You can solo it for sure - its all about getting the gear level to match the mobs and learning how the mobs attack and what weapons work best against them.

Cause if you are playing with friends - your friend isn't going to want to just stand on the ship while you sail and are completely in control. They are going to want to shoot cannons or DO something.

The reason I ask is, I think this game could be an incredible playground/stage for roleplay for those looking for a pirate world experience in the vein of RedM (Red Dead Redemption online roleplay servers) where players could literally build some little towns, develop trade, create stories together, have a few crews at war, etc

That being said, I've been part of this community for a while now and I've yet to see any action by the mods that wasn't warranted. You may feel that you have been targeted but I'm sure there was something in the way to said something or how you responded that warranted their actions. Also, the mods are equal opportunity and if there was an interaction you were having with someone else, they gave the same weight of warning to the other party that you got, whether you were privy to it or not.

@tardy stirrup pvp hasn't been ruled out completely - just shelved for now. It makes it easier to crank rest of the game out. Personally I enjoyed the game without the pvp just fine - was a lot of fun. But I also enjoy the option of doing some pvp - so would definitely be nice to see something added in later that could scratch that itch without penalizing those that have no interest in it. something like what Guild Wars 2 did would be nice - a pvp wporld for those that want to travel to it for that, pvp arenas, etc. Lot of p[otential for scratching that pvp itch if they choose to do that - time will tell. Reguardless it was super fun to play as it was, and now there is so much more added to it 🙂

Question, will building in Crosswind be like Enshrouded, as in you have to put down basically a base center and you can only build in that area. Or
