I'm curious what's going on with all of those class Discords listed on WoWhead. Whenever I try to use them to ask class questions the users and moderators just troll you, and don't answer your question. I understand you're not support for them. However, it makes WoWhead look bad that those Discords act terrible to users trying to use them. You should take the links down, and link to mmo-champion instead, or a forum that doesn't tolerate behavior like that.

The WoWhead class Discords are even worse for trolling than GameFaqs and the WoW forums. (at least Shaman and Priest) I'm just surprised that WoWhead, which is such a useful resource even vaguely associates with them.

They'll troll me, and when I get frustrated and don't stop responding trying to get an answer, they eventually time me out for a day, and might answer me if I keep asking constantly.

Before that. Everyone I have ever met on the WoW forums in game complains about it. I pointed that out to them after getting frustrated, and telling them how I view their political movement, as people associated with it have threatened close Jewish friends of mine over the past 20 years.

People associated with the movement have commited crimes against Jewish friends of mine for being Jewish. Maybe, the entire movement is not antisemitic but there are definitely antisemites interacting with Jews I know who support it.

According to the ADL 2 billion people have antisemitic sentiments on the planet.

Wowhead doesn't run, operate, or manage the class discord servers. It states specifically on the page listing other community servers that these servers are listed because they are related to WoW and most of the listings were taken from Reddit's /r/wow discord list. There is no agenda on wowhead's part

In no way, do I think you have an agenda. Those Discords largely receive traffic from users through WoWhead now. Most people who are not on the far left were banned from Reddit over the past 15 years, and the site has been made unusable if you deviate from their opinion on topics at all. I don't know what it is but the Reddit community, now, seems to be one of the most toxic communities on the internet.

I think it would be a good business decision for WoWhead to stop listing those class Discords, and instead list forums like MMO Champions as they have moderation policies that stop the extremely negative behavior towards users the moderators on these sites encourage. The majority of users of these Discords I have spoken to have found them unusable from the behavior of high status moderators is no different from the trolls on those boards.

MMO Champions actually moderates their boards and quickly bans users for starting flame wars. Just mentioning this issue with the WoWhead class Discords. (everyone refers to them colloquially in WoW as the WoWhead class Discords. No one scrolls down to the bottom of the page to read your fine print about not being associated with these people.) Led to a moderator within a reasonable time locking my post, informing me this is not the place to discuss my ill treatment by others, and they are happy to have me on their forums asking detailed questions about WoW.

Here's an example of the differences between our interactions over the question of "Wand Weaving" On MMO Champion someone answered my question promptly and I moved on. On the Priest class Discord a bunch of people called me a moron for asking. If you just scroll through there it's nothing but that. Occasionally, they get an autistic person who tries to explain hoping they'll be reasonable, and the moderators just time you out, and might answer your question if you keep asking. To get them to even address my Wand Weaving question took me a month of asking to get a bunch of troll responses. If you just dig through there all of the responses to users of your site are there from mostly 20 people.

The answer to my question is yes, wand weaving works with specific spells if you can time key presses so the signal for your wand and instant reach the server at the same time. It is highly unlikely to be reliable, unless you have extremely rare network conditions that probably costs a billion dollars to create.

The worst part is even when these people troll you. They're still frequently wrong around nuanced issues in WoW, which MMO Champions has a moderator and userbase capable of answering these questions politely. I think it would be a good business decision for WoWhead to stop their association to these Class Discords by taking those links down and replacing them with links to more productive WoW forums.

Also apparently my interactions with them is partially a result of my name. Apparently, they have a rather surface level understanding of it, and acted bigoted towards people using the Persian name Zarathustra, since Hitler used the name once to promote his ideology. I have found WoWhead to be a wonderful resource for nearly 20 years. I think it's sad you're dirtying your name by associating with these individuals even as distantly as you are.

I just think you have bad business practices, and I'm writing letters about advocating for linking to other places on the web instead of those Discords. I think eventually WoWhead will be replaced by a competitor, like Allakhazam was, and linking to those Discords will be part of the reason. You could more actively curate the list or offer links to sites with less toxic communities. I think it's a bad business decision to associate with Reddit at all today, and it would benefit WoWhead to change the third party resources they link to. That's all I'm trying to do by writing letters. Reddit has a terrible reputation, and it's going to harm your business eventually by not distancing yourself from them.

I would like to suggest that for WoWHead talent calculator to put a Instanced PvP mode, where the talent nodes may reflect changes that would occur in battle grounds. for example Sub Rogue Finality: 1 talent: 15% Critical hit damage/ 2 talent 30% critical hit damage., but when joining a battle ground. it goes to 7/15 critical hit damage. there are other nodes out there that are affected when going into PvP instanced combat. i think it would be really helpful to have a tool that shows those changes

I, and others, review user submissions periodically each day. It rarely should take more than 24 hours. I believe yours are already approved and published.

