Is it possible to have custom fps cap?
how will the destructible buildings work? will they be handled like battlefield, where you can blow holes in it until it collapses? or will it use arma 3's modelswapping method?

- I doubt BattlEye will like it, since it's modifying the process (even when it doesn't change anything game related). So use at your own risk.
- No idea if it works with Reforger, or if it adds any benefits other than causing more issues (additional input/output lag due to extra process inbetween game and you)

Hi I don't know if someone can help me, but my time and weather entity keeps showing up with an error message saying that there is a virtual machine exception and the 'index is out of bounds' I've checked it repeatedly to see the issue, and tried debugging it but nothing seems to work. There is nothing about it on the forums either.
They said more like arma 3 but "better sound, better looking" but they acknowledged that we want "brick by brick" destruction but that's probably to demanding for now
What is your mod about, that error seems related to your mod

PIP scopes are very resource intensive so I'd suggest turning on 2d scopes in the settings, i used to have fps drops when aiming when I had a worse gpu

there are plenty of WW2 mods on arma 3, and there are mods for the Taliban, ISIS, Boko haram, Hamas. The list goes on. In other words you can make no no German stuff

How do I get the Mogadishu scenario on my server? It doesnt show as a scenario just a mod, but I cant get it running.
As i've mentioned twice, ask B.I. I just recall it being said at some point that they aren't allowed. I understand the implications of the symbol but, in order to make historically accurate items for custom game modes and such they kinda have to be included. Firstly not allowing use of the symbol is just hiding the facts of history, I personally don't see it as a hate symbol if it's used in a historical sense(Imagine watching a WWII movie that didn't display them....). I mean, the country that used it as a hate symbol hasn't used it in like 75 years. If I wanted to make a WW2 mod and wasn't allowed to upload to their workshop because I'd be banned if I did. I'd make the mod anyway and distribute via other means.
Not really, if it doesn't come from a green name then it's heresy. I think the actual problem here is uploading it to the workshop but, you'd have to take a look at all the TOS and EULAs. I faintly recall a green name saying it wasn't allowed and citing some TOS or something regarding "Hate Symbols".

Well, in typical Z fashion, everything is stolen from others. But yes, promo shots for his mod recreate real-life photos from news stories of war criminals in Bucha/Irpin area. The intent is to glorify the Z symboly.

as long as it respects BI guidelines, it is non-commercial, does not portray ongoing conflicts / invasions and/or terrorism / pornography or any other morally dubious things that would affect the image of our group (RHS) we generally tolerate most retextures
tbh i just want to do a factions mod so every nation has the same quality in terms of configuration, independent of what war criminals they might have

Hey guys, I used a program called "Lossless Scaling" on Arma Reforger, it's supposed to help scale windowed games to fullscreen. After this i got an error when trying to connect to servers "BATTLEYE=GLOBALBAN" Does this mean that the program got me banned? If so is there anything i can do about it?

are you trying to create a virtual arsenal or just specific items in a box?
you would have to use a subscene of the world and then if you want a virtual arsenal you would have to add a script, to add individual items i believe it is easier.
i would'nt recommend adding an arsenal to the base terrain way more simplistic the sub scene method

I don't think it actually is possible to edit arsenal configs in script, might be wrong tho

In Arma 3 it's very straightforward to pick the contents of an ammo box, puzzles me why Reforger is different/lacking.

we don't know, my honest belief is maybe 2 more updates max to Reforger then we get Arma 4 some time late 2024- 2025. But i could be wrong

I personally dont mind the very late cold war period. Would be easiest to do a4 in the same timeperiod as reforger since assets are supposed to be reused anways. There can always be bi expansions or cdlcs that move game into more contemporary period.

there isnt really solo gameplay in reforger

but once we do get mortars we need new emplacements that are protected against mortars, eg entrenchments
but i doubt we will ever get dugouts or trenches in reforger
more than likely will just be: HE, flares, smoke. And then you will have people modding in ISIS mortar trucks, and other goofy stuff like mustard gas and sarin.

