In game yes, there is no PTBR page for Wiki though yet: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/PZwiki:Project_Translations – can't say for sure all the PT articles on the wiki are indeed non-Brazilian Portuguese

If you want to contribute to the non-Brazilian PT, the best for start would be to add missing translations to the main page and check for errors there, see https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Category:Translation_needed/pt for more.

If you want to make a PT-BR one, I'll need to add it to the supported languages, but you can create pages by adding /pt-br to the end of the pages in the meantime.

It's PT-BR. Both manage to understand the subject but it is important to separate, like was done in the game translation. As I said, there are many differences in the vocabulary. Even not frequent, there is always a volunteer willing to contribute in their own language.

Hi, David. There're no Romanian translators at the moment, so it'd be nice if you could translate and fix mistakes.
Go to Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\lua\shared\Translate\RO. This is the translation-folder you need. You'll see a bunch of files, these are translation files.
After that open your Steam Library. Find PZ. Right Click it. Properties. And under launch properties type -debugtranslation
Launch the game. (If you have mods, turn them off and restart the game)
Go to Users\User\Zomboid and open translationproblems.txt - this file has every untranslated string in the game.

For example:
You open translationproblems.txt and you will see something like this:

ItemName_RO:
ItemName_Base.Lunchbox = "Lunchbox",
ItemName_Base.Lollipop = "Lollipop",
ContextMenu_RO:
ContextMenu_Check_Trap = "Check Trap",
...

So you simply copy ItemName_Base.Lunchbox = "Lunchbox", to ItemName_RO.txt and translate "Lunchbox".
After that you copy ContextMenu_Check_Trap = "Check Trap", to ContextMenu_RO.txt and translate it too.

Hello, I have a terrible problem with the readability of the interface in the game, especially during long hours of grinding.
Therefore, I decided to make modifications to the translations to add emojis to certain options, such as the contextual menu.
The default font in the game does not support emoji characters.

I just took a quick look at Unifont. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to fit that many characters into the memory.

I believe that if you play games in CJK languages, the game performance will be lower than normal due to the much larger character set

I think the devs are always interested in, the more languages the merrier.
I might be wrong, but I think the game doesn't have a Greek font, so you need to add one. There's a little guide: #translations message how to add a language and a font.
But I must warn you - translating the game isn't an easy task, so think twice if you're ready.

oh hey! i understand that there's a pretty significant divide between the work that is done for the wiki and the work that's done for translating the game, although we're able to benefit from each other sometimes

i'm currently mostly working on the wiki and have not looked into what i could do for the game itself, all i know is that i'd have to set up a way to make git pull requests to help with game files translation

however, i am of course more than happy to connect with other Dutch translators, either for the game or the wiki, so that we can streamline things like naming conventions and terminology! please feel free to let me know if i can be of any help to you, @rapid mural

You don't necessarily have to make git pull requests, folks have been sending their translations as simple txt/zip files in this channel and nasko merged them by hand, though it still require coordination with existing translator and translations 😄

I did not succeed 100%. I created a new language in the game files and put the translation, and if I type in English characters, it will be displayed in the game. Still, the main problem is that this game does not support Persian and Arabic characters, and there is likely an encoding or font problem.

Is this a Mac version? If yes, maybe you need to manually create the translation folder path on Mac. ProjectZomboid\media\lua\shared\Translate\NL

You can also download the English files from github and work with them inside the NL folder. The names of the files must be rewritten from EN to NL. Then the first line within the files must be rewritten in the same way.

This is just an idea, not sure it will work., not sure it will work. I don't know Mac.

You should rename the Lötkolben into Schweißbrenner in the german translation. because a Lötkolben cannot weld or cut metals

it would be very helpful if this mistake gets corrected and the tool gets adressed properly

Basically encoding is the way the game will recognize your language. Each encoding addresses a specific set of characters. You need to find what is your language encoding (just google it) and add where it is pointed out in the guide.

Change files encoding will depend of the tool you are using to translate. In Notepad++, for example, you'll find in Encoding menu.

Hi guys, I had translated about 70% of the game in Albanian, but I stopped. The thing is that some updates happened and now I don't know if there are any strings or such that might have changed. I started translating in May/June of 2022 and I'm sure there were updates that brought in new strings.

How can I see the difference; like what strings in what files were added? so I can translate the new ones as well.

And ideally I'd also start translating build 42 strings if they're already made so build42 can include the albanian language

You can create fonts for the game with the AngelCode's Bitmap Font Generator.

I recommend selecting fonts that are licensed under the Open Font License.

However, not all fonts are compatible. You might need to handpick a font that can be seamlessly converted to bitmap images.
If you can't find any, you may need to edit certain fonts using FontForge or a similar tool before proceeding with the conversion.

There's no updates planned for before b42, so I guess for the official one you'd have to wait for that, but technically if someone want to improve the existing translations, it could be done by a mod, some languages did that (not sure about TR), though it will be a while since things gets pulled officially as there's no ETA on b42 yet.
