the taxi ones for now then, as if we'd get more in the future we can straight up dump them ๐
Well, maybe not so straight but with less effort for sure ๐
Trailer adverts were also part of the trailer texture
So they were already straight
In game files
As a png
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Cross_roads_mall.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Crossroads_mall_logo.png
as well as https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Twiggy's.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Twiggy's_logo.png
And the old versions of https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Fossoil_logo.png and https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:Gas2Go_logo.png
(these were the recreated ones, oh and not sure about Pohly's Hit Vids)
I didn't bothered, but there is also an unused spiffos advert instead of wok&rolls
There is a bit of a dilemma with both gas2go and fossoil
Their logos have extra bits after and before the logo
And Im not sure wether we should include them or not
Will create category for table stories later too https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:TablestoryBreakfast.png but gotta go now so will think of it later ๐
I'm happy with Sign images. We don't need to be too picky with it, so long as it's clear enough
We are going to need someone with good Music knowledge to approach most of the CD's otherwise the only context I can add to those will be like "Yeah this is a Pop song, this is a poem, this is a rock song". Most of them dont really have a direct lore&Project Zomboid reference. In any case I am worried CD'S will become too plain but that just might be their inevitable fate.
Maybe someone with keen understanding of Music that mayhaps nitpick a trivia information out of these CD's, IDK.
We had a testing mbox, but I don't think many people used it, but also b41 quickly became the version everyone was playing. So scrapped it and just carried on with updating to b41.
The current page version mbox that's on every page will change based on the version number. If it's b42, it'll indicate that the page has been updated to an unstable/beta version. https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Template:Page_version#Example
Could also ask Pat for help. He wrote most if not all the CD and VHS
I'm awful with recognising music just from the lyrics even when they're the right lyrics
I will hereby consult to him then.
@thin cloud, if you could help us with mining information out of CD's. See https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Sarcastic, or https://pzwiki.net/wiki/A_Boy_from_Kentucky for example. Thanks in advance.
For now they can go in the same page. I'll expand on all the Unnamed businesses later after Louisville and Doe Valley are done
The logo is literally the same just a different color
I feel we're being too nitpicky on this one
I should be able to go through them later tonight
Snacks stall and restrooms can probably be deleted
@naive imp Are we going to add Jamieton as a small village/community in the Doe Valley?
Eh I don't think so. Name is unconfirmed and it's too small
Might be just the name of the business
@languid kayak @digital helm opinion?
BTW the @Wiki Admin doesn't work
maybe, I just want it gone from being unused image ๐
would be nice for it to be set up, anything preventing @Wiki Admin on being pingable @vital raptor?
Not all music is a direct reference but a lot of it is. I won't spoil them though, that's no fun
What if we ask nicely? ๐ฅบ
I've never heard it referred to as Jamieton. It may well be named that, but I'd hold off until there's confirmation somewhere
We're actually pretty prepared to get infoboxes, code boxes, Distributions, etc done automatically on day 1 which is really cool. Actual article content will have to be done manually

@digital helm @languid kayak
There is a "Brian ๐" written on the map
Is this documented on the Easter eggs page?
And also @quaint drift
o
it is documented btw, its just it isnt really that noticeable to have a picture for it
Oh well, still a nice find
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Robinson_Crusoe_-_Audio_Book
Hmm.. Robinson Crusoe..
Daniel Defoe...
What could it possibly reference?
We will have to find that out for every CD unfortunately
VHS's isnt that bad because they are mostly either too plain or packed with PZ lore
But honouring CD's is going to be difficult, finding real world references and whatnot
the joke is that this one is the literal novel in an audiobook https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robinson_Crusoe
Robinson Crusoe ( KROO-soh) is an English adventure novel by Daniel Defoe, first published on 25 April 1719. Written with a combination of Epistolary, confessional, and didactic forms, the book follows the title character (born Robinson Kreutznaer) after he is cast away and spends 28 years on a remote tropical desert island near the coasts of Ve...

