Actually, the advantage I really love with Adobe is that it forces the AI to choose a specific format, like YouTube Shorts or landscape, etc., not to mention the 2K resolution that just came out.

The default Gemini website drives me crazy :x

the AI only does what I ask about once out of ten when I request a specific format.

Google AI Studio will generate in 4K resolution but its not available from every provider yet. And the aspect ratio you can use is a basic consideration really. Most do that.

I'm all for using Adobe but you were saying you didn't want all of these other tools/models. Adobe has some great tools and pipelines.

Adobe Firefly operates on credits system and each generation goes against your total credits. You can spend all of the credits on Gemini 3. You never have to use any other models. Its not like you're getting less value because they offer different partner models.

The point is: it doesn't matter, you don't have to use the others. You use the credits on whatever you want.

The option to use the Firefly, Flux or Ideogram models are always there if you need them.

Yes, you need an Adobe ID to use Firefly and partner models. I believe the free version has 25 credits, and the Creative Cloud subscription includes 4000 credits

I was able to disasismilate the hands but the ears are a problem

i need them to rotate 90 degrees on the axis point which they are conected to the skull and pull the top helix struture of the ear and conect it to the brow bone

and pull the hair on the skull slightly down on top the long ear form

all while maintaining the realistic photo grade quality

I have tried: technical terms and referring to other animals anatomy, trying fantasy terms using other images for reference... everything short of just going straight into Unreal 6 Beta... (tedious) or using Kritia - it jsut fills the sapce in like gum paste instead of manipulating and or reorienting the structure appropriately

i don't think it's going to be possible with firefly to apply such extreme and specific changes. Firefly doesn't understand instructions when generating images, but to be honest, it's going to be difficult to write a prompt that follows these instructions perfectly.

i used a image i generated off firefly, my prompt was simple "generate 3d model of my logo (logo) in start frame from a worm view tranisiton to a standard view of the logo while flying above the clouds transition into my flyer ( 2nd frame or end frame) as you can see its stunning however the spelling is not correct... very frustrating and every attempt there after cost me 400 credits and the renderings were trash in fact telling it to edit from this video the renderings were totally different ...im new to adobe to correct something shouldnt cost more credits anyway this is what i have

I mean maybe someone with more video experience can offer their expertise, but assuming you're using a start and end frame with the text spelled correctly, and assuming you're using the firefly model, i would simplify your prompt. Firefly doesn't follow directions about the frames in the prompt, and even with a simplified prompt, you still may get artifacts and spelling errors, that's sort of the nature of using AI. You could try a third party model.

I don't know what plan you have, but if you are using the other software and/or firefly features there's still plenty of value there. I don't really generate video, but still find value overall. Depending on the plan you have standard Firefly features have unlimited use. I think the credits and/or subscription model is how most software companies operate these days. You can try contacting support with account issues, we cannot access individual accounts here, but the credits are for generating, not for subjectively good results.

there's nothing like generative fill for video to replace those parts of the video so there wouldn't be an easy way to change that. The options would be using your correct image as the start/end frame or using it as a reference frame for one of the third party video models in firefly's image-to-video

Firefly doesn't do anything right. I give it AI-written prompts for making videos and it produces gibberish. The credits are quickly lost and you end up paying without getting any results. I threw my money away. The month will end and I'll give up. Enough of the work and the mockery from Adobe.

the model/method you use depends on the edits you're trying to make, for example model 5 usually sticks as close as possible to the reference image, vs model 4 which varies more. Generative fill lets you selectively edit vs generating an entire image which doesn't always work depending. You have to experiment to figure out the process

you can try using start and end frames when generating to connect them, and then composite them together, or composite them with something like premiere or express if you're comfortable with video editing. Larger more elaborate movements between sequences are going to be more difficult to connect

I am reporting an error that prevents me from using Firefly.

Firefly - Generation history -> Generate video.
After selecting a preview of a previously generated video, the transition opens a generation window for several dozen seconds to several minutes, during which time the CPU is loaded at 40-60% (i9 10-core (SIC!)) and usually ends with a message that the creation generated just a few hours earlier cannot be loaded.

One Google Chrome process takes up 50% of the CPU. The problem has been going on for at least a few days and nothing has changed. I've run out of patience, please excuse my tone. Do you guys check what you create? Do you run any performance testing profilers?

After restarting the browser and re-entering the Video Generation from History page, again 50% CPU load, on Dev Tools on the console after a while over 13,000 errors and 24,000 warnings.

It is impossible to load the video, impossible to watch it.

This is some kind of joke, the whole interface is unfinished, there is no convenient video preview, the video generation is disconnected from Boards, in Boards you cannot select the generation time for Veo 3.1 Fast (there is only 8s (SIC!)). I can compare it to the high-end plans offered by Freepik and Higgsfield, and the gap between you and them is downright embarrassing for a corporation as big as Adobe.

