I think you're right in to some degree but for me personally, one of the unique and positive features about this game is how easily you're able to travel across the world without it being an enormous time dump of just traveling. there's a Merchant Contract you can buy - set them up at your Base and you can order various seeds from them, based on which regions you have cleared

Because of how I play. Any damage done to my ship is healed by the time I'm done killing 20 enemies during boarding.

And I get the free repairs again once I sink the remaining ships who so patiently waited for me to finish boarding.

With a brethren frig, the 200k HPs really feel nice.

I eat shots, board. Heal. Repeat.

By the time I sail to the next group of ships, I'm fully healed.

I have a stack of master repair kits for emergencies but I haven't had to use them and I have over 100 in storage.

I think there's a reason why.. it's important that death at sea has a consequence, and that's that you have to go fetch your boat. Respawn at boat would mean death really has no meaning during boarding actions.

That's my estate in the center, main entrance leads into the feasting hall from which one can go to the wings with crafting, roof terraces and staircases. above the feasting hall are the captain's quarters. left are the frams and the shack for the staff, right is a stand for the smokey refining (smelters), front holds storage and merchants.

I typically dump in deep water.

I have bells on shores, and items dropped near the bells never despawn. (At least the undead essence and crab legs from last week are still there)
So when I sail out to sea, I dump what I don't want.

Granted they don't disappear within an hour, but after a day or two my ocean should've been as littered as the Pacific. And it's not.

It's still a viable method to mod game through the early uses of the UE5 engine

i didn't say modding the game wasn't possible lol obviously it is, but when modding you aren't changing the core engine code, you are changing the higher level stuff, to do vr with unreal 5 you need to change a lot of core engine code, because it isn't made for it like unity is if using the right unity packages/configuration.

Front of my build at the moment, I'm making like a swamp village completely inland where you can't even sea the coastline or beach, you need to dock your boat off the coast and then use your smaller boat to sail inland via a natural looking inlet I've dug out and made it look completely flush with the environment around with all vegetation etc, I really enjoy builds which blend into the natural surroundings as much as possible, adds to the atmosphere.

So not sure if this is accurate about the shovel but after my discovery and exercising it in the manner it has been a complete game changer in a great way for me. I kept fiddling with the terraforming and with the leveling erm Flatten option it is measured by the ground you're standing on. In other words it flattens to the position you're standing on and will raise or lower the terrain to that point. Hope that isn't confusing and also hope it helps anyone trying to make a sizeable garden or flat area.

Place stone foundation, use stairs and attach the new height for stone foundation, delete stairs and fill gaps with new stone foundation. It's a bit of a roundabout way of stacking foundation but it'll work for what you're intending.

As a solo player myself I'd advise you to make use of the guns since you can easily control the distance and just shoot them and use melee only when they are armor broken

I use infused concentration for crit buff, since weak spot damage is guaranteed crit and I already occasionally use gear situated towards Mastery build.

it's pretty balanced imo - the difficulty is chill if you don't let things hit you (and it's very easy to not get hit)

Not everyone can always parry or dodge with any degree of accuracy. It's a nice mechanic to have in a game, but it shouldn't be a required one.

Nah. Musketeers one shotting me from across the map 90% of the time unless their friend blocks the shot is not a skill issue. Maybe if the difficulty is on normal, they shouldn’t have that high of accuracy.

I use two hits, walk around, dash back.

The entrance where you come from is a good place to get him to use his dash into.

Because the walls extend past the entrance gate, if he dashes into that corner, his skulls won't hit you around the walls.

Literally hit twice, walk back, dash back. Use a gun if you want to get extra damage in. Blunderbuss is great for none spec precision builds, or the muskets are good for raining bullets.

enemy level = your equipment level is the rule of thumb :) keep your equipment upgraded and it shouldnt be an issue

There's numerous ways to deal with any enemy in this game like any other game

If you want to try using a reliable musket you can do it like I did
Shoot while moving backwards> dodge+sprint like Forest Gump and repeat
When he is armor broken you can either keep shooting or move to do a melee combo before disengaging again
When he does the soul special attack just sprint sideways
And when he does the charge attack dodge sideways and keep shooting

How I deal with ranged/melee fighting, I always try to keep a melee guy inbetween me and the ranged enemy, the ranged enemies can't shoot through their allies so it acts like a shield. Idk if you knew this tip but hope it helps.

beyond dodging/parrying/blocking you also have the option of building walls to block enemies from getting you while you stab and shoot them

I do. Doesn’t always work. This is why boarding is even worse than regular combat. They can hit me through my crew but I can’t hit them unless I’m using a halberd

In some cases, I am sure it's right. There are plenty of people out there playing games that just don't care to learn game mechanics, and never get the skills. for others it's less skill and more an inability for some reason. I personally have proprioception issues, so when something like required dodging is in a game, it messes with me, because I have to quickly look at the keyboard, otherwise I generally hit the wrong key.

I will admit some weapons are far better than others for boarding. Our allies hinder our movement so much but our enemies don't get stuck on the same hitboxes, it's very difficult to deal with, I hope one day they balance out the hitboxes when boarding.

I had issues with getting ran over by enemies but I figured out to dodge rather then block so my stam doesn't stop regen n it works wonders, the 2nd boss for me was much easier then the 1st after I figurd this out

Just an idea, have you tried putting like a sticker on the dodge key on your keyboard so it feels different than other keys? That way you wouldn't need to look down to dodge you could feel it for certain.

Well, after spending many hours building in this game, I have to say I’m really not a fan. The fact that half your base can be supported by, for example, a single wall is crazy. If you demolish the wrong wall, floor, window, or pretty much any building piece, poof, there goes a massive chunk of your base. 🤷‍♂️ 👎

To run off this, the idea is to introduce things to your sensory that wouldn't require sight to know that something is different.

Keyboards would have indents on certain keys so people practicing could know where to place their hands.