what i will say is that i can guarantee you someone will make a terrorist-mortar thingy whether that is a truck, flatbed, camel we have to wait and see
, and with the sarin/mustard gas idea its not too difficult as a concept you just have to use a smoke shell relabel it and give the cloud formed script that damages the player regularly, someone created a radioactive fallout mod in arma 3 with that mechanic. It is feasible 
i loved the nukes in Arma 3, but the sub par destruction was always a bit of a turnoff, with reforgers new destruction system on the way i hope the segments from destruction (if there are any) are able to be manipulated by forces such as explosions or blast waves, then we will make reforger nuke 😆

You can name servers with no problems.

Its an add on to my scenario really. I removed it, but some people wanted it back in for their servers. So I just added it back in for others and made this mod for my servers. I dont want players on my pve servers to be able to build them and spawn ai. (Cuz theyre pretty much useless if you dont want that ability anyways)

There is a limit to the number of groups, I think.
But definitely one deployed radio per group right now.

for some reason when i created a 16km by 16km terrain my sat map worked fine, and so did the height map, but there was an invisible barrier preventing the camera from moving beyond a certain point 😟 , idk what caused it
Try restarting Reforger Tools and re-opening. That normally fixes it

Apart from modern warfare, vietnam era modded servers seem pretty popular. Tbh I think vietnam war experience is just one of those being ingrained into American pop culture, so it ends up having its following in reforger in spite of it not being modern warfare.

They used alot of horses, but they used alot more trucks, armored cars, and tanks
What germany lacked in firepower and manpower, they made up for in smart decisions on the Tactical level
Strategic, not so much, but the fact Germany was outnumbered 2 to 1 and was outgunned severely, and still managed to topple 3 countries in 4 months, proves why those tactics are still used by modern militaries today
there are the location of camps not to far from where i live where Aussie soldiers would bring "brumbies" (wild horses), break them in and train them for use in WW1 & WW2

first guerilla war, one without frontlines, and they got fucked hard, but hey lessons learned and soem good movies came out of it
vietnam was hybrid tbh. It was a mostly guerilal war but it included some epic clashes between conventional militaries( albiet underequiped relative to US armed forces)

C4 is relatively easy to create compared to making a helicopter 😂
You never know, it might be really hard
😐 , you can just use a grenade explosion in the animator upscale it, and then create a script for remote detonation and change the damage model of the 'grenade'
compared to animating a computer display in a huey, then adding functioning components, textures, hit boxes etc. Way easier
granted if you are new to modding that is 100+ hours to learn everything just for one block of C4

true, i think its because the ordinance side of things is being developed by BI, especially with mortars etc, so i think most modders are waiting for those assets to drop and see if there are any changes to damage models etc

i think there´s a mod that adds a civilian faction, but they just wear civilian clothes and are friendly to everyone
so they dont have special behaviour
you can learn, im currently figuring out blender. It just takes time and patience but the reward of being able to create whatever your heart desires is well worth the time spent to learn it

however, the m16a2 carbine has a muzzle velocity 93% that of the m16a2 in the game, so there is some difference in the weapon
yes, the shorter collider also means you can use it in closer proximity to walls/doors, and it weighs less
I vaguely remember it being neglibly less accurate but I haven't looked it up in workbench recently and don't have it in front of me

They already are, set the wind to full speed in any cardinal direction and fire tracers into the sky

