Crosswind will have pvp, just not in your instanced areas - which is massive in size. However this test is for testing the survivability mechanics - Building, crafting, exploration, sailing, combat, etc. PVP is not a test focus at this time and when it is fully flushed out will be in a later test. @tough trench The point wasn't how much content - it was if it was challenging or not - the game has lot challenge, Every game eventually runs out of content - its what is done with that end game pve loop that keeps players engaged and involved. If you want to always have more endgame content non stop - you will never find that in any game. PVP ads interesting elements, but it in itself isn't always challenging - you know you going to fight someone or multiple's and one of you is going to win. that never changes - its constant - same issue. It's how the loop of it is handled as to wether it keeps people engaged in it to make it want them to continue and come back for more - same thing. The game is lovely, has a lot of challenges in it and some interesting mechanics and hidden gems. I'm super excited to see players start to get access and want to see the feedback, as do the dev's. **This will be a great time to add input to help develop the direction the game goes and we hope everyone that participates takes time to fill out the surveys and give feedback as it helps greatly - not just the things you like, but the things you don't. Hopefully you guys will give reasons why you don't like something and suggest how to make it better. **

The game/company understands the demographic they are trying to appeal to already, they aren’t worried about pleasing or fulfilling the original supports/fans wishes.

The game being FTP, means they aren’t worried solely pleasing their investors by player counts and sign up numbers for their EA.

Right now Crosswind isn’t about appealing to the community, but developing the count of people interested.

Im meant to be on break because Ive been doing this since 6AM. BUT, as Benjamin has said, the reason people are being let in so slowly is purely because of server load. They dont want to immediately open it up to 2-3K players and risk breaking it for everyone. Better to let people in slowly and see how the servers and the game itself handle it before letting more people in.

Believe me we completely understand why it seems so unfair and silly to have an alpha test that has over 200,000 signups, to only have 60 people playing, BUT all we ask is a little bit of patience for the Devs to ensure that the process is stable and people are able to actually play the game. Rest assured the aimed number of 3-2K players will be reaches AND theres 4 planned weeks of testing time. MORE than enough for whats around 30 hours of content currently in the game. In addition, there will be more playtests between now and full release.

At the current moment there is a very, very small handful yes. However as I’ve been saying here all day, there’s a good reason as to why less than 100 people are playing.

It’s just for the stability of the servers. This is the first time a large scale test is really happening and the devs don’t want to strain the servers immediately by allowing 2-3k people in at once. There were already several large bugs after the test went live and they’re trying to avoid any more. Invites are still rolling out but much slower. We expect everyone who’ll get access to be in and playing within the next couple of days.

Rather them have stability and it working well and see the lagg spots to tweak so can add more than crash the server and nobody can get in until they figure something out lol Crashing a server doesn't always give the answer as to what actually crashed it. Slowly adding people gives you steady data across a lot of points to monitor to see what is spiking and allows healthy feedback without thousands screaming the servers are not online - that isnt productive lol
