I’ve got the classic “game sharing isn’t working” issue.

I have my brother’s Xbox set to my home Xbox, but he’s not able to take advantage of the Gamepass subscription in any regards. (In case people misunderstand, because there have now been two people, my brother’s Xbox console has my account, the one with the subscription, marked as my home Xbox)
Originally he had Gamepass core and so I figured it might need to run out first.

He says it’s run out but he’s still not getting access. I know that subscriptions give you a few days to even weeks after you miss a bill to make up for it, but I’d think a new, better subscription would override the old one. Especially when I even told him to cancel the recurring billing.

Any ideas?

If it was the Activision acquisition that pushed it up, rather let their fans pay extra on a separate tier rather than everyone accommodating them. Don't have any interest in games they publish.

Most of the indie games get onto Humble Choice and Epic freebies anyway so it's not something I can live without.

Even some first party titles I enjoyed on Game Pass get into decent bundles or sales like State of Decay 2 so I can own them anyway

yea console is technically an upgrade from core since it costs more. and you can only 'upgrade' you can't 'downgrade'
