Don't overthink it. Play all of the content. It is ALL worth doing, even just for flightstones and crests to upgrade the gear that you do have

See treasures? Get them. See dirt piles? Dig them up. See a world quest? Do it. See an event? Run it.

Im glad you explained, I didn't realize it worked like that. DF is the first time Ive been at max level, so once level XP is removed, progression was confusing to me.

One other question I have then, is what is any other benefit of the quest line- is it just, you know, streamlined renown gain and such?

So from what I looked up, while cross-realm mythic raiding is available it still has the same wait period and doesn't count for the Hall of Fame, but I'd recommend checking the 10.1 patch notes to be sure

That gear is still upgradable. If that gear is better than what you already have, it's worth it. That's why I recommended doing Time Rifts as a source of gear upgrades to you twice before

Most rewards from world events have diminishing returns the more you do them, with most having the one big weekly reward quest. It's so you can't just grind the same stuff over and over for the same quality rewards, and it incentivizes playing more variety of content and makes it so much easier for players with alts or less playtime to stay competitive

My biggest advice too--especially for returning players--is to not assume how stuff works especially based on experience from previous expansions

Well thats good, without a doubt I can tell things are better now than they were before, just caught in the "I got to progress statistically" phase. Also afraid to spend resources, since I assume if I spend things like crests and F.Stones on lower rank gear, I cannot get those things back to spend on a higher rank gear if I find it, etc

Hey folks. I want to farm 'Heavy Junkboxes' to sell to people who need them for 'The Insane' achievement (I did it a few years back).

I've noticed that Teebu's Blazing Longsword can drop from them, so I'm wondering if it makes sense to unlock them and 'take a peak' inside each one before selling them, but wanted to make sure whoever I sell them to can still use for the quest credit? I'm not sure if the itemid or something weird would be different if they're open and cause them to not be counted as credit to hand the rep Q in.

Does anyone know if unlocked boxes can still be used for the Q? Couldn't find any info online so figured I'd ask here before I annoyed a GM at Blizzard with a ticket 🙂 Thanks!

To get ahead of the curve and fyraks mount u need to kill all bosses or just last two? also do you need to complete the emerald dream camp? or does it drop no matter where you are in the story. Also what are the chances and on what difficulty?

AotC is killing fyrakk on heroic, there's 3 mounts that drop from him 1 that only drops on mythic, one that is earned from killing him on heroic and another that drops off any difficulty of fyrakk. heroic mount is guaranteed and i believe the mythic mount drops 1/2 depending on the size of the group? the others are very little.

you don't have to do the story to get the drop but if you don't unlock the shield (the thing protecting the raid door) on whatever character you are on you can't walk in and need to be summoned in.

I mained a warlock the whole time and really like it,but want to try something else. Boosted a shadow priest with my shadowlands boost and didn’t like it at all, only played a few times. Leveled a ret paladin but didn’t really like the playstyle of it.

What class do you think would fit me best to boost? I would be thinking of a hunter, which would probably be safe call for me as it’s similar to warlock, but it’s similar to warlock.
I also really like the look of demon hunter, rogue, dk or warrior. But as I didn’t like the paladin I think I should go ranged dps.

Also big point: I want a class that is easy to play and can do all content. So probably hunter?

General advice, but never boost a class you do not already know how to play. I suspect the biggest issue you've been experiencing is because you've been boosting and not taking the time to lvl a class and learning it from the ground up. Avoid boosting classes/specs you don't know and try leveling manually, you will gain a better understanding of a class and become more acquianted with it and thus more likely to like it. Leveling is super fast these days.

To my knowledge, Macros are unable to help you in the way you desire. The game cannot be made in such a way that it plays the game for you. What you can do with Macros is apply various conditions that can aid with how abilities behave on your Action Bars. From the top of my head, you can add a [@player] tag to an ability such as the Shaman totems thus causing them to spawn at the player's feet in lieu of having to use your cursor and click for placement; as a Druid you can have the appropriate Druid Forms change automatically on a button so that if you're indoors (for example) the available form on a single button is the Cat Form, but if you're outside it instead is Travel Form etc.

You cannot have Macros that aren't dependent on your active interaction. You still have to click the button on your Action Bar, hence why you can't automate so that a button automatically goes off when you're at 40 Energy.

I'd say you could theoretically do that with /castsequence.

I have plenty of Macros on my Monk, for instance, where Tiger Palm (which is quite resource heavy) instead have a number of abilities between it and my next one. As such, when I press (1) I do Tiger Palm once, followed by 2-3 applicable abilities in-between, until it finally resets after an appropriate amount of time (for me) so that Tiger Palm can be used again.