@thin cloud , once you have asked here if there are problems with RecordedMedia;

Dont think this is intentional?
Nearly all of them are from unreleased "Paws" game to my understanding
Dog Goblin IV: Zero Gravity ------------ Bottom one should be like this
Not really
Fluffyfoot the Fluffy Bunny
Is the only bunny in paws
@robust latch https://pzwiki.net/wiki/New_kitties!
Broken formatting
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Cities_of_the_World_-_Paris
French text is broken @robust latch
Feel free to fix it ..?
Oh
had to google what a soiree is
Tf is that
Broken letters? Can you elaborate?
I swear soiree had a broken letter in it.. Maybe im seeing things
๐
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Molly_june_30
Broken formatting then
Intentional. Dog 4oblin is the unofficial title, like Driv3r or Se7en
Uncultured swine! (I only know it because it's the cool suit you get near the start of Vice City)
i fixed it
I thought I was going crazy already
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Final_Regards
Another one broken
That's it
You dont have to share every single broken formatted article here, its an easy fix that you yourself can do, and has an mbox that literally says it can contain weird formatting. What you are doing is pointless.
Also, no you didnt: https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Molly_june_30&action=history
?
You have said that you fixed https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Cities_of_the_World_-_Paris
talking about the soiree part
i responded that i fixed this
sharp just deleted it cause he didnt realise i fixed it
Now* it makes sense
mhm
Couldnt have known better myself because he deleted the original message, therefore i corellated that with one of the remaining links, but alas
im googling Champs-รโฐlysรยฉe and it gives me Champs-รlysรฉes, which I'm sure is the right way to spell it but I think the original VHS might have had it written as alyzes or something? it doesnt even ahve an s at the end
Champs-รlysรฉe in the text file
Sorry for confusion ๐
I couldn't fix it myself since Im still on vacation and I don't have my account logged in my phone. And even if I could someone would still have to check it out in game files to be sure that, in case of broken letters, its only present in wiki.
And Ive deleted the "Up with the Jones" link since soiree was fixed the second time Ive looked at it, so I thought it wasn't broken in the first place and I had some weird browser bug. But It turns out Frogski had already fixed it
But 4oblin and Goblin IV at once? Usually the number is omitted, so the next installmnet should be Dog Goblin V which is what Ksilem meant I guess?
Nah, they're the same item. VHS: Dog Goblin IV is the itemDisplayName and Dog 4oblin: Zero Gravity is the title
Maybe we should add this difference to the infobox ๐ค have the infobox title the itemDisplayName, then have a title, subtitle and author parameter
Its as if the title was 2 fast 2 furious but everyone knows its Fast and furious 2 even though thats not the movies name
Here's another example
display name: VHS: Dead Wrong S2.01
title: Dead Wrong: The Series
subtitle: S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoon
The text is also available on GitHub, too, which is handy too https://github.com/TheIndieStone/ProjectZomboidTranslations ๐
(I guess it's this line, right? https://github.com/TheIndieStone/ProjectZomboidTranslations/blob/master/EN/Recorded_Media_EN.txt#L4961)
Yeah, I think it'll be important with more medias we'll have. Seems the title is mainly for sorting (though with roman numbers I don't think they will sort alphabetically fine past IX?
Dead Wrong: The Series S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoonis the name in "Training Materials", in the Info TAB.
