Hey guys, I am trying to join a server that uses the mod "GRS - Core", but when the download starts it gives me an error saying the mod cannot be downloaded. All the other mods are downloading correctly but only this mod is not. I can look it up on Google and find it on Arma's workshop (https://reforger.armaplatform.com/workshop/657B0B07C9203FA2) but I can't find it in the workshop in game, what can I do to fix this?

Not sure were to post this one. A server we play on once a week has broken. We can see the server, but everyone error's out when trying to connect to it. The only error showing on the server is:

It seems like this has just started happening since the last update on the 10th, as the last time the server worked was on the 6th. Can anyone help me I don't get how on vanilla server full I get 60fps on medium but then get 30fps on low setting and on modded servers wcs I think I get 30fps and it's so bad but even on high settings I get the same performance rx 570 4gb r5 1500x and 16gb ddr4 ram but on squad I get better performance on medium settings and looks much better even on modded servers

But still had so much fun on it just wish I could get better performance on modded servers at least 50fps stable it's weird bcs sometimes it is others is not

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right channel but we've been experiencing huge issues with our server lately and a few clues indicate that it could come from WCS based scenarios yet I can't really pinpoint what's exactly wrong. The server crashes after a few minutes, it could be 5 or 20. We suspect this has to do with the player count but we're not sure.

In the crash log, we have this line : "Scripts/Game/GameMode/SCR_BaseGameMode.c:1112 Function OnPlayerRoleChange".

It doesn't happen on vanilla scenarios and mostly when we add WCS from what I can tell. Has anyone experienced this issue ? Could anyone telle me how to fix this ? I'm looking for help here because I'm pretty desperate rn.

Playing "arcadey" servers is a bad way to learn the game. Lots of modded servers remove most of the mechanics which slow down the gameplay loop, meaning jumping straight into those then switching to vanilla or hardcore modded will leave you just as lost as if you'd not played the arcadey version

Hello. I've encountered a problem with joining a modded server (EU6 W.C.S.) where I need to update 3 mods, Belleau Wood, WCS_Rules & WCS_Core but when trying to join the server I'm immediately told that I can't download the mod updates (would insert screenshot but I can't):

Error: The following mods could not be downloaded:
- Belleau Wood
- WCS_Rules
- WCS_Core

I've verified my install, I've tried relocating ALL 497 of my mods to a different drive to then point at either the default directory or the new location under launch options, but I still keep getting the same issue. And this is the same no matter what server I join. I cannot update any mods whatsoever.

Does anyone know what's going on? Is anyone experiencing the same issue as me?

Check you mic input settings in Windows. For me, there's usually two on because I use a steelseries headset. I have to disable one of them each time I restart my computer and then it will use the other mic. It's the only game I do that for, but the workaround works.

EXD has 2 mods outside of vanilla - EU . Northcom - EU is on Summer break until the new update, and is heavily modded cold war. Those are the only EU options that get population

WZ Conflict NA is heavily modded, and only has population on weekend playtests (Saturday). Only gets 20ish people but the map is small enough that it feels completely fine and populated. I'm not from NA so that's the only NA server I know.

Had the dumbest thing happen today on an official server. One of the only 3 players tells me over radio not to cap something, I ignore it and go cap a zone solo. I hear a vehicle, finish clearing it, and the same guy shows up bloody and limping from crashing his ride, just to yell in direct and call me stupid for doin the damn objective. I ask him to repeat it, he does, so I reply with “Really? Stupid for playing the game and clearing a point by myself? Ya doh doh.” Told him I don’t argue with stupid people, just block em. Then him and his buddy threaten to vote kick me for not following orders. I TK'd him cause he would not shut up!, yeah. Not proud but I was sick of the puppet BS. Then his buddy threatens to “hunt me to no end,” tries to run me over, and just unloads insults, “no life,” “parents' basement,” the usual junk. I’ve got 10k+ hours in BI games, played since the early days of Arma. Just sad how toxic some people are when you're literally doing the objective.