Firefly clearly falls into an infinite loop, there is no fallback for generated errors, and throwing tens of thousands of messages onto the console gives this effect.

The first thing I did was send a report, but even that is buggy and doesn't send, displaying the message “Looking for suggestions...” and hanging on that page.

I'm really not sure what you mean by the interface being unfinished, but if the website isn't loading properly, and you're having issues with the generation history page infinite loading, it could also be a browser issue, a third party extension interfering with the website

In addition to being a motion designer, I ran a creative agency, worked as a front-end developer, and designed interfaces and applications, including web applications. I use Firefly occasionally to utilize my AI credit pool. Even when Firefly works, because sometimes it did, it lags far, very far behind the competition. Video preview only after clicking and waiting for the prompt, video, and start frames to load? With a dozen or so generations, when you want to check something, it discourages you from working. It has bugs on Google Chrome, at least for me. I've now switched to Edge, and it works, but that doesn't mean there's no problem with Chrome.

Using Boards for video generation would be cool if it weren't for the fact that someone at Adobe forgot to give the option to choose the length of the video (SIC!), always giving the maximum time. Well, yes, the credits will run out faster... But when I need 4-5s shots, I don't need to generate 8 or 10s with 2x more credit consumption, not to mention that I2V generation behaves differently at 4s than at 8s. You have to rebuild the prompts, and sometimes I run them on several platforms at the same time. That's why you have to work in Generate video and... you don't want to work with Boards anymore.

Sorry for being snarky, but it's been building up. Please forward at least a screenshot from DevTools to support. And let them fix the bug report form, which is quite clever, by the way. The form goes to /dev/null and... there are no errors or problems...🙃

I’m not quite sure where to post this but in regards to the new video editor, last night In the video editor using the google generator I was trying to create a continuation of a video I had generated with firefly previously outside of the editor. I entered the prompt and hit generate then the dial did its spin around thing then the button refreshed to the generate state. The window on the history side said still generating. I waited and eventually the window disappeared. So I hit generate again. It did its thing and came back with a content flag. I went to my chat gtp app and prompted gpt to modify my prompt to one that wouldn’t get flagged. I entered that prompt and hit generate it went through the whole spinning dial to the window with the still generating to it disappeared and I got nothing so I switched to the firefly generator and hit generate it did the same thing. So I tried to generate new. The same prompt was still there. So I hit refresh nothing changed.

So I closed the chrome browser the only browser you can access it with. Reopened chrome went to firefly then the video editor. The video editor opened and as I was entering the prompt the history window populated with the half dozen videos that I had attempted to generate. I put the original generation of scene 1 with the generation of scene 2 that I liked. Scene 1 & 2 was the erinyes transforming into the Eumenides. Scene 3 is the Eumenides standing on a ledge watching a man snatch a ladies purse and for that I had gpt generate the prompt so as not to be flagged. What I got after generating, closing the browser, reopening loading firefly and selecting video edit, the Eumenides bore no resemblance to the previous scene and it was a mess so I took the Eumenides out of the prompt hit generate did the whole wait no result close the browser reload and I got a video of a man running up to a woman pantomiming the theft of her purse and running away. Comical but not at all useful so I had gpt generate another prompt. After repeating the whole circus show I got a man grabbing the womans purse but it was wrapped around her neck so he got nothing but a second purse magically appeared in his hands and he ran away.
At this point I’m frustrated fed up and thankfully I’m out of credits so I’m done playing with it till my credits reup next month.

Rough cut just introduced and the editor is still in Beta phase, so while finding the feedback useful I have to point out that it's sort of expected. When using it you'd still have to adapt to Firefly guidelines and recommended practices that we noticed do differ a tad from how other models at least from the user's side. While for image and video models deducted credits get restored I am unsure if it's installed it for the editor yet, so I'd suggest you perhaps getting in chat with Adobe support agents and see if they may restore it

it sounds like after you reloaded you had a different seed than before. If you're having issues with the editor specifically I would stick to the video generator instead for the time being, and then bring them into the editor, like Katarina said it's still in beta

I don't think those have been added to Firefly though.

Ugh, trying to get Firefly to stop generating a beard where there is none is a pain. I've tried every positive prompt (using the Image GPT 1.5 engine in FF) - "clean-shaven" "bare chin" "smooth skin" Nada. Of course the bust I'm working from also has a mustache and sideburns, but those I want to KEEP - not the stupid soul patch and 3 day scruff it's giving me.

You might want to try Nano Banana. It accepts negative prompts (most of the time) and you can give it detailed instructions of the kind that Firefly doesn't respond to.

I could see using Kling or Luma to use the motion in one video and apply it to a character image. That is a good use of AI video models (that have that capability).

