This is a pretty broad question I realize probably doesn’t have a good answer, but I seem to struggle getting high stacks with flag. I wait to cast it until im at the 4 or 5 combos, and I have 26% haste and it seems like im almost always getting 19-23 ish stacks, aren’t people getting substantially more then that?

At r3 Frost and 32% crit, a r6 DS is only like 12 DPS more than a r6 Obedience.

How do I read my own logs?
I've started doing pve recently and I want to know where I can improve but I barely understand details or warcraftlogs. Are there youtubers or videos out there explaining reading rogue logs?

i mean before you start you need to at least have a basic understanding of the spec to know what you're looking at/for
comparisons to top logs can help with understanding areas you're lacking as a base, but after a while you'll just.. know what to look for your spec

I've played rogue for a very long time, I'm just originally a pvp player. I know it's wrong to just use shiv without having dots on, I know how to align my cds, etc.
Yet I want to know if there was something I could have done better in raid encounters
I guess that's what logs are for?

checking your buff/bleed/debuff uptime. wasted energy/cp, and cast/rotational sequence(finishing at right CP, shiv usage etc)
is probably a good beginner place to start

like i'mt rying to see how dashing scoundrel would be if placed in back over doomblade but it doesn't show up on searches. just the old epic pieces from the other tiers

@frigid wigeon how to evaluate logs by yourself gets kinda hard, i can point you in the right directions but if you're lacking the base knowledge (which is all available in the guides/faq/in here if nowhere else) you won't really know what you're looking for
but fx on your remnant kill https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/1WQacHp4M63ZdNGJ/#fight=12&type=casts you can do things as basic as clicking on your name to filter to yourself, and either use the damage done tab to see your bleed uptimes (on single target, multi target you'll have to use the debuffs tab for enemies)
or commonly you can kinda see the majority of mistakes in the casts tab -> timelines
here you can just see each gcd you use in order basically, and a glance at any good log (rankings are available at the top left of the site and filterably by spec) or guide would let you know that mutilating 5 times before applying bleeds isn't correct
and holding your cooldowns for 15 seconds isn't correct either
you have over a minute between shiv casts after your second, etc