It's not perfect, but what it does is that it allows me to not feel like my wings are being clipped by NOT ENOUGH ENERGY popping up every two seconds.

The room is intended to be skipped for solo runs, it's no worry at all. I do the raid every week.

Reset, wait for the liches and Valithria to respawn and then run along the edges of the room to the corridor and elevator on the far end of the hall. It'll take you down to a mob/trash encounter with various Nerubians until the gates open to outside to a terrace and balcony. Two frostwyrm drakes will fly down and land, and after they're defeated it'll summon Sindragosa. Once she's defeated, make your way back the way you came and take a right up the ramp right by where you came out onto the terrace. Follow the path until you get to the teleporter, at which you choose Upper Spire which takes you back to the central spire; in the middle of which is a portal to the Frozen Throne.

I think from a technical standpoint, the Underbelly is a mix between open world and a seamless instance (such as the Garrison). The severe phasing/sharding of that area as whole might contribute to various confusions for a function such as the Spirit Healer prompt regarding the location of the player Corpse.

The Sons of Hodir questline won't start until you've gotten to that point questing through the rest of Storm Peaks first and get to that part in the overall zone storyline, and if you're leveled past Northrend content then you won't see any quests unless you're tracking Trivial Quests

In order to unlock the Class Mounts from the Order Halls in Legion, a character of that Class needs to finish the whole Order Hall campaign up until they're eligible for the Class Mount. After doing it once, the mount is available to all other characters on an account of that class. There is no quick way around this, however. The mount is a reward for completing the whole of the Order Hall campaign which stretched across most of the Legion-expansion.

As per this top comment on the article page for Breaching the Tomb (from 2023/11/06), the achievement is seemingly not required for obtaining the Class Mount anymore. They do however reiterate that you need to complete your Class Order Hall campaign, as well as the quest A Hero's Weapon. This is then followed up by a quest given by Archmage Khadgar to begin the Armies of Legionfall campaign on the Broken Shore as well as obtaining the Legionfall champion as given through a quest Maiev Shadowsong.

After these two prerequisites (which should incredibly short compared to the whole of the Breaching the Tomb), the quest to begin your questline to recieve the mount becomes available.

@vale hawk i did it to myself twice. 1st - Dragon Isles Pathfinder is broken on boosted characters who cant interact with the scouting map at the beginning of dragonflight because of zone completion. 2nd - my boosted pally who did NOT complete any zones could do the storyline for Waking Hope, but then i accidentally accepted an alt skip halfway through the line, bricking them out of wrathion's gambit.

It's not too difficult and many people say Holy is very easy. You sound like you were playing in random groups, where people expect competency and not a practicing environment. You'll have a better time practicing in a pre-made group with a guild or community you know and friends--however, next content patch will introduce Follower Dungeons. These fill party positions with NPC party members so you can practice playing your spec in a controlled environment

You're overthinking it. Just practice playing Holy. Try out all of the specs. You won't know if you like them until you play them, and you won't get good at them until you play them a lot

I have maybe a niche question. I came back recently and my understanding is there was some sort of gear re-scaling that happened. Half of my legendaries seem to be the same ilvl they were in shadowlands and the other half are something that is actually usable in timewalking. Anyone have any clue why, or if this is fixable? I was very sad when I went to do ulduar timewalking which is scaled to ilvl 85 and realized my val'anyr was still ilvl 35... totally unusable.

When did you come back from? Because it sounds like you've been away since 2010's-ish.

Any gear of any previous expansion going into the next is defunct and void within roughly a month. So, the gear that players got in the last three months of Shadowlands, as an example, was completely useless and replaced within the first month of Dragonflight. On a more specialized level, for people running dedicated content this is true even between Seasons during an ongoing expansion. This is the nature of the game, it is the gameplay loop of the game itself. As such, If you're referring to Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings, the weapon has not been a viable piece of gear to use in any kind of content since early Cataclysm.

To answer why the weapon is level 35, is that what have done twice now is a so-called "stat squish" in where all the game's items were rescaled as Item Levels and applicable stats and damage numbers were balooning to the millions. Subsequently, with the release of Shadowlands did both another stat squish and a level squish where the player levels were rescaled that had balooned to 120 in Battle for Azeroth to instead be brough back down to 50.

The entire game world, all the zones, instances, level requirements for skills like Riding and Flying, gear and quests were scaled appropriately.

