Anything really, if you plan on using the fast travel bells.

I would say because of that the best place is one with the best scenery. I personally like building off the cliffs in the foothills for this reason.

If you are NOT going to use fast travel much, you might want to build your base somewhere central to your full map, but that's hard to figure out until you're closer to current endgame, or by looking at the revealed map online.

There's only 1 boarding gear. The Keelhold and NT3 go very well together. I'd suggest trying Devastating cannons, but all of the upgraded cannons have their benefits.

rust has official servers, different beast as i said (i used to be rust admin on a server) - #1493029476970270740 has some server details you have to talk to people to get info etc, also I highly recommend playing windrose with friends, the only personal chest thats not shared are your ships right now, all the other stuff is shared and open to griefing

in a way yes, the map is not that big in Windrose, solo map would be the same size though, but lots of things are saved character specific not server specific, if you haven't played much I'd recommend solo unless you're just strongly against it and want to play with others, do recommend friends though

I think you can skip the quest, its not related to the main quest line. You just miss XP and probably will not reach lvl 15 at the end.

Handled my problem with the bonfire height with decorating my house. It allowed me to place a bonfire on the roof when the other one was "out of radius" despite it being in the middle of the other bonfire circumfrence. Yay!

unfortunately there is no way to do that yet, that i'm aware of. The only thing i can think of, is start a new world with the same character, then continue from where you left off, because the chests will all have been opened up to the point you continue from.

But of course, all the stuff you discovered, will have to be re-discovered in the new world.

Yeah there is a lot of potential for this game, in my opinion they could extend the game play time a little with a few, not so bad tweaks. As it stands, I think Ashlands will come out, everybody waiting, blast through it then twiddle me thumbs waiting for the next one... The developers may not be able to keep up. They need maybe a few repeatable fillers between episodes, maybe long difficult sea voyages, or sea battles that are much more challenging. As it stands, it's building, which is awesome but you can only do so many days of that or trying to catch the last fish for the fishing ring.

How do we solve the quest Smugglers where we are to search a ship for some stuff? The enemies seems to spawn endlessly

They do, easy way out is just to run for the "loot" and run

the enemies only respawn if you get off the ship. Use your ship to ram that ship, sometimes you can knock some of them off into the water. If you have the reliable musket you can also use that to push them off the boat. they won't die from being in the water and thus, it lowers the number you have to actually fight.

You can also shoot them from your boat until they're 1 shot or 1 hit from dying. Then you can kill them quickly after you board that boat.

Right, so there's a total of 8 of those fixed-location travel campfires, plus the 10 actual bells you can choose where to place. Place them strategically, and usually it's enough.

Or you just install the mod that removes the limit, that one's popular.

@rain depot I don't use it myself, but if I was the type who builds grand palaces on every island I probably would. The limit only really works because some islands aren't worth visiting more than once.

not true. like the plague croc, the three circle formations. You can grab the chests but can't read the quest until you have john's dictionary from the main quest. So you can miss that quest and have all unique locations explored. There's a couple other ones like that, the spanish sailor graves, the bodies on captains wheels

I know they don't snap super well but they should snap. you try backing out of the build menu and going back in to reset any height adjustments? try using the build menu (Q) to change build camera height and get a different angle?

Can you snap single pier pieces? it's essentially the same thing. Or do those give you a problem too? might be the piece and the size of it
what I find helps when trying to snap in that direction is to like face so you're looking up and down the right edge of the pier and look at the edge of the piece in front of you

It's all timing. Everything but the grenades, red choke slam, and the occasional red overhead smash can be parried. So two or three parries depending on the attack rotation, two or three stabs, then rest a sec to regain stamina to parry again. If you do dodge out of attacks instead of parrying, you'll want to end up close to him after his combo to get cheap shots in. Just slugging away at him is a quick trip to the morgue.

Oh, and maces and halberds can't parry. Only block. Which means you don't strip shields from him, and lose shields, if you block.
An epic Razor saber gives you bonus time to parry, making it easier. It doesn't have RGB lighting though, so it's not an official Razer product. :p
Edit: I've never had good luck using a pistol and a sword at the same time. control to dodge, alt to aim the pistol while wielding a sword.... then I fat finger the windows key, the task bar pops up, I'm locked out of controls, and SmAcK.

some advice that helped me, since there is a fast travel right out side - drop all your loot at home, and come back with no food buffs/elixirs going. Go into the fight expecting to perish. Practice. Do it over and over again learning when to block and parry and dodge. Die 5-10-20 times if necessary to learn the patterns, and once you get to the point that you can more than halfway kill him with no buffs at all, on your next turn, buff up at the start and take another go with your new skills, and you might just find it easy.

also just in case you havent, upgrade all your equipment to level 5. Huge difference.

Rapiers, sabers, and greatswords can parry, or block if your timing is bad. Most strength weapons can only block.
There will be more and brighter sparks if you parry, you keep your poise shields, and the enemy loses one of theirs.

something i learned recently that i didnt learn until almost the end of the game is i dont have to run backward and hit dodge at the same time to dodge backward, just pressing dodge goes backward automatically if you have no direction pressed. yes, you will be able to learn recipes for the 6-10 tier of materials, upgrade your crafting stations, and make the necessary stuff to craft a brig. You do have to buy the brig plans though if you havent already

i forget which ones, but most of the crafting stations will be able to be upgraded once you get some materials from the foothills

and then you should be able to collect and construct the materials needed to construct a brig

Well you have forced yourself inside a collider, hense why you cant select your tent to destroy it and are now stuck. Dont think you can get out of that now without using some type of mod to remove that barrier.

Okay cool.. i was using a saber before but it was the basic one lvled to 5.. so i switched my build for a rapier.. I do prefer the saber though so we will see how long it lasts haha

By the time you get to level 10 gear the bleed is kind of whatever. Sturdy rapier has better scaling and devastation has the best ability but that isn’t until later

hey - if you have a previous manual save yes

providing it wasn't too far back - I recommend doing them daily before you start or end for the day, and on really long days of play at least once in between.