And VHS: Dead Wrong S2.01is the item name, as can be seen in inventory
Looks like they combine the title and subtitle for that then
I am trying to come up with a solution about all these names
The subtitle is only present in recorded_media.lua file
Although now I am seeing this
RM_dd6c3ae8-eb57-4001-8b28-07494ffb1814 = "Dead Wrong: The Series"
RM_99700dbf-ef03-472d-9695-4d8f99e8c731 = "S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoon"```
in recordedmedia.en.txt
I wonder if we should swap the Infobox name and the article's title
For this https://pzwiki.net/wiki/The_Cook_Show_E1, the Infobox will be VHS: The Cook Show E1, and the article title is going to be The Cook Show Episode 1: Cake
Dead Wrong: The Series S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoon will be article's title, and VHS: Dead Wrong S2.01 witll be the Infobox item name. https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Dead_Wrong_S2.01
If we are on board with this I will start applying changes
If I am not missing anythingelse this has to be the way to go
https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Dead_Wrong_S2.02 -> Infobox item name = VHS: Dead Wrong S2.02 |||| Article title= Dead Wrong: The Series S2.02 - Dead First, Questions Later
I think the infobox title and page title should both be the item's display name, as it is for every other item. We can add a parameter for title and subtitle
But we all agreed that putting VHS: or CD: in front of every single recorded media isnt the way to go though
true ๐ค
The display name is what player's will see the most though, and therefore what they'll search for. So I think that at least needs to be the page name (omitting the VHS)
ok then where are we going to use this Dead Wrong: The Series S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoon
You want the article title to be Dead Wrong S2.01 right?
we could have a title and subtitle parameter in the infobox. Can leave them separate or concatenate them. Since that's all that Dead Wrong: The Series S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoon is title + subtitle
title + subtitle is the value present in Training materials tab
yeah, so would it be best to combine them then? In the infobox
Yes, we shouldnt seperate them, atleast it will represent something thats already in the game
Only problem that might be of issue is, that its not "technically" the "item name"
That would be the displayname value, but I believe you suggest we make a compromise and ignore this?,
I suggest using the display name as the page name, but (maybe?) remove VHS: , then also have that has the infobox name (maybe have it with the VHS?). Which I think we're doing now?
Then have a separate parameter in the infobox called title which combines the title and subtitle values from the game code, i.e. the name in Training Materials
So the only change would be a title parameter in the infobox, right?
probably confused us all with all the uses of title...
Not at all, I understand you. The another change we would have to make would be changing infobox title as the infobox title is using title, which is fine we can simply change that.
Oh my god my english
Basically what you are suggesting is fine, adding a new infobox parameter display titleand subtitle, we will also have to change Infobox names, because they are representing VHS: titleatm and not display titleas we want.
41.78.16

%title% is a VHS providing some lore.``` To provide you context
Think you misinterpreted me ๐ I'm suggesting have the name value the same as the page name. EDIT: with VHS:
https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Dead_Wrong_S2.01&type=revision&diff=407543&oldid=403479, is what we want + the new parameter which will include titleand subtitle, which is= Dead Wrong: The Series S2.02 - Dead First, Questions Later just like in the training materials section
yeah, that's what I'm suggesting
Maybe even this for inital sentence? https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Dead_Wrong_S2.01&diff=407545&oldid=407543
OK I mixed up 1 and 2 but you got the point
I read that for dog goblin 4 and it confused me... I'd have it something like Dead Wrong S2.01, titled Dead Wrong: The Series S2.02 - Dead First, Questions Later, is a VHS providing some lore.
We do the same thing for other items that have multiple names, or previous names
But Ep 1 name
If you add the infobox param I can start doing 1-2 examples to really see If it works
Beceause cough its protected
sorry ๐ฉ
Its totalyy fine
to be clear, we have a single title parameter, and we'll just manually combine the title and subtitle?
i.e. Training Material = title
Let me send this first https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=Dead_Wrong_S2.01&diff=407547&oldid=407545
looks good, but with a comma after the "Afternoon"
here's an example of a 'previously' https://pzwiki.net/wiki/JS-2000_Shotgun
Training Material =title subtitle , as far as I understand, Worst case I have the game open so I can add it by looking in game
yeah, so I just have 1 parameter though?
yes, and it shouldnt be collapsible I think
I think thats an "optional" comma there? Maybe this is a language difference
Added the comma, though I dont think i will while translating, probably different rules applied
probably a language thing? It's a non-restrictive clause, which gets surrounded by commas
A couple of examples.
This one it's in with the existing book related properties
Or this one, it's not in a section at all
Second one but without "Author" would be the way to go I bet
Don't want author? For audiobooks, etc.?