There isn't a progress indicator page to use for tracking. But if you reload your build you'll see the Pending tag dropped once published.

There is a good feature on wowhead where it shows the ICD and proc chance of item effects in the effect description.

When an effect has an ICD in classic, it is almost always stored client-side and can be datamined and wowhead can know it. When an effect has a fixed % chance to trigger, same thing - it can be mined and known.

When an effect's chance to trigger is determined by weapon speed (the "PPM" system), it is not stored client-side and is not directly minable.

Many players that I have directed to wowhead to find out if things have ICDs get confused when no ICD information is listed. It is confusing to them and they think "wowhead doesnt know" when really the answer is "this item has no ICD, that is why no ICD is listed"

I think it would be good to list some text saying something about not having an ICD on item descriptions, because fewer people would be confused.

Feedback regarding all(?) WoW class leveling guides: Would it be possible to swap the Class tree and Spec tree tabs in order to match how they appear in-game?

Currently the left tab on Wowhead is Spec tree and right tab is Class tree (see screenshot), while in-game the left tree is for Class talents and the right one is for Spec talents. This seems to be consistent across all class leveling build guides, and feels rather counter-intuitive when you navigate between the tabs to lookup talents while leveling. I found the exact page you were mentioning; as a dev during the day, imho, there are two problems and solutions on this.

The problem appears to be an effort to conserve space on the smallest screen breakpoint (782px). Screenshot one is 783px, which is actually nice - the sidebar opener is separated cleanly from text. At 781px (screenshot 2) the padding on the text is removed along with the background difference and all screen horizontal real-estate is collapsed down to the text.

This is made arbitrarily worse by the fact that this page is long paragraph after long paragraph of technical information right off the bat, but the core problem is that on the lowest breakpoint for mobile, the menu button overlaps fully with the text.

Solutions could be:

• Take the same style as the > 782px breakpoint entirely, and forsake the no-column-side view
• Apply the following changes, causing the button to be clearly delineated and separated from the text at a ~16px horizontal real estate cost (screenshot 3):

That's an interesting and technical answer, I appreciate it. It's possible I'm the only one that it bugs, too so I don't know how much dev time "fixing" it is even worth. But I know that for me, it would be nearly as troublesome if it weren't covering text. I keep having to scroll slightly to read a particular line of text because of where my eyesight wants to fall.

It's definitely more noticeable there that it would be near the top of the screen.

You're priest BiS guide is screwing with the Whitemend market. No one is buying the set because the guide downplays the set as not being worth sacrificing a metagem for. But, if you do the math it's BiS for mana regen (depending on casts per second) and healing, until phase 5 or so. You get about 22 Mp5 to 35 mp5 from Whitemend, which is about equivalent to Insightful Eathstorm Diamond's mana regen. The only way you'd get more mana regen from Insightful Earthstorm is if you're intentionally being mana inefficent to get higher HPS for parsing on speed runs. But, I think if you're doing that you still want Whitemend for parsing higher on heals.

If you dig through the comments on every individual items it pretty much implies this on WoWhead across comment threads. But, the guide oversimplifies what's being discussed and does not mention the nuance, which basically ends up being use Whitemend Hood till phase 5 if you're min maxing, and have access to world boss kills. If you don't wear the full set. If you're trying to save gold just go with raid drops.

The wow retail class guides should include a BiS list for dungeons (M+) again. Many players don’t raid. In a content where most of the overall BiS gear comes from the raid is a dungeon list for this players extremely helpful.

and many guides leave out a large number of trinkets entirely. Some don’t even include a single trinket from the Delves. That’s not very helpful for most players — it really feels as if the guides are now focused solely on raid content, leaving many other players behind.

The "we" would be PayPal there. I couldn't tell you what the problem is, they're the processor, we're just the recipient. I'd recommend not using the PayPal option if it's giving you trouble. If you exclusively want to use them, try adding funds to your PayPal wallet first, and then see if you can sign up with that wallet as your payment method. It might help you bypass the problem.

Hi. Has anyone ever had a problem with the News feed on wowhead.com? The last few weeks I have not been able to access any news pages and it doesn't come up on the main page either. I didn't pay attention to this limitation because I use Wowhead in Russian (I only switched to English to take the first screenshot), and it lists a 50 reputation per week limit (and since I was getting more than 50 reputation, I thought there was no limit at all, and the words about a limit were from older versions). But in the English version (and, as I've now checked, in all other versions except Russian), the limit is actually 175 reputation points (and I had reached it by Wednesday).

