How do you approach with cannon when the opponent is playing passive or your both in neutral? Is slight a better option than dlight in that situation or is spamming nlight and dlight better for keeping neutral untill I find an opening?

i play scythe but the problem is that i cant seem to react fast enough to read any dodges, i keep training in training mode for reads and i do succeed but not when i set the dodge reaction to random

that's because you're not meant to react to dodges with scythe lol
you're meant to predict which direction your opponent will dodge based on where they are on the stage (at the edge/middle of the stage), which directions they tend to dodge when put into that situation, and whether or not they have a dodge
