so lets see if we can answer all of them:

  1. if the downloadable Edge works, you might be able to use cloud gaming
  2. the built-in special browser isn't a full chrome engine so it probably won't support cloud gaming
  3. quest doesn't have HDMI input so you can't connect your Xbox to it to use it like a monitor
  4. Yes Quest has use bluetooth controllers, which would include modern PS and Xbox controllers
  5. whether the Edge browser can use the bluetooth controller and play xcloud is something you'd be better suited to tell us if you have one 😉

You’d only be able to use Remote Play, which you need the console for. Without that, you’re out of luck.

Xcloud is in beta and continually expanding. This means both new countries/regions coming online as well as more capabilities in existing countries.

Give it a try and see. Also do a Speedtest on your own network connection to see how bad or good your basic internet latency is to start with.

For that money I could get stadia for like 15 years of xcloud for like 13 years.... So I only want cloud games because I can't run games anymore in my own computer....

you have to think about distance, it pings the input from where you live to a datacenter that has to do majority of the work before you see the image change on your side. there will be some input delay it will never replace native

Well for me I can hear everything everyone but my microphone just refuses to work. I have tested it on other apps such as discord and with my phone (Bose QC45) but with xcloud the microphone just doesn't work

Did you make sure your microphone wasn’t muted? If you touch the screen, there’s three dots. Tap that and unmute the microphone there.

Need some help with xcloud. No matter what game I play the microphone refuses to work. I know as a fact the microphone works on other apps as I have tested. They are Bose QC45 Wireless headphones. While wired and wireless they both don't work. I can hear everything but the microphone just doesn't work. Are there setting I have to change? I play rainbow six siege and fortnite.

Press the dots in the top left corner, then the three dots on the other side of the Xbox logo. After that, press the microphone icon. This will unmute your microphone on Cloud. Also make sure your device has permission to use the microphone if that’s something that needs to be done.

If I understood you correctly, before, you're trying to use cloud gaming to play your Xbox in London while staying in Southampton, right? If so, that's not what xCloud does for you, technically. You'll still be able to play GP games through the cloud, and they should retain your save files since those are synced with the cloud

You can, even without Ethernet, granted your wireless connection is good enough. For the best performance though, wired connections are recommended if playing Cloud via your console.

I hate that so much is pure digital these days which is why I got the series X cause it has a disc drive. My argument or at least part of it is what do you do if your playing a game or watching a show but wifi dies? With a disk drive and if you have a dvd copy as well you just insert the disc and start we’re you left off. Relying on pure digital is becoming a bad habit.

Cloud is streaming information from a data center over your internet connection, so it’s heavily dependent on your connection. You can’t really expect local-like performance from streaming.

Xbox don't make money on console hardware. They make money from subscriptions and software.

There are people who may not want to invest in a console, but would like to play some games. This gets to those people.

It also allows people who do have an Xbox to play wherever they are (within reason).

Choice is important. Microsoft are not stupid, they know what they're doing. It's not going to result in everyone suddenly saying 'Oh, guess I don't need an Xbox ever again'.
