Hi! I know the titan rune beta dungeons are still new, but hoping somebody knows the answer anyways. I regularly do Halls of Lightning and Halls of Stone on the new difficulty with roughly the same group in my guild: a paladin healer (me), a paladin tank, an enh shaman, a mage, and the 5th is whoever is around in our guild (usually a druid or a hunter).

Consistently, the shaman's insanity drops a lot faster than everyone else's. The ranged might be at 50-60, the tank might be at 40, but he'll be down to 15-20. We're not getting stuck on the tentacle, but he has gone insane a couple of times right as we down it. Is there (1) a reason his insanity goes down much faster than everyone else's and (2) a way to mitigate it a bit?

you should check it out yourself to be sure, but my guess is that it shouldn't affect XP gain, since you still produce damage output, which helps others to gain XP.

Another thing that kinda validates my guess is that level 80 characters do not gain any XP as well, and XP is being cut if there's level 80 in your leveling party.

Can someone explain the "re-balancing" strategy for WotLK classic? My understanding was that things like the Ret pally damage on taunt thing was to compensate for the game being played on a later patch (which balanced Ret with ICC ilevel, but nerfed them unnessecarily during early raid tiers). However, it seems they decided to keep the taunt buff in place for ICC? I am fine with that...except it make no sense to me that they applied a "non-classic" buff to a spec that was already performing better than some others. Where is the buff for Arms warriors in PvE? Is there a blue post clarifying the intent here or is this just as random and stupid as it seems?

There are no XP boosts. Only a lvl boost. The thing about Classic, is that lvling is part of the journey. I would honestly suggest choose a class you like and just start playing. Do quests and do dungeons. You'll get to 80 after a while and then you'll have a better connection to your character and the game for it.

Does anyone use Solace of the Fallen (Trinket) on their character? From what I'm reading in its tooltip, its second effect seems to be essentially 16x8 = 128 Mp5, or 1536 mana per minute. This seems vastly, vastly superior to other trinkets with mana effects, such as Purified Lunar Dust (despite a higher iLvl), which has a chance of 304 Mp5 with a 50 second cooldown, which is about 1100 mana per minute (assuming it procs immediately once the proc cooldown is over). Am I missing something?

That's not a bug. Cata is when every class and spec get pushed to wearing the armor proficiency their class is meant to. IE, Warriors/paladins/DLs wearing plate, Hunters/Shamans wearing Mail, etc

As every spec gets a flat %boost to mainstat if they are wearing a full set of their highest armor proficiency

Hi, Im playing Shadow Priest in Cata Classic and im lvl 22. Most of the time in dungeons my dps is the lowest one (hunters deals damage like god). Is it normal or my dps will increase when i get new spells? (I usualls start with mind blast then shadow word pain and spamming mind flay untill i get shadow orbs and then mind blast again. Sometimes i use holy fire too.)

Just keep levelling and after like 74 you'll feel the difference!

Not sure if this is the best place to put this question but In classic blizzard fashion it's nearly impossible to submit a ticket to a GM (spend legit 15 mins trying to figure it out and everything just told me to check wow head... Ugh). ANYWAY - I'm currently leveling to 85 for the solo purpose of wanting to play cata arenas. The snag is that my server suddenly died when the cata pre patch dropped and every populated server is locked so I can't transfer to a pvp server with population even if I wanted to. My entire guild disappeared, not a soul in the major cities, less than 1000 items on the AH... like super dead.

I'm wondering if it's pointless for me be leveling at all? Will be able able to find arena partners cross servers when I hit max level? Kinda worrying cause i most def won't be finding partners in trade chat anytime soon.... Will most likely let my sub expire unless I can transfer to a populated pvp server or find a way to find arena teammates.

I played Retail for a few months last year and it didn't scratch the itch so I moved on to other games

I want to get back into it now and was thinking of going Cata Classic

After looking I think I may hop onto Grobbulus, looks pretty balanced

I've read a few reddit post and it seems like Cata isn't too bad

hey, i was wondering if anyone knows what addon for wow cata has like a little pop up (Similar to the level up pop up), that tells you when you can learn new spells, its like the icon with the name under, then text saying "Can now be learned at the class trainer" or something like that. its been a while since i saw it, but basically a pop up telling you, that there are new spells available at the trainer

there really isn't a MSQ in older WoW heck there isn't really one in retail all the much either, not like say FF. however you'll want to do the quests because it's the easiest way to gain exp in classic. but IIRC they removed attunements for raids in Cata so no you don't have to really do anything to access the endgame besides reach max level

i had to do it on an alt. It seems like if you play too far into the storyline of bfa when saurfang dies it bugs out the phasing. So you cant turn in the quest. I managed to work around it by playing on an alt thats it.

Running into some issues on the Cata ever since Dragon Soul dropped, wondering if anyone has had similar issues or run into a solution.

I (Blacksmithing lvl515) Purchases some cata pyrium blacksmithing patterns (both lvl510), however I am unable to learn them, I jsut get hit with an error message "The spell is not availible to you" and im just not sure what im missing. Any help would be appreciated, even if the answer is just "Dragon Soul broke it, just wait a bit" just to help me stop going crazy