Once again, asked a million times by million different people: I host a game and friend cannot connect. Used to work, then at some point stopped working without us doing any changes to anything. Error code when friend tries to join is "kick cause code group 1 reason 3".
I have opened port 2001 and tried some others, for example 177777. Firewall exceptions done as well. Game updated, verified integrity, reinstalled. Tested with upnp off and on

Play the Training all the way through before doing multiplayer. The goal of the Conflict gamemode is to aid your team in securing 5 of the 7 FOBs on the island of Everon (or 3 on Arland) by capturing bases from the FIA (AI non-player faction) or the enemy team. You can only capture a base that is within your team's radio range, so supplying and building up captured bases is critical. The map is just that, a paper map, so you'll need to learn how to navigate based on landmarks using a map and compass, you cannot see your own location in real time. Friendly squad leaders will appear on the map as blue (if youre US Army) or red (if USSR) squares or diamonds respectively

If you've already done training all the way through id recommend joining an Official Conflict server and spawning at Main Operating Base. Find a group who have mics and are talking in game and let them know youre new to the game and want to tag along with them. The learning curve for Reforger is pretty steep a first but once you start getting the hang of the overall picture it gets way easier

In terms of US based servers I’ve found FOR, Warpigs, and Inglorious Bastards to be pretty reliable

Official servers run on Nitrado, they will often lag and server fps will dip below 20 making the lag insufferable. The majority of community server run on dedicated machines that will provide you with a much better experience. Not perfect, but noticeably better that official servers.
Queue will usually go 1 minute per player so if the queue has 20 players, expect to wait at least 20 minutes.

In practical terms things that require network communication might seem delayed or busted for you, like bad hitreg, vehicles and players teleporting (a lot) instead of moving around smoothly.

Hey, just a heads-up, there actually isn’t a Hind (Mi-24) in Arma Reforger at the moment. Totally get how it can feel like a Hind with how intense the strafing runs can get though, those light helicopters with door gunners can still wreck a convoy fast. As for supplies, they can be a bit tricky at first. It’s all about keeping FOBs and logistics nodes stocked via trucks or airlifts.

For the most part that's correct yeah. The Mi-17 is how the company refers to the helicopter, but the Russian MoD refers to it as the Mi-8MT. They both respond to Stingers the same way so its all water under the bridge anyways 😉

The 17 is better, newer engine, I don't remember the specifics right now but that's the basic jist of it.

So, I don’t know if this is the right thread to start this little question in, but does anybody know if there’s a sort of Capture The Flag game mode Mod out there? Or possibly one in the works?🤔 I think it’d be a kinda cool idea to try out, granted it’d obviously be a much slower pace. But I like the idea of having two opposing teams with a basic objective. I feel like it could lend itself well to some really awesome pvp shit. Especially if there’s a large number of players on a smaller map and actualy being somewhat coordinated. Maybe have a slower reinforcement system, like an Air Assault from a deployment FOB or QRF on timers. I dunno, just kinda spitballing an idea that popped into my head that I personally have yet to see in ArmA. What do you guys think? Could it also be possible to do something similar to the Battlefield ‘Rush’ mode? 🤔

I know these imply heavy teamwork, coordination, and communication. But I think more kinetic game modes could be an interesting approach. I like KotH and all, just something different conceptually. I don’t have the knowledge or skillset to do something like that, so maybe this can serve as a bug in someone’s ear. 🤷‍♂️

TBH WCS has treated me so well in terms of the server experience and content that I haven't really gone anywhere else. as far as downloading mods goes- are you referring to the older RHS version that WCS was running for some time? I believe that has since been resolved so that you won't have to redownload the content packs when switching between non WCS servers if they are using the same version.

I see most other modded conflict servers as derivatives of the WCS style in a way however I see the WCS servers as superior because the devs are particular about what mods they host and then FORK them to maintain them so there isn't downtime if something breaks outside their control.

But as far as listening to their community goes they did a pretty good job at shelving the invasion experiment that they spent a lot of time on due to player sentiment. The recent tracer, launcher, and suppressor changes they have made have been controversial. I will admit that.

I see the devs iterating on these changes in a response to player sentiment. But it remains to be seen. It can be easy for people who work on creative projects to compromise quickly and I would actually encourage them to pursue their vision despite how people may or may not feel about it initially. My point is i really want to customize the interior of my base buildings while i play. For each prop placed it would benifit the team, reducing say cost of a soldier.

That much building freedom would rapidly lead to an overabundence of useless items, and could easily contribute to griefing by wasting supplies on, say, 200 lanterns and chairs in a base. As for rank carrying over, i see your point wrt the mortar systems being rarely used due to high rank/supply cost, however i think a better solution would be to simply lower the rank requirement for them rather than allow players to start matches with an advantage over the other team simply because theyve played longer that day.

