I’m gonna explain for the start with exsang

1. You have to max pandemic refresh your bleeds before every exsang, regardless of their current duration, which just goes against all gameplay basics

2. Upon pressing the button, the tick rate of the bleed you sped up is locked in. Normally haste updates the tick rate dynamically during the bleed, speeding things up and down as you gain and lose haste. This leads to a fractional tick at the end of a bleed in order to stop breakpoints from existing where you would get a full extra tick at certain haste values. We call that fractional tick “the partial”. Exsang’d bleeds do not do that, they just tick at their rate, so everything including their partial is set in stone. They do still update their damage per tick from mastery/vers/agi/crit

3. People get really confused where the damage comes from, since 100% faster (twice the ticks), at half the time, cancels out back to the original damage of the bleed in the first place. There are 2 ways where that could be worth it. Way number 1 is the expected way to play exsang: you sync it with your cooldowns and exsang a big bleed in your cooldowns and something something something do more damage burst high. Number 2 is how we actually play it, which is slamming it on cooldown as much as possible in order to maximize the total number of gained ticks in a fight (since compressing a 30 second rupture into 15 seconds therefore gives you an extra 15 seconds of a new normal rupture that fills the void). There’s also some free energy you get from it, but generally that’s an afterthought more than anything.

4. Because the cooldown doesn’t line up with anything, the entire concept of using it as a burst tool is out the window because you would be losing casts of something, no matter how you sync it. If you sync Deathmark to it, you have to hold Deathmark, if you sync vanish you have to hold vanish. If you hold exsang, you lose exsang casts. None of these options are any good, because you would much rather the free exsang ticks from being able to dot again.

So you’re left with a cooldown that on paper goes against the grain on your gameplay, it doesn’t line up with anything, it reads like a burst cooldown, but is a sustained damage tool, and on top of that it’s difficult to understand for a new player, haste snapshots are not explained, it’s hard to wrap your head around where damage it actually gives comes from, and it’s just generally for most people not a fun button

I think something like this. ER is good, solid burst and is up a lot. Soothing Darkness + Dance gives you sustain that Rogue generally lacks + Recuperator. DTB is passive damage so you don't need to worry about "not using" stuff like KB. 2 pts in Zoldyck so you can leave a mob at like 10-15% with Garr/Rup/DP on and it will die.

Seal fate is integral to assassinations combo points, taking doomblade and not taking SBS is a cardinal sin, playing poison nodes in a leveling situation where bleeds will cover almost 70% of your damage, not taking something like marked for death for mob resets, etc etc. Dance is also an absolutely abysmal talent path all the way down from nightstalker.
