I noticed most game communities are fickle these days.

1. Person(s) come in. We know nothing about the machine, the internet connection, how many people in the home are using the connection, or their in game/desktop settings, and or what else they are running ex: VPN, Security suites etc. that eat up resources and bandwidth - They come in saying this game sucks, it freezes, it crashes, it's terrible. - Then the "Me too" train chimes in and says oh me too! - Instead of troubleshooting/upgrading etc. No they bugger off, and take the me too train with them, and while some of you may say so be it bye then. Society for the most part are like sheep in herds. When a group of people go they take 10 with them. This is an unfortunate thing for devs that work hard on these games, that try and appease a community.

It is the way Valheim and many other games do it, just a different approach.

Sometimes from a game design standpoint that is easier to do that to make upgrade models for a station and adjust the footprint - some games like Swordsman X - it created problems

They can really help to fill out empty space as your base grows. It just takes a bit of building to get used placing the upgrades in a way to enhance the layout rather than impede it

Alright then, I know demo is 4 for now. Really hoping later launch has an increase. The difference is Atlas was an open world MMO - this is not - it is a survival game - different systems and design. And this is absolutely not Atlas .. Thankfully and yes I played it. Typically I stick with AMD now days as I do more multitasking and running multiple software - which normally AMD handles better, but for single application performance Intel still holds the Lead on performance for a single app by a long shot. Just all depends on How to build your system, what are your focus points - I do some graphics work, ahve 3 to 4 monitors up and running and a game or two, etc. Performance is better for me on AMD. But On just sitting down to run one or two things as a focus Intel is insane - but then you get into higher Heat management issues. It comes down to your personal preference, what software you plan to run, what performance you want, etc.

@granite oxide Yeh I get what you mean 🙂 but from a player perspective . Now that the demo is out and people are actively playing, it feels like the hype window is now.

If Early Access is still ~5 months away, a lot of players might move on to other games by then and not necessarily come back, even if they liked the demo (until full release).

Isn’t part of the idea of EA exactly this phase, letting players jump in while excitement is high, give feedback, and help test while you keep improving?

Also for multiplayer specifically, higher player activity during hype would probably help with stress testing and coop balance too , which might be harder if EA starts with a smaller returning population.

Just thinking about momentum more than player count trends 👍

<@&1354821664998817822> The only issue im having with the demo so far is POI notes... they dont register at the poi when i pick them up. also i think it would be cool to have some sort of way to either destroy or scrap items, i only say this because if i drop something my partner character picks them up automatically! plus dropped items everywhere is just messy at base xD Cool game, love the demo!