Does someone knows things about nitrado servers. idont get the server to reset the scenario after reload. i want a fresh scenario without enemys and vehicles from the one that i loaded before.... i try since weeks and dont get it.

I have different scenarios on the same map but they are all saved in a different map.ent... if i put one in the server it loads all the enemys and vehicles. after changing to for instance mission2 the server also loads the things from before again....this fcks me up realy hard. i also deleted the saves in the file manager on the nitrado web interface...but nothing helped.

also tryed the config flag "persistence": false, and "persistenceEnabled": false, but this ends in a restart loop

Those are much simpler cases. Driving a vehicle yourself over dirt means that a lot of stuff is going on that your client and the server have to match up on, and if you get out of sync, you'll see the stuttering.

If possible, you could eliminate the wireless connection (I assume wifi) from the equation for a quick troubleshooting test. Is it possible to wire in?

For all that have problems connecting to the server or discount code during the game plz do these steps :
1 - hit run and type %temp% and delete all folders and files .
2 - go to your document folder --- my games --- Arma reforeger --- addons folder needs to be deleted all .
3 - restart your PC and start a game when, you start any mod Will install all the mods again and work normally again ... It seems some mods have issues when you update them and cause that problem.. plz let me know if that works for you ... It worked for me 🙏🏽

I found the King of the Hill servers are fast paced enough to get you familiar with combat.
but they aren't populated that often but it should have players around this time.
the mods thing is definitely annoying and the fact the dev team refuse to support steam workshop because of "too much work" is really something.
I been playing reforger less and less because I need to re-download updated mods and I only pull 10mbps or 150mbps on a good day when steam workshop could get me 600mbps+

I have one funny example. I tried get out from vehicle, but in game sometimes had some problem, when you stop engine and get out from vehicle, some times it start engine again. I stop vehicle, switch postion to passenger, but door was near building, i am try switch to driver again, but there was arma moment. I was on passenger position, but all control was on driver. I wouldn't get your hopes up, though. As BreadNButter tried to explain, consoles are not powerful enough (especially not a full Conflict match with AI and players) and there are likely other concerns (like the networking steps that are required to host on PC, which wouldn't be acceptable for consoles).

Reforger uses a client-server architecture. That means that for multiplayer to work, there must be one server that all of the clients connect to. With how that is implemented, the one server must handle all of the AI/mission logic/vehicle simulation/etc. (which consoles may not be able to handle) and must be publicly accessible from the correct ports on the internet (which requires manual steps on PC, and so wouldn't be acceptable on console). A "private lobby" is just a normal server (either standalone or on the PC version of the game) with a password.

Being voted as game master means that you have the ability to perform game master actions. It does not make you the server host: the server is still the one you joined before you were appointed.

A lot of games have matchmaking services that provide private rooms for people, Reforger does not. Basically what happens in those games is you reserve a small server owned by the game developers for you and your friends. Reforger does not have such features. All servers are either dedicated or hosted out of the PC version of the game.

Consoles are meant to have a very long life without issues, including with the SSD. SSDs wear from writes. Write enough to an SSD and it will eventually stop functioning. Thus, console manufacturers don't want games to have an unusually high amount of writes, or else it endangers their platform's image (if drives fail before the console gets too old).

For similar reasons, games shouldn't be able to take up significantly more space. Maybe there is more flexibility there, though.

Here's the short version.

They want to preserve the lifetime of the SSD by making data writes slower. Many data writes are required because of the limitation of disk space they chose which is 25G or just under 25G which requires people to constantly redownload mods when switching servers. Once they raise the 25G limit perhaps the write speed cap can be removed as console players will no longer spend more time downloading mods than playing the game.

This also isn't exclusive to Arma. Lots of games have all the new players or players of a certain mindset joining the American team (or the closest they can get). The result is that the other side tends to be more experienced.

Ive seen a few instances like the screenshot lately. Usually full of racism, and always blatantly cheating. For whatever reason its difficult or impossible to find the player in the admin ui. I'm guessng its some sort of string render issue?

Not allowing players with line breaks in the names in the first place seems like a simple solution.

I'm also wide open to ideas. Maybe there's a valid use case for allowing this?

