If you have a hard time with the keybinds, then you could maybe change around some controls for your preference. You can always practice and play ranked 1's and experimental, since 1's forces you to improve against players your own skill rating.

play more ranked or experimental, and less of other queues

it works like this:
each legend has a hurtbox. it determines where it can be hit.
each move has hitboxes. those determine where it can hit.

if the 1st move's hitbox hits first, it wins. similar for the second.
if both of the moves hit at the same time, the game uses the following priority system:
weapon > unarmed
if both weapon or both unarmed:
sig > gc sig > light > gc light > aerial/gp/rec

if both moves have the same priority, a CLASH happens, and both opponents are pushed back at a certain force

looking at your clip, it was indeed a clash, so the stars didnt appear

oh, and, dont followup an nsig dunk with a gp. you can often get a followup into a dair, and read their jump into a killing gc nsig

There’s this glitch, and it isn’t my wifi.
Whenever I play customs and stuff when I reach or my oponent reaches one stock, my game will start to lag heavily. Like I’m missing a ton of frames, some pixels aren’t loading.
Example:
I throw my weapon, but it skips the animation of the weapon throw but shows the weapon being thrown.

imagine two players. they're sending inputs to eachover.
let's also suppose the game is deterministic, aka exact same input in exact same state leads to exact same result

each input is sent in a "packet".

let's suppose player 1 is lagging. he'll receive the opponent's input, let's say, 10 frames later.
the game will now "rollback" the game 10 frames back, and replay the thing with the opponent's input (the replaying isnt visible, just the end result).
before receiving the opponent's input, the game assumes they're continuing to do whatever they were doing before (and that's why you'd see people walking off ledge while lagging)
there's always latency between the two players, so there's a small bit of input lag added so that you dont have to rollback every time (3 frames for most games)
there's also the topic of one sided rollback, but that's more complex.

long story short:
you've started throwing. the game realized you missed an input. it rolls back, and replays it, making it jump to the end of the throw.
