but on my laptop, which is on the same network, has consistent 30-37 ping rate to the same server.

only odd factor was hurricane hilary. only glitched to this after that happened.

whats happening here is
when you write to your local save by changing something in the inventory
the game will reload your items by rereading the save
but it unintentionally reloads your selected skin when it shouldnt

the reason why this doesnt happen outside of training is bc once you change your skin there itll write the new skin to the save so when its reloaded its just teh same

if u for example play spear on a higher dex usually, it could be ur muscle memory is "frame perfect" on that higher dex. Thus when inputing the same combo, but with lower dex, ur basically doing the combo a frame early, meaning u could mess up the jump u need or whatever

it this could be ur problem, just practicing the combo in training mode is probably the best way to rehearse it

definitely a steam issue, normally this fixes itself if you restart your pc/steam and then an update will appear when you reopen it. If nothing is happening try going here Steam in the top left of the steam client > Settings > Downloads > Clear download cache, then try reinstalling the game and see if its got the correct brawlhalla version

did you make sure you restarted steam/pc too? if you've only restarted steam make sure you're not just pressing the X at the top right since that doesn't actually close steam, you can go to the bottom right in windows and right click steam to properly close it from there like below

You're moving in the air towards an opponent with gauntlets, you want to nair them but they're still to your right, without aim up you either have to let go of the right direction, then nair, then go back to holding it to keep drifting, with aim up all you need to do is press your aim up key while moving towards them so you can nair while holding right and you never need to let go of the direction you're moving

Also, for chase dodging there's times where you just want to chase dodge directly up, if you have aim up and jump on the same key then I believe it will jump instead/as well as chase dodging and that wastes a jump
This also affects some combos making them needless difficult without aim up

No it doesn't I just used gauntlets as an example you can substitute it for hammer nair and it's still the same point

And the example was actually for onstage because on gauntlets you get a true combo nair GC nlight with a stage bounce while you have momentum but the exact example is just as relevant with sword nair because that's a move you really want to be drifting with in the air while you use it

Hammer also has dlight nair true from the ground which gets affected by not having aim up as well because you should be chase dodging but with aimup+ jump you'll overshoot it

Not saying you need to do anything, it's not required to have aim up on a different key it's just objectively better, it doesn't take that long to relearn it will feel horrible for a bit but you get used to it once you suicide a bunch of times cause you pressed aim up instead of jump, just don't play ranked until you're comfortable

The entire idea of aim up is to let you do nair and nlight moves while being able to move it makes more sense to be able to do that rather than having to let off directions (slowing your movement) to do these inputs, it's not an edge case where you use aim up, you use it literally every single time you nair or nlight or chase dodge up/diagonally up

Killing two players from white to red should be more than enough damage but you can get a little more if you think you killed them too quickly

Alright, so this just started to happen 5 minutes ago, my game started to have freezes every 10-ish seconds for 30 to 60 seconds out of nowhere while i am getting 60fps constantly

60 fps constantly would make sense depending on your launch options and if you're using the beta build or not, but since its only just recently started happening i'd have a look at task manager and see if anythings getting used to 100%

If you were maxxing out your ram that could definitely happen and be unrelated to brawlhalla

And tbh since its only just started happening if nothing looks off in task manager i'd just do a complete restart to see if its still happening after that

As for actual brawlhalla optimisations its pretty much recommended in all cases you at least use %techtest (see below)

The techtest is an experimental version of the game that offers better performance overall along with reduced input lag. To opt in to this techtest, please go to Steam -> Brawlhalla -> Properties -> Betas -> Select tech-test - Testing new engine tech.

and if you're on a 75hz screen or lower you may want higher frames than that, you can use the launch option -setfps X and substitute X for a target fps e.g. -setfps 300

You may also want to try these launch options %framefix (see below) but they mostly target input delay rather than frames, however -framefixunbounded does remove vsyncing and uncap your frames

Depending on your hardware, you may see different results with each - try both to see which works best for you.

