The beauty of it is that the paid format would be entirely optional, just like the rest of the shop. Other than a fun bonus emote for its users, it would predominantly serve as another form of income the game brings in for the devs

During the event people could get the fireworks for free and if people really wanted more, they could buy more from the steam marketplace (I think???). I think(?) people can still buy the fireworks from the steam marketplace (not sure, I just checked and didn't find any). If they brought it back behind a paywall, I would be meh about it. Maybe they could still bring it back occasionally during major holidays for people to get more for free but the optional part could be what you said, giving people the option to buy more but still letting people be able to get some for free and not just 100% put it behind a paywall.

Edit: (Or maybe if it's not available in the marketplace, people were trading for it)

Plus even then I feel like it'd still feel too expensive since they're consumables so if you like them enough to buy them you'd probably want a lot, as opposed to like common items and stuff where even if you're buying them there's really no reason to ever want more than one

I think it could be a fun idea. Especially as a small revenue part for the company as well. Especially if you were able to get some for free once in a while during events.

Steam just updated and added new store tags including "Desktop Companion" nice, nice. Around the time Bongo Cat came out, I've since seen a lot of Bongo Cat-like games coming out too and I've been hopelessly addicted to them all. It definitely seems to have become its own genre on Steam. I'm always searching the "idler" or "utilities" or "relaxing" etc. tags for games similar to Bongo Cat so it's nice to see Steam added a better tag for games like this. Yay.

No, there’s nothing like that in the game. You have to take a little break from whatever you’re doing, click on the chest, see what dropped, and try on the cute new hat/skin you got 😊

Why call it “forcing” right away?)))) You can still be AFK - for example, watching a movie in fullscreen with Bongo Cat set to Always on Top, so you can notice when a chest appears and click it. It’s harder to keep track of them while playing other games when the cat isn’t Always on Top.

Hey I got a small suggestion on the competition coming up
Spoiling the names of who is in the pictures and stuff
Cause like if I know the person whos image it is I wont vote due to it being them, because I feel like it would take away from seeing the actual image and not just as a friends image

I imagine some people are like that or only vote to their friends and such

you should always vote for your favorite in the competition. not worry about who is who. if you are voting for the person and not the theme that is pretty bad. :/
if I found out people only voted for me because of who I am and not because I had the best entry I would get quite upset.

No, I assume it’s just Steam’s regular weekly Tuesday maintenance, so temporary issues like chests not opening or lobbies closing can happen during that time.

It normally doesn’t last very long though - usually around 10–30 minutes.
but lobbies are closing and everyone has to create new ones from scratch