We have 3 types of recorded media CD Retail VHS and Home VHS
only CD's ghave authors
and we have that information in back cover section of every cd article
gotcha
Alternative @robust latch since we don't need author
shouold use media_title btw since title is used in the infobox template for the title, i.e. name
Looks good. Just going to be this https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Dead_Wrong_S2.01 + Dead Wrong: The Series - S2.01 - Dead Day Afternoon in the new media_title parameter spcae
yeah
used that one as an example https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Dead_Wrong_S2.01
I believe we got it, shouldnt confuse readers
This treatment is only going to be applied to the retail VHS's with seasons&episodes,
I will begin fixing today or tomorrow
If anyone would like to learn more about weight gain (or just check my maths) I've gone in more depth with the calculations, and used equations that should be simpler to follow. Not sure if I went too deep or if the example is necessary. My main goal was something readers could actually follow and potentially use. https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Nutrition#Gaining_weight
I liked it. Cant wait to translate (!). ๐
Though shouldnt the โณWeight = 0.000013 ร 0.75 ร 86400 = 0.84 weightgainfactor must be 0.000026 insteaf of 0.00013 because the fat+carbs=700
fats and carbs aren't added. They're separate. If either are above 700 it's 0.000039, or above 400 is 0.000026
tbh I read it that way too. Wasn't sure how to clarify
this is definitely a nitpick, but i've always heard that the calorie burning difference between walking and jogging is so slight compared to the speed difference that walking actually burns more calories over the same distance, so technically walking doesn't help you gain weight, jogging does
you're probably right. I didn't consider speed in the slightest ๐ anything exercise related though was there beforehand, just rewritten
it's not something i've personally verified so it may be incorrect, but it's what i've always heard
it's surely unintended if true
maybe I'll test it when I eventually look into weight loss more
I believe there was some video analyzing it, so yeah. I also thought of adding that bit of info to wiki (probably as a note or something)
It was one of the YouTube channels analyzing the mechanics in-depth, like Retanaru but I think it was a different person
btw, in case you guys didn't realize, I added https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Annotated_maps_images โ I wonder, should I add maps here as well or should it be a separate (sub)category? E.g. https://pzwiki.net/wiki/File:LouisvilleStashMap16.png
I think stacking them in one category will do, and might do that anyway, better than leaving them uncategorized, but if you guys think we could use further separation, let me know. Pinging @ocean veldt for that too
@naive imp https://pzwiki.net/w/index.php?title=File:Romero_Center_for_the_Performing_Arts.png is removed, you needed it free for a redirect, right?
probably could've been 'map images' then ๐ but I think that'll do. Too much organisation can actually make it harder to find things. So sticking them together I think is good
I think its good to seperate annotated maps and normal maps, normal maps will get lost inside 70~ annotated maps
@languid kayak I see that you changed dialogue to dialog although I must admit, I only used monologue and dialogue so far in every VHS tape (25~). Does it harm to write that way?
You will sometimes see 'dialog' described as the US English spelling of 'dialogue'. In practice, though, 'dialogue' is the standard spelling for a conversation in all English dialects, while 'dialog' is mostly used in relation to computers.
ive only used dialogue and i rarely see anyone use dialog
I understand now, I believe he changed to display US English then, although I think dialogue is a better word.
dialogue is more standard in both us and rest of the world yeah
Yeah, I'm still on the verge of categorizing icons because of that lol. Figuring out manually what's what isn't always some straighforward and frankly not to useful either I guess
I just think the dialogue is British English and dialog is the American term? https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/dialog
but yeah, waht Frogski said, may not be that important ๐
Hi everyone, can someone suggest a mod or a way to finely adjust the loot spawn in the game for a server? I have my own game server and I would like to change the spawn of specific items. Starting from the amount that can spawn to their overall presence in the game.
