Destiny 3 would have banged no matter what, and i would have liked it too, but it isn't happening for a while and i'm glad Bungie is able to continue on a new project that they clearly are pouring a lot of effort and soul into. with how well the game is doing just off pre-order and the server slam, i wouldn't be surprised if they made enough post-launch to justify making Destiny 3 as their next big project.

Hi, can anyone help? I loved playing the slam and pre-ordered the game (PS5) ...but i could never get voice chat(proximity) working throughout all my 35 hours of play. I had all PS5 system settings correct, controller mic activated, in-game mic settings on and active etc ... but at no point could i hear anything from anyone (i could see that my controller mic sound was being picked up and registered, but never *heard * any other player speak (they also had mic sign 'on') .... what basic newbie dumb thing did i overlook? basically there is a transmission integrity of sorts so an item can only be re-looted a maximum of 5 times before it becomes credits. Simply put: If I killed you and loot your weapon, it loses a stack when I extract, next time someone kills me and loots it, it will lose another stack, at 5 stacks lost it's transformed into credits

Other than the eye candy cinematics. The game is quite the challenge despite a few minor flaws that I can tune out. It is a significant challenge than say arc raiders where the ai enemies are mostly predictable and have set timed acts they do and any form of coordinated assault is usually coincidental. The Uesc however feel more like actual riot brigade and despite the often lack of runner permanence they function realistically and are quite hard to take down. A normal recruit can take you down it you are overconfident.

PvP on the other hand is like skirmishing scavs. Even if you have bigger shields and better weapons, the ttk isn't changed much and fights often boil down to the better position, using uesc as tactical advantage, and or flanking / catching someone off their guard. Which sounds unfair... Maybe is, but even crouched or invisible you can hear others and you know for a fact that the uesc would shoot all runners on sight unless it's a rook using his or her ability.

It's a Bungie game, and Bungie has something special with their shooting. It just feels good to shoot guns no matter what they are. Apart from that? I enjoy the look and feel of the game, runs feel rewarding, upgrades feel meaningful. Although my experience so far is based purely on the server slam, and my opinions will surely develop and change come full release and further updates. It's new, fresh and somewhat unique in its own right.

Also this isn't gameplay related but I am interested in exploring the world and lore of Marathon and how it all connects to the original games.

It's pretty fair all in all, from a sweet balanced spot between realism and gameplay balance. The movement isn't so sluggish when you get used to it, quite the opposite. And as for recoil, it becomes a lot easier with practice and the right attachments. + You can do things such as crouching to basically cut the vertical recoil in half

I think Perimeter. On Dire Marsh i had hella PvP around Maintanace (most likely due to the Traxus quest). On Perimeter many times we were just wandering around doing nothing. Maybe we were on the wrong POI's not sure.

I think there's enough players. Some games you see less, some you see more. I've had back to back fights with 3 different teams sometimes at the same time. Any more would be too much for certain

some POIs are more frequented than others on all maps, and from run to run, I feel with a trio unless all people play tactical and sync movement in order to maintain awareness of surroundings it gets quite noisy and you're not able to hear gunshots or lighter/distant footsteps, basically teams can sneak by you a lot if you are noisy and with randoms it often goes like that

You've done a remarkable job on the art direction and the world-building; I love it. If you added a PvE mode where other players you encounter become allies, you would make a huge difference for many players. A bit like Fortnite, which added a no-building mode for those who don't like building.

so. why i raged. we were on perimeter. spawned noth of station. teammates started running south as we all needed to get into that tick infested building.
ran past east wall, then south relay. we hear no shooting right? then we start heading down the hill towards the infested building.
i ping an enemy player on the building. teammate immediately starts shooting. i hold back and start trying to down them from range. teammate runs right in and dies as i down 1. then immediately after i downed that guy, i get shot in the back
there was a team at south relay ofc.
so me and the teammate that ran in are down. and my other teammate was behind me. he had an enemy stood right above him on top of a trailer looking thing. i ping that enemy, and call out that he's there in team vc. my teammate does not react, at all. gets mowed down by the guy on the trailer thing. run ended

made me so mad. all they had to do was have more patience and also listen for callouts lol
