Isn’t really a best, it heavily depends on what u want to do in the game, what you want out of professions and how serious u are

Alchemy is very helpful for longer duration on potions and being able to easily craft them
Engineering gives you access to stealth gadgets, rocket boots and a battle res along with a few other QoL

The rest don’t really have something that unique or special besides just crafting gear or gathering materials

It’s likely to do with its model being a dynamic mount so the flapping comes from using an ability

So an oversight that the regular mount doesn’t have an “after X seconds do a flap”

im having an issue, i dont know if this happened to you guys, but for me its the 1st time, im playing dragon flight for the 1st time, i find everything confusing, the story line, the missions, i dont knwo where am i in the story, im driven to one place, then tells me to go the total opposite, just to investigate, (principal mission), i have been doing like more than 500 missions in dragons islands, and tells me 0/9 story mission done, also every time i finish a mission they give me 2, so i don have space for more. Its so frustrating, my worst wow experience yet. also some missions are bugged or something they dont start.

the story line is so bad and confusing that at some point i have seen alextraza duplicated in 2 missions at the same, time, its like they didnt take care of the tempo, its chaotic, seems like made by different people, and no one, tested it properly

1. All previous expansions are included in the base game you subscribe to. The only expansion you need to buy will be whatever is the current expansion, so that you can level to max level and play that expansion's content, zones, gameplay features and systems, and current endgame content. Right now you can pre-order the next expansion The War Within, which includes the current expansion Dragonflight.

3. No. Leveling is basically how you learn to play your character, and most players don't even consider a character fully "made" until it's max level. Leveling is more streamlined than it ever has been by default and is just a part of the learning experience. The game is designed so that you only need to play current content to be viable for current content.

4. PvP is a whole thing with various game modes, events, and activities. World PvP, rated and unrated arenas and battlegrounds, brawl events, and more can happen and you can pick and choose what type you play, if any at all.

5. No. Anyone who tells you the game is pay to win or has a pay to win element is a liar or has no idea what they're talking about.

My personal advice would be to play the Starter Account for free up to level 20 as much as you can. Make one of each class, try different combinations, and figure out the playstyle that you enjoy the most so that when you subscribe/buy gametime you're not wasting time deciding what you want your first character to be. Once you've locked in and subscribed/bought gametime, keep playing and level your character to level 60 before buying Dragonflight. You won't be able to access Dragonflight expansion content and level to 70 until then, so it would just save you up-front. Right now if you pre-order the next expansion, The War Within, it will include Dragonflight. That way you'll already have it on your account when it launches

Hi everyone, I have played the game a few times, on and off for a month or so each time. I keep trying to get into the game because it seems like everything id like: I love MMOs, endless content, social aspects to games, and just having fun with the potential to do so with friends. However, I keep dropping the game, mostly due to not finding a solid guild or having friends that play the game (or are willing to pay). Despite that, I keep coming back to the game, hoping the newest attempt will stick. I want to like the game but seem to lose steam as I level up and more things pile up, showing how complex/deep the game can be (for a noob).

My question is - what are some tips for someone wanting to find a long term mmo home? How can I better my chances of sticking with the game, in terms of getting help and joining a friends guild? Any advice is welcome, including class suggestions!

Also of note - I’m a dad of 2 young kids and typically only play a couple hours each night or so, basically when I can. Is this game friendly for that type of casual play? I don’t have much pvp interest atm.

It can be friendly for casual play. It all depends on what you want to do. If you want to raid on a casual level, you can always queue for 'Looking for Raid' in the group finder once you hit max level. And there is plenty of open world content to do if you don't want to do group content.

There is an in game feature to look for guilds on your server/faction. Press 'J' and go to 'guild finder' on the left panel. There's some criteria too you can choose from to search. Hopefully, in the next expansion, that feature will also allow searching for guild from the opposing faction as well.

taking advantage of the dreamsurge gold buff can be an "easy" way to make some gold, right now there should be 3 gold quests in the waking shores and if you complete them while the 100% gold rewards is up it's an easy 4k-ish. if you have multiple alts you can almost finish the 3 quests while the buff isn't up then when the buff is up finish the quests on as many alts as you can, you can easily make 80-100k in 30 mins if you have it setup correctly and have enough alts

of course that means to really make money you need to have alts prepared for this

When you open the window there are three options on the left "Dungeon Finder" is to queue up for various dungeons for example heroic or timewalking.

Raid Finder same for raids, but that's only for the lowes difficulty

Premage Groups is to find groups to do all kinds of conten, but its not automatic, people can decide who they want to play with there.

You can start your own groups or join somebody elses group, if you apply and they take you that is.

I have done world quest raids

when people talk about raids they mean dungeons that you do with 10-30 people, world quests are not really called raids.

There is no addon that will show you how to play your class/spec. That's something you have to learn thru experience, reading Guides and visiting your Class discord and talking with others

there are addons that tell you your rotation while playing yes, but without experience they won't make you a better player

The addon giving you warnings and instructions is called Deadly Boss Mods. you want to use that and its modules if you're serious about raiding.
There are some more like Hekili Priority Helper that suggests your next skill to use in your rotation but imo its better to actually learn your class since its just a suggestion and doesnt take every eventuality into account