We are wiki editors, we dont actually play pz
yeah we do, we open debug mode
sorry bro
Ask it in #pz_b42_chat
thx
Dialogue still seems to be the preferred spelling for US. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dialog
and uk
yeah, but the wiki is written in American English
im just confirming its also the preferred term in the uk
as for the wiki being written in american english, is that a rule? and if so why
the game isnt american made, the terms are not that ambiguous going from british to american and vice versa, the players and contributers are all over the world
it is a rule, and was requested by the devs as the game is based in the US
really now, alright
well... not a rule, more of a 'guide'
funny considering the game itself has/had british terms instead of american lol
Indeed, and something they've fixed over time
even better feel free to revert if not alrwady, elseI will ๐
and yeah there's en-uk translation in GitHub created during b41 but it sadly didn't make it (yet)
it doesnt really matter anyway, who would go to a different part of the wiki just to get the u back in colour
yeah, the en-UK is a possibility but like really really low, Mediawiki supports it and the files are on GitHub and shipped with the game, but not used, see https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Translations for details, there's two PRs one mine and one someone's else for zomboid on GitHub but they weren't merged https://github.com/TheIndieStone/ProjectZomboidTranslations/pull/462 https://github.com/TheIndieStone/ProjectZomboidTranslations/pull/547 and we'll see lots of new strings ayway for b42 ๐
Other than that though, the game should technically be en-US now by default, so if there's some British terms in game, they are technically to be changed down the road
(reverted btw)
Just tested it and seems you're right. Jogging burns less calories than walking over distance (even sprinting is slightly better). Walking is only beneficial for preserving calories over time, but I don't really see a situation where this would be helpful, since jogging would give you more time to find food.
Here's my findings
Calories burnt per second:
- Walking: 1.9 calories/sec
- Jogging: 3.2 calories/sec
- Sprinting: 4.1 calories/sec
Tiles per second:
- Walking: 2 tiles/sec
- Jogging: 3.8 tiles/sec
- Sprinting: 4.6 tiles/sec
Calories burnt per tile:
- Walking: 0.93 calories/tile
- Jogging: 0.84 calories/tile
- Sprinting: 0.91 calories/tile
This is 80 weight, and no injuries or status effects
Done, thx
Anyone has an idea what this might have been inspired of:https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Satin_and_Silk ?
What exactly do the recoil values on the wiki mean? It says "delay between shots" but how do the numbers work?
The more recoil a gun has, the more time it will take for the player to have a better aim.
would probably make sense to reword it, cause the wording is confusing
the wording on the wiki i mean
cause yeah, delay between shots sounds more like rate of fire than accuracy reset
it's the delay between shots, afaik, i.e. so a shotgun doesn't fire as quickly as an assault rifle. The numbers are just a modifier used by the game, like most of the other values, they don't mean anything on their own, just a way to compare with other weapons. Some info on this blog post under "weapon changes" https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2014/07/aiming-to-please/ and here's the parameter https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Scripts_guide/Item_Script_Parameters/RecoilDelay
Howdy all, itโs Mondoid time again! This week weโre all at the grindstone trying to get those last missing promised gameplay features into the game, as detailed here. Thatโs not to say we donโt have some juicy info about whatโs coming. This week its from Romain, who has been revamping the ranged weapon systems to [โฆ]
Aiming time is the time it takes to aim https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Scripts_guide/Item_Script_Parameters/AimingTime
A modder might be able to confirm
this does sound like it could be right though ๐ค
Thats how I understood it ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Actually, with assault rifle having 0 recoil, I'd say it's got to be the time delay between shots https://pzwiki.net/wiki/M16_Assault_Rifle
too much speculation to write anything on the wiki
someone gotta confirm it
@naive rock something you maybe know ?
100% the time between shots. Just tested it
so i suppose for guns with 0 recoil theres a minimum?
but anyway thanks for testing, it should be reworded id say
time is better than delay imo
less ambiguous
I'm happy with time
its how it is said in debug mode tho
hmm
as we just saw, nobody was sure what delay actually meant
We should put recoil somewhere nonethless maybe the highlight part
the wiki is there to help users, not to just be a direct translation of ingame mechanics right
we can still call it recoil, just have time between shots in the description part
have "time" or something else replace recoil and have the highlight contain recoil would be the way
what do you mean by highlight?
