there was a vote taken before these achievements were implemented to make sure the community got their voice heard. it was advertised in the steam discussion as well to make sure everyone had the best chance at giving their opinion. the vote was in clear favor of more achievements. please respect this has been the voice of the players.

I think criticizing this are mostly achievement hunters - the kind of players who install the game, rush to get 100% completion as fast as possible, and then uninstall it right away. But the question is: what does this game actually mean to you?
Is it just a checklist of achievements to clear as quickly as possible, or a small, cozy game to spend time in, hang out, and enjoy the experience? Because the longer achievements make more sense for players who actually stay and play, not just those passing through for a quick 100%.

• 1. Indie demo:

• the Berlin apartment birdie (the canary bird in a green cage);

They all were available as rewards for playing the Bongo demo and various collab demos or event items (Pet Bat hat was on Halloween) during a certain period of time. Now, the only way to get them is by trading with friends or finding them on the Steam Market

No, all the new achievements (besides the bongo beat ones) on mine all say 0.0% for some reason, even the easy ones like "exchange 1 time" and "be in a lobby with 2 people" and "collect 5 items" all say 0.0% on my Steam for some reason. Probably just a Steam hiccup or something.

yes, there have been some problems with Steam lately, for one or two days it almost ceased to work for me (although I was still able to play games and my progress saved). I wasn't able to switch to any tab in the Steam desktop app, even to check my inventory or view my profile… Fortunately the achievements work fine for me, but it happens that Steam registers achievement progress with delay, and it may take a lot for it to register that you've advanced in your game and already met the achievement requirements

The issues aren't. However the achievements won't track if you are not on the update 😅 so making sure they have the update first

of course, after discovering there's the “update and restart” option I've been using it whenever I encounter any problem with Bongo Cat (even if the fault lays on Steam's side). And would recommend doing so to everyone who plays the game — even though there were no real updates from the devs that time, when I had problems with claiming Tap Tap Loot rewards, I tried to follow Marcel's instructions on Steam, which hadn't worked at first, but then I tried second time, more “thoroughly”, and exited the Cat only through “update and restart”, and, what I found interesting, that time it worked

so it's probably the first step to take while encountering any issues with the game

(lol, I've not realised there's this option until playing Tap Tap Loot, near the end of the test (not demo) version, and after finding that I thought: “hey, maybe Bongo has it too, it's such a useful solution”

@umbral cosmos, if you learned the person you were trying to do trade with was behaving this way in other situations, too, and made dishonest offers with different demands than they claimed to have, and then made unfair offers in attempt for a trade, maybe you could've reported it to Steam? I don't quite know how any fraud in Steam trading is possible and honestly, don't wish to know, and maybe this wasn't real fraud, just being unfair from that person's side. Still, Steam warns there might be suspicious trade offers and to be very cautious while trading. I tried to trade items for other game, Cat (an idle clicker, maybe you know it), and when I opened the trade offer that someone posted in that game's discussion, Steam labelled that user as suspicious (idk if they really were sus or not, but maybe they made some unfair offers in the past and were reported multiple times?)

I was talking about the Steam global achievements (so a Steam issue). It's probably my own Steam desktop client (I restart and update Steam regularly) that shows as 0.0% for the global achievements (my personal game achievements are fine though) seems like looking at the Bongo Cat global achievements on a regular browser the %'s are correct so it's probably just my Steam desktop client being weird.

Do you check it from the game page in your Library->Home or from your Profile? Sometimes it shows differently.

This has been a common issue with various Steam games. It happens every once in a while. Might be tied to new achievements getting added and something not getting synced correctly that fast.

Ah, yeah if I check it from my library, the new global achievements for bongo cat show as 0.0% but if I check them from my profile then the global %'s are correct on my desktop client.

I know its been stated multiple times across multiple announcements and comments and forums etc. But there is truly a talented team involved in everything here. The devs changed the timer from 2 to 15 minutes to not overload the steam api. You just need to be a bit patient your achievements to be sync.

UPD. Item Collector achievement refers to items, emojis and consumables. You need a total of 1,000 and don’t forget to count duplicates (the number Steam shows in your inventory only reflects the number of slots, how items are stacked).

I just checked. It goes based on total items in your inventory. So it will go down if you exchange before you get to 1000. It should be easy since consumables count though. If there is an event with consumables, you can get to a few thousand.

For people who are really into reading books, there are some websites or apps that allow people to re-type entire books so classic books (or maybe even e-books) while the person is reading they're also typing it. I've never used any of those websites/apps but they exist.

Personally, if I need taps to open bongo cat chests, something I like to do is just mindlessly tap on my keyboard (like ksfldferjlfdlj on notepad) while I'm watching youtube videos. That way I don't have to force myself to play another game or whatever if all I really want is taps to open bongo cat chests and watch youtube or whatever.

Interesting, those posts about VSync absolutely consuming CPU usage from back in Sep/Oct seem to still apply. On an i9 10885H, It sits around 6-7% usage, and after some time, jumps up to 10% and often stays there. A restart helps for a bit. Turning off VSync has it sitting between 0.2-1%. But turning it back on has it hovering anywhere between 1.5% and 8%, fluctuating up and down. Interesting indeed

I do, I have 16GB of shared GPU memory, but the iGPU utilisation seems to be entirely in the 3D engine, and not in the copy engine. Shared GPU utilisation isn't pushing past the 10%-ish mark on the iGPU and not even visible besides the top outline in my dGPU

Why don’t you just take screenshots of different skin/hat combinations yourself from the game’s second tab? You can simply try them on your cat (by clicking items from the all-items library in the 2nd tab, even if you don’t actually own them) and take a quick screenshot with F12. Later, all your screenshots will be in your Steam content section

Cats and hats are in the same box. They are classed as cosmetics, fireworks was our first consumable. Then you have the emotes through the other chest. 🙂
You also get some of the items from events or achievements.

Check in the graphics settings if you're using fullscreen. There might be a "borderless windowed" option. Windows' default fullscreen implementation automatically renders over just about everything else, but borderless windowed doesn't have that issue

If that's not an option or it doesn't help, try turning on admin mode in the bongo cat settings
