Most people play with mic muted, and if they don't have a role or it's a quiet channel they are muted anyway. I've played with some others where we chatted for awhile.
Sometimes I think half the reason the voice channels exist is because so many players don't realize they can launch the game in a text channel

Then someone just visits you using their ticket, and they will be able to remove a tire/hay/tractor just like collecting resources when you visit Maggie from the train station

Anyone else feels like this game punishes you for leveling up or unlocking crates? (in early levels at least) It feels like every time I level up I unlock a new thing I need to marge so space is always tight, and if I bother to unlock a crate I get a bunch of items taking up precious space that I can't do anything with

its not like I can earn money to unlock land without leveling up either so its like I'm punished for every single action I take.

Take your time, focus on using your energy to clear trees and rocks so you have more space. It gets better! I’d shovel the toolboxes if you’re really tight on space, they’re less important and take a while to repair decorations anyway so do those after you’ve cleared more space for yourself

You don’t have to buy land as soon as you level up either. Just take it as it comes

Focus on clearing the rocks and trees and you’ll have more space soon enough!

I would say go for it, I was saving them for awhile but eventually decided to unlock that space. you get a bunch of gems back and the extra space is so nice

That's pretty much the only worthwhile use, other than using them to open chests

The other uses are just for speeding things up, which you can just wait for, or getting additional supply crates and energy, which you can get plenty of if you spend any amount of time in here