I also wish we could have these values actually mean something. Having this in seconds would be convenient
You want to replace recoil so it could be replaced with "Delay" and the highlight text can be: Recoil. Delay between shots
the whole ambiguity issue started because of this phrasing though
put in time between shots
maybe another collumn next to the raw values that translates them into seconds
Okay but it wont be ambiguous if you apply the Delay change as you wanted to be displayed in front, no?
What do you want it to be phrased as*
Time between shots makes sense as its literally what it is
delay could mean more things like we had a confusion about earlier
delay between shots in accuracy reset? delay in time? delay in sound? whats the delay about
you get me
Funny thing about all this is the tooltip description has only been there for maybe a couple of months. For years we just had 'Recoil' ๐
I do. I didnt suggest delay to be put in there neither. Then have Time between shots to be displayed and Recoil. Delay between shots or Recoil to be highlighted might be the way
I still dont really understand what you mean, sorry
I was thinking just replace delay with time in the highlight
No It's on me my English isnt superb for the last 2 months, sometimes it happens
I don't know what you mean by 'highlight'. You want to literally highlight the word? I don't like that
I think changing Delay between shots to Time between shots would be enough ๐
I agree with you we can change it to a reasonable parameter such as "Time between shots". And the highlighted text is going to be "Recoil"
I think this is simple enough?
Maybe I am using the word highlight wrong Wtf
Let me just double check
i think what you said about translating it to seconds also makes sense, maybe have either an extra collumn or in brackets next to the default value
and time it manually i guess?
I did some timing. But working with such short times, it's hard to do accurately.
D-E Pistol
30
1.1 seconds
M1911
25
0.7 seconds
JS-2000 Shotgun
50
1.6 seconds
I was confused, but I get what you mean now
template isn't made for more than 2 columns. I'd be happy with brackets though. Template could calculate it for us
i guess an approximation is better than values that arent useful to people anyway
|
|tooltip=
|{{{recoil_delay|{{{recoil_mod|{}}}}}}}```
Replace recoil in here with whatever you want and replace time between shots ***TOOLTIP*** with Recoil
Was my suggestion
I am dying
So have the Recoil replaced with Time between shots and the menu hover over is gonna be Recoil?
ahhh, now I get you ๐
I think how it is now is fine
yeah
yes...
Recoil isnt affected by aiming lvl?
Since "draw" animation (animation of drawing a gun back after each shot) is affected
easy to test, have a character at aim 0 lvl fire a shotgun repeatedly then do the same at 10
In the files it suggests aiming level reduces recoilDelay by 2 each level. But I'd want to test it before adding
I think it was in IsoPlayer.class
I know that draw anim changes drastically from level 0 to 10, especially for bigger guns
Character actually tries to hold the weapon, and not flail his hands around
@autumn swallow where did you get the original Spiffo Plushies exactly from? I can't find the new one in similar dimensions and as png, so I'm wondering ๐ค Though the new one has a fancy net around as a background anyway (which I uploaded so far): https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Spiffo#Official_merchandise
Also, do you guys think that maybe more images from past campaigns be added or not? The original image only shows the plushie, not the details, plus the new one will come with stickers, too.

Oh, and do you think it's worth removing background from plushie images to make them transparent, or don't bother?
I wouldn't bother
Okey but why do we have an advertisement on top of every page now
@languid kayak Remove bg webp and png if you want to compress yourself
I just realised this page is everything I could've hoped for: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Easter_eggs
Pinged the wrong guy, I forgot what exactly I did. I think I just used snipping tool on the pic or some shit?
I addes a sitenotice but yeah, It's for every page without option to close... Can tske it off if it's too in the face, or make it smaller though it's just 17 days left and not much otherwisw happening in pz
It's a pretty small notice compared to the others. We had the massive "Now on Steam!" one for 6 years with no issue ๐
Technically not untrue!
I suppose thats a fair point
Did we delete Fort Knox page?