Yeah, I was about to address this. Because I saw now that you mention Shadowlands here.

That said, I have never heard of anyone using old gear in Timewalking content. Mostly because, AFAIK, there's an Item Level requirement for Timewalking. If you were fitted entirely in gear appropriate for the expansion the Timewalking event is for, you wouldn't be able to queue (AFAIK). Because the Item Level requirement is just a bit below the level of the gear that drops in Timewalking; which is intended to be used in modern content.

So, if you could use Val'anyr ... I'd wager it was because the rest of your gear pushed your Item Level up high enough that you were above the threshold.

I am fairly certain that the reason your Level 70 and its Shadowmourne is IL 35 is because you're scaled to Dragonflight. The higher you climb the level brackets, the greater the distance becomes in scale to the expansion of a past item.

If you keep leveling your Level 39 Death Knight, that IL 115 is gonna keep decreasing.

Edit: From what I'm able to gather, there is no consensus or a recognizable pattern to certain scalings on certain pieces of gear and in particular Legendaries from past expansion. I was of the belief that certain pieces of gear can scale after acquisition, and especially that Legendaries from way back did this, which it seemingly can't and they don't.

I have the same issue on reverse on my mages. My lvl 70 mage has ilvl 118 dragonwrath and my level 36 mage has an ilvl 37 dragonwrath.

If this is an actual issue, I'd wager that the reason haven't addressed it or don't see it as an issue is because that's not how the game's intended (presently) to be played. Most likely, if the issue is that persistent, it has to do with your machine. That's not to say it definitely does, poking support ( ☝️ ) is always a good idea as a final option. Pure speculation, granted.

So, as of recently (about a week now) I’ve been consistently getting ridiculously low frames. On lowest graphics possible, with the most optimal windows settings, updated drivers, stable addons, no viruses or poor resource allocation, I get approximately a low of 5 with a high of 20. I have confirmed, or at least have deduced that it is indeed only blizzard games, those being Overwatch and WoW, stayed Minecraft (if I lag on that than it’s definitely my PC, so I thought it was a good starting point for diagnostics), ESO and Elden ring. In all of those games I get around 80 with a high of 100 FPS. My friend has also been having the same problems, and specifically with blizzard.

I have a low-mid tier gaming laptop, so I understand it may not run well regardless, but it is substantially noticeable, I used to get 70 to 90 on WoW. I have a GTX 1650, i7 9750, 64 GB of DDR3, and a basic asus motherboard you could find anywhere but I assume it’s decent.

I honestly think I’ve tried everything, so I’m reaching out basically everywhere, any help would be appreciated.

Honestly i tested out follower dungeons last night and I can say if you’re looking for “fastest” because of experience gains. I promise you follower dungeons is not it. I did ruby life pools. And I will preface this with I think the follower system is nice and something that’s needed. However, out of the 3 bosses I did not receive an item. The dungeon took prolly, 2-3 times the length of a normal run with players would have taken. And each follower present decreases amount of exp earned by 5%

This doesn’t even get into the fact that you can only run 10 a day.

I'm checking to see if anyone experience the same issues I have or had a fix. I have been playing world of Warcraft on my steam deck exclusively since Nov 2022. It has it ups an downs , recently I've been experiencing random crashing . I'll be playing fine.... I'll doing a key and randomly the game freezes and it either closes out after crashing or I have to do it manually. I have tried switching between the latest GE protons , I messed around with settings in the game . I've noticed if I used direct x ,12 I get better fps but if I'm in the open world flying in certain zones it crashes and the character will be in a infinite loop of crashing once logged in. The only fix was switching to direct x 11 which has worse fps for some reason . But randomly while playing it will crash... Once it crashes
... Some reason the battle net launcher goes into this long..... Boot up with the launcher bar....takes forever to get back on . I usually play with the settings turned down kind of low . It only been recent that it's gotten worse lately .

If you already have friends playing the game, you should ideally try to be on the same realm as them - however, if you cannot this isn't too much of a problem, as being on the same realm only allows you to trade and join the same guild. If these aren't a problem, being on any realm in the same region (US/EU/Oceanic) will do.

If you do not have friends already playing and thus don't mind what realm you pick, generally any will do - Realms are split into RP (roleplay) and normal realms, and have varying population and horde:alliance split. It would be advisable to target a medium-high population realm (full simply means you may have a queue to log in) so you can better find guilds and a stable player economy. Many population trackers such as https://www.wowrealmpopulation.com/ exist, however many of these are somewhat outdated due to being broken by Blizzard.