yo I just started brawlhalla not so long ago and I started getting hang of this game but I still do not know which character to pkay with. I been struggling with the stats and from what I heard personally that. the character I'm using rn (petra) is a decent character but not the best character I can use overall. if I may ask. can someone help me pick a character that will help me rank up/get better

petra is a perfectly fine character, one of the best parts about this game is that (and you'll see this if you watch any of the pro tier lists) literally every single character is viable, every single one regardless of how bad their stats or sigs are, its been proven you can place even in the top 8 of tournaments with a completely offmeta "bad" character, simply cause they share so many similarities, the only thing that will hold you back in this game is yourself, so I (and most helpers here) generally recommend playing whoever you like and enjoy and not really thinking about whos good or bad, because it doesn't really matter. in the end you'll likely improve faster on a character you enjoy rather than a character you're forcing yourself to play because they're "good"

Also if you're struggling with petras low defence you can run defence stance it might help a bit tho imo its not the best stance

Thatch had a sig true combo on dex stance so they played 2 defence, but it was down to them playing well not the character being op tbh, no one else was playing thatch at the time

As for the combo part, theres two terms in the community, combo and string - combo is two or more attacks together which are "true" (true combo) this means they cant be dodged when done together properly, an example could be downlight > sideair on sword. a string is two or more attacks "strung" together which have dodge frames in, but usually wont be escapable with a jump or fast fall, but thats not always the case, an example of that could be katars downair > sidelight.

Most weapons have consistent true combos on all healths from certain moves (e.g. sword downlight), but the exceptions are scythe and greatsword, greatsword does have some true combos which aren't super specific but generally you'll only utilise them when you get the chance, you wont rely or them nor really look to start them. scythe also has some true combos but they're only in specific situations or positions, again you'll only use these if you get the oppertunity to, you wont rely on them at all. Both of these weapons could be considered string weapons and generally rely on dodge reads to get a lot of damage quickly, theres other weapons that could be considered string weapons but those have much more reliable true combos you'll use a lot more frequently, so I wont mention them

Also a lot of people will call a string a combo sometimes, just kinda gotta understand if they're talking about a true combo or a combination of attacks (a string, but they dont know to call it that)

generally both a string and a combo can be two OR more hits, but most combos in the game are just two hits (since 3 hit true combos are pretty op), but 3 hit true combos do exist, and if you're comboing off a wall or with another player naturally you can get more than 3 hits true, but most true combos are just two hits.

"eu" is their server region that they play on, eu only has one but NA or US has two, US-E (east) and US-W (west), you can see your region at the top of your screen in a lobby or from the main menu under "change region (dont actually change but it should show your region highlighted there). 1900 is their elo, thats where they are on the ranked ladder, different ranks have different elo requirements e.g. gold = 1390, plat= 1680, diamond=2000

They both have stun, but there is a gap in between the moves which are called dodge frames where the oponent can dodge. If there are dodge frames present, then the move is a string, the opponent can dodge out of it. If there are no dodge frames present it is a true combo and the opponent cannot dodge out of it.

3. Go to the general section
4. In the bottom text field, add -noeac

Please note that you will not be able to play in Ranked or Tournament lobbies when EAC is disabled. As of Patch 6.07, EAC is required for Ranked and Tournament lobbies.

If you do hear sound then you may want to try updating (or downgrading if they're the newet ones) your graphics drivers especially if you have a Nvidia or AMD graphics card

Not sure where you've got the idea of deleting the anticheat but it's built into Brawlhalla you will be deleting it when you uninstall the game and getting it again when you install the game again

Is your C: drive under program files there's an EasyAntiCheat (EOS) folder you can also delete manually and it'll get remade with a Brawlhalla installation but you shouldn't need to worry about that

You may not have a second drive, you can see how many drives you have by clicking my pc on the left of windows explorer (the thing with all the files in)

They'll be at the lower part of it after clicking my pc if you only see C drive then you've only got a C drive which is likely the case in that situation just reinstall if you've messed with any files

Also don't skip out on the verifying game files step if you haven't done that already make sure to do that and check if it's helped