It could also be a regional restriction, or if you're on an enterprise account, your account manager has not given you access to firefly. If the system is telling you to contact your "admin" makes it seem like you're in an Enterprise account that someone else controls. They would grant you access to various Adobe products and services based on their policies. If you're saying that you're on an individual plan (not educational or enterprise) then there must be some sort of problem with your Adobe account. Customer Care should be able to sort that out.

When they built the Firefly surface, it seems Firefly model had a character limit imposed (1024 or less). When they decided to add partner models, they never updated the GUI to accommodate longer prompts. Many people have complained about it. Thus far, they haven't made any updates to that.

Nah. I'm on the 7000 credits plan, what used to be called Firefly Pro and when I just tried Nano Banana Pro, the job costed me 40 credits. Nano Banana Pro is not on the list.

Better read those model lists carefully. "Nano Banana" means Gemini 2.5. Not Nano Banana 2 or Pro. Those aren't included in the promotion (unless you have the really large enterprise-type plans, i.e. 10,000 and 50,000 credit plans).

Considering custom models came out as a public beta only on Thursday, there hasn't been much discussion about sharing models at this point, you can ask in #firefly-custom-models , but i think most people are using custom models for personal use or use with a team on a specific project, considering the images uploaded to create a model have to be owned or licensed by the person creating the model.

I'm sure there will be more discussion about this in the future though

During my free trial period, the service worked perfectly with no issues whatsoever. I decided to purchase a paid subscription based on that experience. However, after upgrading, I was only able to generate images successfully for a single day. Since then, every generation attempt fails with the error above. Balance is fine and no credits are lost during the failing attempts.

yes everything is good. I manage 4 accounts with Creative Cloud Pro, it does include 4000 credits per month per user with Firefly. It is billed and paid annually. But still it is not working… pretty unacceptable and not worth the price of Creative Cloud Pro if features are not working.

If you're having issues generating with the Gemini models, it's a Google issue. Gemini is reporting:

As of March 27, 2026, there are widespread reports of infrastructure bottlenecks specifically affecting the Gemini 2.5 and 3.0 series, including the "Nano Banana" models.

Some people using the API have reported hitting 502 (Bad Gateway) or 503 (Service Overloaded) error on the backend calls.

Just throwing that out there.

When using Firefly, I prefer to download the url as an app, rather than trying to find the tab inside of Google Chrome, is their a way to reset the session you're on?

Even now when using "Open new window" on MacOS it's reopening the session I am already in, which sometimes I am wanting a brand new session, due to the amount of generated content can make the window begin to lag

I actually figured it out...quite by mistake! If you highlight the text you want a VO for, a box appears that asks what type of tone you want. To the left of that, ypu will see the word "Play" and a sideways triangle. Click on that and you can determine the right tone, pitch, speed, but most of all CORRECT PROUNUNCIATION even if you have to spell the word weird to make it sound right!!!

If the problem is on your end, trying an alternate browser or your main browser in private browsing mode would likely tell you whether browser extensions might be interfering. Generating images is a shared resource and even with the best planning, demand can exceed the compute resources. There is nothing you can do in that case but wait for the resource allocation issue to be fixed.

Prompting is a slot machine with slightly better odds. You put in your token(s) and pull the handle. You increase your odds by writing more descriptive prompts. The real trick is learning how to speak "Imagery Slot Machine." :)

I couldn’t find info on model 5, but 4 ultra is still a premium model and not open for the regular student accounts. Since model 5 is newer I’m assuming thats also premium and thats why you can’t access it. It is possible for your school to upgrade but this is something your admin has to do.

The quickest solution would be to use model 4.

you can use Adobe Express for the clips and the Transitions. That would also have the benefit that you can add some music if you like and you can send files direct to Express.

Try Nano Banana Pro. Give it the style instructions for the "wet watercolor" aesthetic that you're after. I would use all of those keywords you've provided here. Probably require a bit of experimentation but it can do it.

With Firefly, shorter and more concise prompts prove to work better. There is no exact scheme to follow, you'd use combination of prompting or/and references based on what you are working on. Thanks @rain oriole and @astral jolt for your replies and I've had mixed results with Firefly when I have used it inside PS to do things - sometimes I get better results with more accurate prompts and sometimes it's the opposite
I only use it occasionally so I don't have any deep experience from FF and my uses cases are bit more creative and I won't use it when I'm editing my photos that I take and share - actually for that use case I try to avoid using it or maybe only removing individual dust particles if those happen to appear in the photo and that job FF does very well

I suggest you generate images of the man first. Then use those images are reference images for generating the video. Attempting to do this all at once is not likely to give you what you want. Create the character and environment first with something like Nano Banana Pro. Then perhapos animate it with Kling.
