Assetto Corsa has a huge modding scene, its kinda hard to beat

cpu is what decompresses assets as they stream in

it's not a very fast-paced game. you can play at 30fps acceptably. if the framerate is unstable that's when you'll have issues.

just try out settings and see what you get in the heaviest areas

ok, interesting find. Windows 11 appears to be bugged. Something about CPU utilization not being in sync or something and that it may only affect AMD CPUs. I thought I was going crazy seeing the low CPU utilization while monitoring performance in games like Forza Horizon 5 and seeing it usually hover around 5%, felt that was too low. Finally dropped back to Windows 10 and CPU utilization is fixed, seen it hit into the 40% but now that makes me worry can this affect performance and if so that means I'm going to have to retest my whole system's stability

I think that may have been blown well out of proportion. Reports of GPUs getting fried over a driver. Pretty sure that driver would have to be modified or the GPU itself in some way that allowed far too much power through the card. Why now, in recent months is this only being discovered when RX 6800 and 6900 series GPUs have been out for over 2 years now? Worrying if it really is an issue as AMD can't seem to catch a break at the moment 😦

ehh I think I'll stick to windows 10 for as long as I can or until Windows 11 can finally play nice with AMD CPUs. Had so many issues since it launched a little over a year ago and without one of the main features of Windows 11 (DirectStorage) making an appearance I finally decided enough was enough and went back. Next time a whole new operating system releases I'm not going to jump so fast at all the hype and stuff. Servicing running out will be the only way I am pushed onto another Windows OS going forward. Give things time to get fixed etc

Same as a standard hdd in terms of install. They use the same power and data connectors on sata.

I got one of my first SSDs in 2010 and cases then didn’t used to accommodate 2.5 inch drives so I just made one myself to use. As there are no mechanical parts you can be a bit more creative with them.

So idk if it's normal or what. But for some reason every time I try to play with the controller. It just starts buzzing and refuses to cooperate. Meaning I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It's really weird and takes a lot of time because sometimes if I do it too fast it will just start the buzzing all over again.
It's an Xbox 360 Controller (Wired) colour is black but this is probably unimportant

it likely will need updating since that CPU launched later than the original batch of Ryzen 5000 series CPUs. You could try putting the system together and seeing if it will boot, if it does then the minimum update for that CPU has been done and saves you from having to do it otherwise you will have to update it and by the looks of that motherboard there is no BIOS flashback option so that will complicate things

since upgrading to the 7900 XTX I haven't had to enable FSR in any game. FPS in the games I play stays well above 60, even creeps past 100 FPS, all while playing at the highest settings (minus ray tracing ofc)

TIL there is a demo for Forspoken. Seems pretty new as I'm sure there wasn't one for PC before, knew about the PS5 demo but this may give me some idea without spending a penny on the game if I'd like it or not. Demos need to return imo either time limited or level limited but progress can then carry over. Giving the gamer a peek at a game first hand will be better than any review

Recent times, I feel like games have failed to deliver based on hype & expectations. A few can be said that weren’t good as previous games, even though they should be due to established characters, worlds, better tech & so on.

Gears 5 instantly springs to mind. I’m such a huge fan of the series, always will be, but, Gears 4 & 5 just weren’t anywhere as near as good as the first 3 but should have been far superior.

I guess Halo Infinite could be same situation, but I guess everyone’s opinion is different.

from what I have heard those on W10 should be alright. I don't think Forspoken released with DirectStorage v1.1 that includes support for GPU decompression as that only released back in November so unless the devs say it does or they plan to support it in the near future either W10 or W11 should be fine.