Its not that complicated, if someones downed just first fix their bleeds and then give them morphine. If you have low blood then you give saline. You will be mainly just giving morphine as thats usually enough to wake someone up

I wonder if another work around would be to manually drag all the mods you want to use for the hosted local server into a “sub folder” in Documents/My Games/Arma Reforger/Addons, then move all your other downloaded mods out of your Addons folder into another temporary folder, then put your desired list of mods back into Addons.

That way, when you go to launch the local server, only the mods you want will be there to enable. And when you are done playing on the server, move all the other mods back into /Addons, so you don’t need to redownload them.

ace medical is a pain in the ass honestly unless you have a medic on you, give it about 60 seconds and if you dont recover con then respawn

also if you get up and you're leaking from multiple limbs, apply tourniquet first then bandage, tourniquet is faster and gives you ample time to apply banadage

tourniquet stops a bleed completely for both vanilla reforger medical and ace medical, carry saline bags if you're low on blood too

it takes a bit of setting up but i would look into the enfusion persistence framework. It's specifically designed to save and maintain the positions and states of absolutely everything, from magazine percentage to vehicle damage and player location, and creates a custom json file on your computer, or on your server, to read all the data back to you. If you want a gamemode which takes full advantage of it so you dont have to set it up yourself, look into Overthrow.

Sure you can skip those and just fight but your team will be at a disadvantage. Without logistics you have no supplies at forward bases, no supplies means you cant spawn there and the enemy will capture it. Base building is absolutely crucial to winning and without it your team will be stuck playing defense on the back foot all game. New players tend to want to just shoot people and play with all the guns, which results in them wasting huge amounts of supplies and other resources spawning vehicle after vehicle at rear bases, driving (getting lost) for 15 minutes trying to find the enemy, and dying as soon as they make contact

if youre just looking for quick gunfights don't play Conflict, Game Master servers are best for that. Conflict matches can last anywhere from 1-8hrs depending on how skilled both teams are

ahh, got it, i see now the Persistence Framework is more of a library than a mod itself. do you know of any mods that just add support saving/loading gamestate & player loadouts so we can run Combat Ops (we want PvE and there are ~5 of us) over multiple nights? or somethign in that direction? we gave Overthrow a shot last week but there were too many small issues

Sure, but most experienced players are not just fighting. They tend to blend supply running with capturing bases and building as they capture.

Ok let me be more specific then, I will join them whenever there is an assault so that I know what I am doing and be mindful on the supply consumption. Not really enter a game, and go full rambo on the enemy.

Your best bet is to play the tutorial all the way through so you can understand the mechanics of Conflict, then like you said tag along with a group of players with mics for your first couple of games. In terms of what youre talking about id say thats probably your best bet until you get the hang of the game, gl hf bro

The base building stuff is pretty easy tbh. At the very least destroy enemy radios when capping and put up your own when you get it. It takes like a minute max and helps your team immensely

I have one question regarding saving:
Is it possible now? If we play via Radmin or something like this and i host the Server. Can we save the Progress? Maybe via Zeus Menu?

Or is Radmin even required? Can i just invite friends via Steam and we play together AND can save?

I mean the Conflict Mode, to be clear.

And if we play so - are there AI Enemies?

No public server. I mean hosting via LAN / virtual LAN.

saving on server isn't necesasry, espeically PVE conflict (unless you have a mod that makes the enemy capture bases)

The Only AI you will see will be the FIA inbetween bases or at bases when they first get attacked. Once a Player faction captures a base, FIA won't spawn there unless connection to the HQ is lost.

Yeah, just leave the server running between sessions and it'll save where you left off (time will progress, but the enemy AI won't try to capture bases unless you have a mod like #1369135734577172490

Meh. That's the problem. I will just host a LAN game and the server will shut down after the session ends. Just like we play ArmA 3 and DRO / DCO or MCC.

yeah the server will need to keep running between sessions. you can't save a Server's Scenario, just a singleplayer one and load it into the server

First thing I would do is:
Go into Sound Options, make sure the playback device is correct for the headset you are using

As some brands, can do weird things with sound such as splitting game and chat into different sources

Even with suppressed weapons (with or without sub sonic ammo), there will be some audible sound from the gun. Silencers don’t make it silent, there is a reason they are referred to as sound suppressors as they suppress the sound not remove it

Disasbling and enabling the sound device in windows might also help… that does the trick for me in some other games where i experienced audio issues… or is this problmem persistant trough reboots of the computer and/or game?
