regardless, i would check if the anticheat is causing it, play with the launch option -noeac and see if crashing persists, generally also verifying integrity of game files/reinstalling is worth trying and only takes a few minutes

Well just watching will never be enough try to apply some of the techniques he mentions into your normal gameplay, to answer your original question more specifically; you never really want to stop moving, especially when you're trying to find an opening to hit your opponent, work on pressuring them with dashes and always keep in mind how they're moving/approaching you, if you have an idea of what they're going to do its a lot easier to hit them, in neutral it can be hard to find "when" you should go in, but never feel like you need to, playing defensively and forcing them to approach you is totally viable and works against a lot of impatient players. at lower ELOs most players will use attacks to approach and the aforementioned idea of waiting for them works especially well because sigs/slow attacks in neutral are always a free punish.
As you play more you'll become more mechanically skilled and movement in general will come easier but what to specifically focus on can really depend on your skill level, if you're newer I would say focus on learning all the different attacks + sigs so you can avoid (space) them when necessary whereas to a low diamond I would say work on trying to move faster and think about your movement out of hitstun (because the mechanics to support them are already there).
Generally though most of "when" to hit your target will either be punishing a missed attack, safe attacks in neutral you can throw out or predicting what kind of movement they'll do and punishing it (e.g. expecting recovery offstage), the sloppiness will lessen as you become more mechanically skilled and same for being more evasive as you focus on spacing

Imo you don't really need to focus on baiting really, but having an idea of what your opponent wants to do based on their movement, and punishing those attacks accordingly is important, being ready basically. Having good spacing and pressuring your opponent with good movement (not constantly running at them) will generally get them missing attacks in the first place, it really depends on the situation

If you're not as experienced then work on just reacting to what your opponent throws out (lower levels WILL be missing due to attacking so much) and punishing those attacks rather than trying to bait them or anything like that

depending on your level most people at least before diamond are dodging the same way or similar ways out of a lot of attacks, the first hit you get of a game i recommend instead of seeing where they dodge go for an extended string, this is because if they dont dodge or dodge at weird timings (like 2nd non-true hit instead of first) you'll punish them for that and have an advantage starting, and if they do dodge then you instantly have an idea of where they will dodge next time

most players in plat/gold are dodging in against scythe, learning to read that dodge is important

punishing them offstage when they dodge in especially, whether thats reverse dair, gc nlight > rec, whatever keeps them offstage

if you can convert your punishes into sair nair loop or the dlight nair loop you can be pretty optimal with how much damage you get

but generally focus on where they dodge and be prepared to read that direction next time you hit them, thats the most important thing

you'll find most people are pretty obvious, even way past diamond

is anyone experiencing a lot more lag recently? Idk if its my pc or brawlhalla or my internet. My game stutters a lot and after a match it freezes for like 2 seconds before i can gg/emoji. Sometimes my game like teleports like a little bit. I can run most other games (more demanding imo) just fine but brawlhalla seems to just not work well

To enable framefix, make sure you are on the techtest branch of Brawlhalla in Steam, then set your launch parameters to -framefix or -framefixunbounded. Depending on your hardware, you may see different results with each. You can also combine this with -setfps 60 (or your monitor hz).

This is what I did and it reduced lag for me, also try -noeac

They have said before they are actively working on improving clans to be more meaningful than just a tag below your name, they have said they won't be adding clans to other platforms until they've created that @night elk

Clans literally mean nothing other than "it says this below my name" the community behind them is what makes them relevant (clan battles, clan discords) and most big clans participating in those things allow console players to play for their clan in cbs, etc even while they can't show it in-game. So in the end it really is just a tag and nothing more

there is the infinite "looping" mission, which is to get battle xp, so you can basically just play battles and get tiers

There is no account linking. There is NO confirmation if it will ever come out (they have said they WANT to, but cannot currently), the issue is the legal complications with so many conflicting companies.
BMG cannot complete development on account linking without an agreement with those companies, we will likely see compatibility with mobile platforms first and even then - there's definitely no release date, or even possible estimation. You'll know when its 'coming soon' because they'll officially announce it, until then, don't expect it to come soon

I've used the inspect element method before and it works fine but since your currency is different idk
