1. Use the techtest beta
The techtest is a beta branch with expiramental optimizations. To use it:

Go to your steam library.
Right click Brawlhalla.
Click Properties.
In the menu that opens click Betas.
In the dropdown menu at the top select "tech-test - Testing new engine tech".

2. Set brawlhalla to high performance mode

Make sure Brawlhalla is open.
Open task manager: ctrl+alt+delete. Select task manager.
Click on the Processes tab.
Right click the Brawlhalla process and select Set Priority.
Select the desired (high) priority.

For the next options, you must know how to edit a game's launch options:
Go to your steam library.
Right click Brawlhalla.
Click Properties.
The menu that opens should have a text box at the bottom. This is where you enter the launch options. For multiple launch options, put a space between them.

3. The -noeac launch option

Disables Easy Anti-Cheat, which has some input lag issues atm. Note that this launch option cannot be used in tournaments. There are no other limitations atm.

4. The -framefixunbounded launch option

Requires the techtest (see option 1). New and experimental.
Reduces input lag and disables v-sync.
If you get stutters while using this, try:

1. Adding -setfps 60 (replace 60 with your monitor's refresh rate)
2. Using just -framefix (-setfps wont have an effect on this). This has the same behavior, but doesn't disable v-sync.

Report your experience with this launch options in #framefix-feedback, giving a full list of your specs and a detailed description of how it behaves for you.

Here's a surefire way to make brawlhalla run in high process mode (on windows)
Make sure Brawlhalla is open.
Open task manager: ctrl+alt+delete. Select task manager.

I’m a controller player and wanted to switch over to playing on a keyboard.

But the issue I’m facing is that I just can’t properly… input what I really want to do.

I use my left hand to move around which works perfectly fine but when it comes to my right hand I just can’t get used to it. I know how to gravity cancel or dash around or x pivot on controller but when I’m playing on my keyboard it just feels like my brain doesn’t even know how to do those things to begin with and I just end up pressing the wrong buttons.

I know I’m able to press a few buttons very fast on my keyboard but it feels like my brain can’t really assign my fingers to properly perform the task of pressing the right button at the right time.

Is there something I can do to deal with this problem?

I uninstalled and reinstalled brawl
It still has frame drops

I had done special k global injection a day after the patch since I didn't know the patch got some integrated special k
that's exactly when I had these frame drops and input lag till I went with techtest and that solved it
It again sprouted outta nowhere and pretty much nothing helped so far

There are ways to auto level if you really want. Just look up a tut on YouTube. But personally I wouldn't recommend it cause it's not as rewarding as doing it yourself 👍

it's been so long and I still don't know who to play, last time I was recommended to try katars but it doesn't seem like an easy weapon to learn, so at the moment I'm just playing Orion because I've been playing spear in forever and the spear sigs feel really strong

I think last time I also described playing Magyar, high defense + active frames = swing weapon and see what happens, that has not changed but it does not feel perfect (may have something to do with the sigs)

I would just pick whoever you like the most regardless of how good you are on them, or even how good they are in general. If you're enjoying playing you'll improve faster and have more motivation. Every character has quirks with their sigs that you'll find as you play them and they're all rewarding, no character is unviable, it's just a matter of finding who you like
