There are definitely red bannered trees. Its just not a very bright red. So look around more, you also might've chopped it down. They will always be standing as well btw. I'm not sure you CAN chop it down, but might be possible. They are usually no further than maybe 50-100m. They are typically very close by.

Most people have gotten it lol games been out a little bit now. No issues on this end with the boats. Fast traveling on them sometimes causes a lag spike/frame dip, but aside from that I (personally) haven't had issues with ships.

I think the LARGE majority of people just play on default settings. Some obviously make it easier/harder, but that's far from most people. Majority will just one one of the preset difficulties.
I play on Storms edge, no multipliers or anything just default storms edge. Because I find majority of survival games (including this one) become very easy once you learn things, so playing on anything lower wouldn't make sense for my personal enjoyment.
Combat in this game was giving me issues when I first started, then it became a joke. Think after the first boss it finally clicked for me and became incredibly trivial.

Yeah, I had to do a lot of fiddling around with that. Mine still have a bit of wall poking in, but it's hardly noticeable unless you get the camera right in there.

I placed them on the connection between two floor tiles, and then put the small wall pieces on either side, and used sloped walls to cover up behind/in the fireplace. It isn't perfect, but it'll do 😄

So too be fair, a rat build with striking, bleeding, and avoiding getting hit with the 1000 cuts is a playstyle just as much as learning attack patterns and getting good at parries, might not be your playstyle and you might not like it, but it exists for a reason.

This existed with One shot builds vs other builds with E33 the same. Critisizing players for enjoying a particular playstyle is strange.

I made it through E33 with parry builds even beat Simon, but I ended up using 1000 cuts on Hands because for some reason I could not get his attack patterns. I still enjoyed him, loved the challenge, and got what the devs wanted me to from the encounter.

If it's the former, I've never seen chests in the Copper/Iron mines.
If it's the latter, then the Ancient Debris sites you found must be one of those tall temple-like structures, likely with chests scattered around the ruins.

Copper mines are an interior space, you go in to a new physical location.

Iron mines you physically descend and harvest whilst still in the main world.

Ancient Debris sites are also in the main world.

And ofc keeping the good ol' reliable musket is a must

the main issue is always the roof. never quite fits on the angle and leaf-roof is a strict no for a brick house

I set up the foundation then make a corner wall (front + one side) then I go upwards to set the height and I then make the roof without any of the other walls set and just support it with pillars

That way I can fit the walls to the roof not the other way around

yeah, but the 2nd version is a lot more like the picture I had in my head when I set out to build it the first time. And the oval was really bothering me.

Then my buddy asked me to build one in his world, and I made it a lot less complicated. My floor doesn't have holes in it, but it has more overlapping pieces

and not trying to leave an opening up top that you could exit thru from the inside made the process a lot easier

it's a little better than some games, but the issues it has with building are also pretty typical of this kinda game... but the difference is you can get 4 floor pieces each on different heights of ground to snap together. When I tried to build in valheim, they wouldn't, so I immediately gave up on any building in that game

the only part I don't like about building in this game is it's "difficult" to replace individual pieces. Like, most people will probably build a crappy plant fiber hut to store their things in before they bother actually making a proper base... and at least what I would always do is slowly update it with the new building materials... but you kinda can't do that here because you MUST destroy whatever's there already, you can't like slap it down in the same place and have it auto-destroy or just replace... so if you have any storage or tables on the floor, it becomes this tedious process of having to manually move all your stuff

to be fair that original base was pretty much just a survival cube with some comfort level stuff, so it's not like it was fancy to begin with, but I had some ideas with it that I ended up never doing

I'm also very much a bare bones base guy usually, like I got in and built a "tavern" and a open wall warehouse for all the crafting stations, then a dock side market for the merchants. But other than that I made a shoddy bunk house for the workers next to the smelter, and then me a house

But my house and the bunk is pretty much big box with beds. The tavern I made a "stove" and it's one of those buildings that is bigger top floor than base

I haven't played that, but grounded does blueprints that let you place pieces as you find them, and then you can just slap the new thing down where the old thing was, and the resources will kind of explode onto the ground where it was

Conan exiles has other issues tho lol. But ill keep it at that.

Its also funny how in most games the more advanced you get the more advanced your building material needs get but with windrose you can get away with a lot, lots is just base wood

I think its only fun if a game allows you to scale income of res using slaves or workers etc. I dont wanna be the hero, the captain, the architect but then also grind 10000 hours. Id rather give commands and feel like a real boss after going through midgame and having collected a small village worth of ppl. Medieval dynasty does that good. But that game is kinda only good at being a village chief sim

not from what I've seen... but in my single player world I never found the plague pistol. I have one POI that still needs a chest according to the map, but one of the containers was just open already when I found it. Now I do have a plague pistol because apparently I musta stolen it from my friend without realizing it, so I'm wondering if the game isn't glitching out thinking because I have it I musta looted it, but because it didn't record me doing it, it also simultaneously thinks I didn't...

That, or I'm just blind and not seeing the chest I missed

it never left mine even after finding all the POI. Its a very good tool for deleting excess mats when you want to clean up your storage

Those sites plus x marks the spot treasure maps are the reason the shovel exists. Incase you thought the shovel was only for basebuilding

parrying helps a lot, might wanna use saber if you're not great at the timings.