Since the end of TWW Dracthyr Priests have had a bug where their Visage combat stance has been that of an evoker, effectively making them look like sumo wrestlers and not like casters.
Haven't seen any fixes, acknowedgements, etc. by Blizz and I fear that the population of Dracthyr priests is so small they aren't bothering to look into it.

If other Dracthyr priests that have bugged out visage combat stances read this chime in please. It's a visual bug, but it's bad enough that it really kills my motivation to play.

Feedback/question:
The PvP illusions (for sure the ones added over the last 3 expansions) aren't findable in their normal "illusion: name" or "name" formats, the search just returns blank result. They are in the wowhead DB and can be seen as part of the website's wardrobe preview, but you can't find a space to discuss them or post screenshots/vids as they don't seem to exist at all.

Could this be a point of enhancement? I'm sure people are wondering about these if they inspect somebody ingame and look it up on wowhead, but it just turns out empty in search right now (worst case) or points at a plaintext result in a guide article (best case)

Since this opinion is widespread and a point of contention in the player base and the dev team, I suspect that is why the effects aren't listed in the Appearances UI.

No, the same tool. I'm just explaining that it does a good job when the alternative is 100% of all news, Diablo or otherwise, via a single webhook. There will be some things that still get through that you or the server may not be interested in, but that's not possible to avoid. Deleting those articles is the easiest thing you can do.

I know this has been asked many times before and there is even a pinned comment about it, but none of the offered solutions have worked. I have flushed DNS, set up alternate DNS, restarted, I even had my modem and router replaced by my ISP for a different issue, added wowhead.com to the approve list in my router settings, turned off all add blockers, and added wowhead to my firewall's trusted sites. I see a ton of issues from UK ISPs, but I'm in the US. My wife's computer on the same network and all of our mobile devices on wifi work just fine. It's just this computer. I've tried Chrome and edge. Are there any solutions other than what I've already tried? And yes, checking the pinned comments has already been tried, so don't offer that. On the error page, it recommends going to another page on a static CDN (zanimg.com/test.html) which can not be reached, and the site on the anonymous CDN (nether.wowhead.com) which loads, saying I've been eaten by a nathzerim.

the tooltip script (whether direct HTML injection or via 3rd party application) , if used without terminating after each use is slowing down websites everywhere...I know the folks at Wowhead are aware of the issue. But folks that use the tooltip script, even at wowhead pages, will experience a vast slow down

Just an FYI....not complaining, I now y'all are working the problem 😉

Although I would make a suggestion; In the future when any of these features becomes unavailable or hits a snag...y'all may consider putting in a post at the top of the Script's page, so folks who go looking may be able to identify the that this may be the source of their pages issues....It took me a couple of hours of trouble shoot to nail down that the Satatic script was doing more than just leaving a bunch of unconverted links in it's wake...it actually creates for other issues, one of which is loading. Either extemely slowload or partial page load has occured at a few of the sites I own or co-manage .... just a consideration...take it for what it is worth 😉

There's some problems with entering contests when you have a profile converted to Custom.

It show's you've completed it, but I'm not sure if it counts or not

And then when you convert it back to a battle.net profile, it shows up twice

so here's how the site probably interpreted things:

the last upload we have from CalaelenDT is from 105 minutes ago. here's what probably happened:

1. log into mastadt
2. log out of wow, upload data to wowhead
3. wowhead ignored mastadt because it is not verified
4. refreshed mastadt in profiler, character now verified
5. upload data to wowhead again (but nothing got sent, because there's nothing new)

he recomends:

"gotta log in to wow again, log out,, and make sure the "Account-Specific data" window at the bottom of the client lists your account with profiles to update."

1. I logged in, unequipped items required for verification, closed WoW. 2) Refreshed profile, it now shows as verified. 3) Log in, open bags, bank and VS. 4) Go to wardrobe and load character.

I closed WoW again between steps 3 & 4.

That, and I was going by the notion that the client always collects even when it's not running, blacking out on the part that the actual data transfer doesn't happen until I click 'Upload'

The amount of quest gear I've unlocked feels very, very low

Feels like Blizzard hasn't added in all of them yet

As someone whose completed over 6000 unique quests, having only slightly over 900 appearance unlocks seems strange

Each quest has a gear reward on average so you'd think I'd have at least 5000 unlocks give or take

although I haven't added my main warrior thats done loremaster yet

My Loremaster Mage (albeit pre-Cata, no clue if all those rewards will be added or not?) has only 49 chest unlocks from quests

And 48 chests not unlocked yet from quests

Are there really less than 100 chest rewards from quests in the entire game?
