I’m a bit on the fence about inverters. On one hand they are one of the most strategically interesting items and basically the main contributor for all advanced strategies. On the other hand, the fact that their power increases when there are more blanks is kind of annoying. One obvious way to make the game more strategic would be to reduce the average number of live shells, thereby reducing the overall strength of almost all items and making the game require more foresight and planning. But, the inverter throws a wrench in that because it’s the only item that becomes much stronger under those conditions.

If you didn't have an inverter you would have shot yourself (if you counted the shells and thus knew the last one was a blank)
And then you would start the next round and magnify glass the chamber. If that was a live you win. It that was a blank you would shoot yourself and I'm guessing you would then shoot your opponent hoping it to be a live, which is more likely than not (considering the vast majority of live-blank ratios have an equal amount of lives and blanks or more lives than blanks)
Your opponent being on one hp when it was your turn is basically game over for them, even without the inverter.

the game does actually have a "money counter" even if you don't get to see it in game
round 1 gives 70k, round 2 gives 75k, round 3 gives 80k
so you will win if you:
- win the first two rounds (end with 70k + 75k = 145k)
- win the third round (while making sure that someone doesn't manage to win the first two rounds, because 145k > 80k)
