For those that are worried about not getting into the Alpha, please note that the Alpha is actually a test, not what most companies seem to do for Alpha just to hype the game. It does hype for it, yes, but Bungie is actually gonna be testing server stuffs, mechanics, and the like, and will be taking feedback (thus the #1346519584005558404 ) channel and the like for it. Even after the initial Closed Alpha tests, there will be further things available prior to the game's full release. Closed Alpha is probably going to be a buggy, but glorious, mess. Other play-before-release things were mentioned in the Stream that should open up after this initial Closed Alpha, but specifics weren't given. So, most likely, most people will have a chance to play before release, even if you don't get into the Closed Alpha.

I've been in all the Bungie Alphas and ya it's mostly just stress testing and big bug reporting.

We had a doc to write all of our findings in both Reach and D1/D2

Thats how some of us figured out how to get past the level geometry using sparrows in D1.... none of us reported it.

Folks should look at Alpha as an opportunity to interface with the game, identify broken stuff, and provide insightful comment. It's less an opportunity to play the game early, and more one to make sure it launches in a state that is actually playable.

On Steam we had little confirmation. It would just let you use the code on any account, and some of us excitedly entered it without realizing we were playing a game on one of our alts.

I like the art direction and landscape being used. Makes it unique and stands out especially with the various forest and beach areas as seen the trailer and gameplay footage. Has a blend old school cyberpunk design and font with the terminals and structures with matte like finish and smooth sharp angles only heavy corporate influence can show. While also reminding of system shock as well.
