chests are one time, but there are things that look kinda like jars or packages that contain the things that a poi indicates in its map info popup, those respawn.

windrose is veeeery forgiving survival-wise (atleast at lower difficulties) and there´s no real repairing of armor or weapons or tools (i would count the ship repair more like using bandages or healthpot on your char, very easy and very cheap)

Also if you think about it, you have a drop off at the end of your aim where your cannon amo is supposed to drop. This allows you to have placement where you anticipate where the ship will move. If you have all the unique explorations explored, you should be good unless you missed that crocodile island and that island with plague crushers. On my map I technically have a miniature island next door to the crocodile one. It’s super teeny tiny but it had tar trees and ruins on it.

The best suggestion to make anyone new/newer to the game - take your time!! (a) it's early access (b) farm pigs for armor upgrades / heck farm everything thru biome 1 then repeat in biome 2 - cuz max upgraded gear is important and once you start building....ya just can't stop lol. (c) find areas at sea with ships you can handle, farm em and board the haulers for more piastre + loot to sell for more coin - helps with materials needed for upgrading gear and or ship stuff. Again, take your time and enjoy. I'm currently working my 2nd toon/diff build type and plan to do a 3rd when I get there.

Always remember the chart, it helps alot. Go on a few mining trips, you wont know what to do with all the stone you find.

1 - gear level is more important than character lvl if you want to fight higher lvl enemies you need to increase ur weapon lvl
2 - set bell waypoints to resource islands that contain copper (later iron)
3 - don't invest into green gear besides the crew gear because there isn't a higher rarity variant
4 - try every weapon type to find your preferred playstyle and don't get dragged by tierlists it's more fun that way
5 - I recommend progressing the main story line and forcing weapon upgrades until you best the second boss to unlock the majority of the recipes and blueprints and then slowing down and playing for fun (that's purely subjective)

I've been doing that, have bells set in islands I visit the most for mining mostly and my island where my camp is, my sword is level 4 or 5 I think, I have a dual shot pistol, that I haven't upgraded yet, I don't have many rare gear really, most of it is green

youre really gonna wanna upgrade your gear first and foremost

youll get the most out of your level that way

To get ship gear you visit the buccaneers and smugglers
Character armor is good to have and you can buy set pieces from the factions but they are not that important imo
As for weapons you need to explore and open chests (or ask someone to give you a copy to touch and learn how to make)

Well I think I have 2 quests active atm, I need to craft a melee weapon and go to Captain Richard's camp, but that has level 9 recommendation
