So as the dumb person I am I checked out yt to look for the best legends in brawlhalla I ended up buying VAL and MORDEX and let’s just say I don’t really know how to play with them, I can manage to be a little decent with the gauntlet but thats it

2. learn the spacing. knowing where moves hit will help you not get hit
3. jump. many "spam" sigs dont hit in the air
4. dodge
5. weapon throw. that interrupts sigs
6. stop walking directly towards them
7. change approaches. approaching the same way will cause you to get hit the same way

Nix is one of the hardest legends to beginners especially her blasters you can stick with her if you want but i recommend you go with a little more easy character like hattori, koji or wu shang because they can be good at spamming and when you get to a higher play rank you can be competitive with them but nix yes her sigs are good but to master her light attacks is very hard since she has scythe and blasters which are the hardest weapons especially for beginners but that’s just a recommendation you can still play her if you want

Btw the word “sigs” are the circle or triangle attacks on ps4 or y and x on the switch or you can just call them special attacks

Yeah scythe and blasters are really hard to hit in air but you can try to gravity cancel it’s using your ground attacks but in the air search for it in YouTube you can find people who explains it better than me

Teros sidesig gc’ed by other hand can kill a magyar in 140 at miami dome (i tested it myself)

to be on the techtest, right click the game in the library, click preferences, click betas, and change None to Techtest

What makes gauntlets so broken offstage? I've never really gone for offstage plays unless its just a simple groundpound or a dsig. What is it about gauntlets that makes them so threatening offstage?

They have really solid attacks for it. For example nair grabs above you and tosses them back down. Sair spikes them down as well as away. Dair is a solid move as well. Gp you can active input to move left and right while using it. You can even gc dlight nair which is a true combo.

I don't think I'd call them broken offstage, but they just have a lot of options

floating is good with axe but you cant predictably do it, a good player will catch on to your habit and punish you eventually, use it frequently but dont overuse it

be ready for good players contesting you in the air and counting how many options you naturally use before attacking

but yea its generally good, use side slight sparingly its a good move but as you said it is punishable, i would only use it if its confirmed or to catch landings

i would just try to think about what your opponent is going and play around that, its okay to default to a floaty playstyle but just be ready to adapt if youre getting countered

use whatever works against the general players you play against and when it stops working figure out why and what you can do to improve it :]

Why do certain legends just feel bad to play, even if I know how to play the weapons? not sure if this question is too general to answer. I'm talking about azoth specifically, I'm good at his weapons but something about him feels off, I get punished more, my movement is slower, and I miss the sigs no matter how good they are.

How do you punish scythe and space it out properly? Which dodges should I be using typically to avoid nairs and sairs? How do you approach scythe using sword and hammer?

To the first question, you have to only punish moves that are possible. Often nlight or slight are wiffed just outside of punish range. Spacing it out usually consists of getting directly above or waiting for their move first (not nlight)