Even if that were enabled, that's not something you do in a server with over 128k members. To try and answer your question though, you're going to have to be more specific. Where are you trying to quest where you can't see quests? It could be any number of reasons, such as not seeing low level quests by not enabling tracking Trivial Quests from the binoculars button over the minimap

What you're looking to learn about are called Stat Weights, and they can change dynamically for your character depending on your gear. Even a piece that may be BiS is typically only BiS when also paired with the other items on those lists and may even be a worse option overall, situationally.

Unfortunately there aren't many good ways to sim tanks or healers, true. At that point you just need to focus more on damage mitigation and healing output, respectively, and focusing more on utility and cooldown functionality

Every guide states that the stat priority is Haste > Crit > Vers > Mastery, though the Overall BiS list in Wowhead has a 9 Haste, 9 Crit, 7 Mastery and 3 Versatility pieces, resulting in having a lot more Mastery than Versatility, which does not make sense to me since the stat priority says otherwise.

I'd consult the comments, since plenty of them seem to be directions for easily missed steps in which you could be in a different phase and thus not be able to obtain the item.

Top comment seems like it has been useful for many, for instance.

So, an important note: If you didn't finish the quest yet which requires you to help Magni in Mount Hyjal, do it first, because even if you didn't accept the quest, Nordrassil will be in a different phase, where the azerite elementals are rampaging, and not the "original" one where the npcs are standing around. I learned it in the hard way...

If you don't have an actual question, this isn't really the channel for that. However:

• The game is designed to bring players to current content efficiently, and you only need to play current content in order to be relevant in current content. WoW has been around for 19 years and it would be agonizing to expect every new player to play through all of the expansions before playing anything that's actually relevant. This isn't a single-player storyline and experience, it's an MMO. Chromie Time isn't used to play through old content narratively--its entire purpose is to scale old expansion content to your level for the sake of leveling so that you don't do a few quests in one zone, then move on to the next because you've outleveled the content.
• Content scales to your level while you're leveling for the purpose of actually being able to level and still receive relevant rewards.
• Leaving a scenario before finishing it is kind of... not a thing in most games? The intros in particular can be very scripted or very specific instances, and you're supposed to actually finish them before you run off and do whatever you want

If a volunteer guide/mentor in the Newcomer Chat is trolling you, you should report them for misuse of the channel. That's not what it's there for. Murlocs/new players trolling you is expected, but they can be reported too

You'll find one near most inns and flightmasters, and if you ever get lost you can ask a guard for directions just as you're taught during the tutorial experience

I would recommend looking for a guild or community by advertising yourself as a player while also responding to guild advertisements in the appropriate Looking For Guild channels here in this server, in dedicated LFG servers or the appropriate channels on other community discord servers, using the ingame Guild & Community Finder window, on your realm's Trade and General channels, on the official forums page for your realm, and even on the appropriate sections of raider.io or wowprogress.

First time isn't a portal, you speak to an NPC in the portal room. Now she just says, "What's up, PlayerName?" and won't port me again. I can however restart Chromie Time to normal and back to WoD, but this just tells me to go through the portal to Ashran ... which has no quests, because I didn't finish the intro instance I guess

Chromie Time does not restart the questing experience. All it does is give you a breadcrumb quest to that content and scale the content to your level for the purpose of leveling, and disables at 60/61

Yeah, Chromie Time WoD doesn't send you to a portal room to be sent to Ashran. It sends you to the Blasted Lands to talk to Khadgar.

That's not what transparency is but you should learn that if the game warns you that you'll need to complete something you should complete it. Also safe to not leave scenarios and scripted events while doing the scenario or event

I have. When I did the Chromie thing the first time, I set it to WoD. It sent me to the portal room, but not through a portal --- it made me talk to an NPC to help Hradgar or w/e and just auto-ported me to Blasted Lands. I did some of the content, up to the point I got a blue weapon, and during that time I tamed 2 creatures and had full slots. Didn't know if I'd see more I liked ahead, so I hearthed out, stored them, and couldn't find my way back. I assumed "resetting" Chromie Time back&forth would re-start the questline so I could just do it over again from the beginning (no big loss tbh) but ultimately it just now tells me to go to Ashran, where there is nothing to be done. So I guess I can try to go to Blasted Lands on foot and see what happens but idk man I'm not confident lol 🤷

What may happen is when you go back through the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands, you'll bypass the entire intro and be sent directly to establishing your garrison. That character can no longer play the WoD intro scenario since you abandoned it
