I’ve been struggling to hit platinum. Typical elo range is 1500-1580. Then I’ll occasionally reach 1600-1620. I think my biggest issue is hitting gs combos and playing against lance players.

above itself is its blind spot
try to avoid panic jumping, and use fastfalling more offstage, especially to escape strings

another thing to add onto what cheese said is you should watch for sairs and dairs in neutral, their range is gonna have you beat on greatsword but if you can space the attack you're gonna get a free neutral light which you can convert into a string. look at their movement, wait for their approach (with gold/plat lance players its usually pretty obvious what they want to approach with) and punish accordingly

if you're having problems with the dlight > nlight vortex then dodge out after the dlight and watch out for them covering their missed attacks with a dlight, if they do cover a lot then instead of trying to punish the first attack focus on punishing the dlight, you can always bait them with a dash or getting close to them to get that dlight out of them

sometimes if you're in queue for a while it'll route you to that secondary region and you'll have worse connection since its farther away than SEA

if its not that then i can only presume its a problem with your distance to the server (affecting ping) or just poopy internet

Hey so ive been testing out blasters and dair basically got useless to the point where when i land it im acctually on a disadvantage because when it hits i have no safer option on neutral, i either gc or do nothing basically, so can someone explain to me if there is something neutral wise good that i can use as a followup on the move?

you can also read an in dodge by fastfalling and jump dairing again

there's also gc nlight but gc dlight cd xpivot nair is better out of it

whenever i stop playing a single character that i have been learning for a week, i suddenly play way better with a different legend than how i was playing with that character. is there a reason for that or am i tripping

i'm not an expert but i believe the reason why that happens is because when you play with a legend for an extended period of time you develop habits and gameplan based on what works

you need to force yourself to build good habits in order for you to continue to improve with that legend, otherwise you'll hit a wall and be stuck at the same skill level or even be getting worse

when you switch to a new legend you can overcome that block as you're no longer mentally restricted by your habits

i personally like swapping legends for a short period of time whenever i feel like i'm not improving with my main legend as it opens myself up to different ways of playing the game that i can then apply to my main legend

On sword, dash ssig to punish whiffed attacks or predictable ledge getups. Use nsig to catch jumping opponents. Use bow dsig to cover a wide area in front of you when your opponent is going to run into range of it. Bow ssig can be used from very far away to punish ledge getups or whiffed attacks, but you should use dsig instead if they're too close to you. When you get stage control with bow, punish your opponent with nlights, recoveries, and jump nairs to condition them to be scared to be above you diagonally or very close to you and then quickly position yourself below them when they're way up high and they think they're safe and use bow nsig for early kills

it's highly possible there's some strain on your network causing packet loss

My game has been having an issue where every few seconds it will freeze for a few frames, up to around half a second at times. This happens both online and in local matches, so it's not a network issue.

I'm playing on an M1 macbook pro, and I'm fairly sure it's not a lack of processor power since I can run minecraft consistently at 60 fps on pretty high settings.

Things I have tried that haven't helped:

• various launch options: -unlockfps, -setfps, -noeac
• using the tech test beta, with and without the above launch options
• restarting the game, steam, and my computer, as well as updating the os
• closing all other open applications and turning off steam overlay
• launching the game in windowed mode rather than fullscreen

i normally do that then nsig/gc nsig depending on their health but its quite predictable so alot of people dodge it
but i cant think of an alternative

On gaunts, punish with dlight or nlight. Look for dodges after slight and punish them with either a gc slight recovery, just following them into a recovery, or going to the ground and jumping to catch them with a nair. Dair is good for covering your landings. Be patient offstage with ground pounds, wait until your opponent has no options but to go to the wall and then ground pound them. If they go up horizontally to the wall, catch them with sair. Slight can be a decent approach, so can dash weapon throws into pickup nlight. Keep people in the air with recoveries by following their drift

On hammer, approach with dash slight. Cover yourself with nlights and punish with dlight when possible. Don't land with sair very often because it's very easy to punish, but it can be a decent mixup. Cover your landings with weapon throws and fast fall nairs or dairs if your opponent loves going directly below you. Offstage, you can dash off ledge fast fall sair to kill people early and it's very hard to react to. Gc dlight can cover yourself well if you dodge an attack with the spot dodge before cancelling it into the dlight. Ledge trap with ssig, dlight, jump nair and always keep the threat of going offstage for a weapon throw, or reverse sair, or fast fall follow them and gp or recover if they try to get past you. Kill with dlight combos, nairs, or sometimes nlights. Sair is good to, but don't fish for it because it's more punishable and easy to avoid

I started playing today, I liked the game and I want to get closer.. sometimes I try to play ranked and I succeed.. but at the end of the ranked game it crashes, in the end my enemy barely moves, and don't fight with me.. Poke with slight, position properly with dashes. When people are in the air don't be afraid to jump up and nair them when they get somewhat low. Use gc dlight right before landing in order to kill and avoid the opponent's attempt to catch your landing, don't overdo it though because it is risky if they back up and wait for the gc. Use dairs and weapon throws offstage to get early kills. After you hit a dair offstage, try jumping and slightly charging a weapon throw to wait out their attempt to avoid it and force them to go to the wall and get hit by the weapon throw. Dash weapon throw in neutral when far away can get you stage control. I'm not the best at gs combo stuff so I can't give advice on that

Sometimes try ledge trapping with gs ssig, the second hit hits surprisingly far off the ledge. Dsig is good too if you think they'll try to get up. You can punish easily with dash ssig and catch on platforms relatively safely with nsig