But you'll build the smaller points. Doing recon to find the opponent's antenna and assaulting that so they can't capture the point. That's going to be huge for conflict. Yea it's a little more like squad but still different since it's needed for the antenna
yea, I think to get an enemy FOB on the map you'd have to use the marker system

unless it has forward facing miniguns it wont be carrying any ammo in the back except for ammo under the seats for door guns. Bt the real issue IRL was weight. of hanging stores. didnt leave you much room to throw in supplies or people before the thing wouldnt have the power to lift off the ground.
It would be nice to have an actual weight system where weight affects performance. Did your squad eat too many MREs before the mission? Too bad this thing can't take off. Did you put some rockets on it with a ton of supplies inside? Ditch some fuel to lighten the load so it can get off the ground.
it really depends on the platform. Uh1H is a much more underpowered relative to say a UH60 and more sensitive to how much weight you can put into it.
my DCS experience flying Uh1H it i could only conclude UH1 is only good for carrying the general , his assistant and some toilet paper rolls😂 ( obviously being hyperbolic, just to make a point). Irrc the absolute max weight for slingloading was 5000 lbs ( on paper) . Wheras even the earliest variant of the blackhawk, the UH60A could handle 8000.
And those characteristics should show. I feel like if you strap 16x hellfires to one and throw a full squad in the back that would probably affect it in some way
Uh1h is a "medium" utility lift chopper only in the most liberal interpretation of the word
to an extent it already does. Huey defintley handles worse with full supplies loaded up. but its still not too bad. Problem is there is no way to translate supplies to weight to the pilot.
290 supplies in the chopper tells me nothing. i cant decide then how many soldiers i can still afford to let on before its struggles to lift off the ground
Have a bar in the UI. Yellow = Fuel, Green = Supplies, Blue = Troops. Red X if you can't take off... or something similar. I've given this 2 minutes of thought
you can still sorta take off marginally overweight. Max fuel with miniguns or rockets, in the huey with door guns put me at lik 105% of acceptable weight in DCS. its still possible to take off, with Copilot and 2 AI manning the door guns. Its just really going to struggle during the initial liftoff. the thing with choppers that have wheels instead of skids, they are more forigiving for being overweight, because you can simply tilt the rotors with the flight stick downardsto get it to accelerate on the ground and once you have enough momentum pull the stick back to lift off.
Yeah and that kind of stuff would be nice. I'm not saying we have to go full DCS here but making people have to choose between supplies, fuel, people, weapons, max altitude, and speed would be a nice feature

I'm not sure how they do it, but modders will make mods for DayZ within the game files, and people can download them and add them into the server code of their custom console DayZ server that they rent

Tracked physics are hard to do properly
Probably for the same reason they don't plan on adding planes; it's a different vehicle type that will require work to get right and they had to draw the line somewhere.

i had this issue pop up randomly, i think it was something on my side that was issue, you should ask your frind to host the match on his machine instead
Port forwarding is a requirement if hosting locally
he does not need to because he is doing VLAN through hamachi, that is why people use it in first place

The game is installed on drive D. When you log into the server, it asks you to download mods, for some reason it downloads the mods to the My games/ Arma Reforger folder on drive C. How to fix it, help

Some vests have a flat reduction value, some have physics collisions. I've made my more damage mod to make bullets hurt more.

There's 259 group spawn positions
The groups are anywhere from 2 to 8 AI
So your absolute minimum is 500 AI and the absolute maximum is over 3000
Averages at around 2k AI
is the maximum with FIA roaming? or with AI spawned from US or soviet bases included?
becuse once FIA in bases and nearby patrols are neutralized generally speaking the only FIA i ever see again are the ones that respawn at supply depots
If you include bases, each base can hold 15 AI, I think
There's 27 bases in Everon, so that's another 350 AI ontop of whatever else
If you load up Everon and fly around Conflict in GM, you'll see that the patrols aren't always the same
One match it's a group of 8 looking for a fight
Another match it's a 2 man spotter team with a radio
not that im complaining as im happy that in conflict FIA is mostly just a speed bump to prevent people from insta seizing bases. I like being able to fight opposing team rather then having to deal with FIA all the time

run over to your enemy ask him politely to stand still, then run back to sniping position, line up target, then shoot, your bound to hit something!
but fr i suggest playing lowest ping servers and train beforehand with the exact rifle and optic you plan on using, then you will be hitting satisfying snipes
i usually use the SVD. the fact it doesnt have vanilla tracer mags makes it significantly harder for me to compensate
SVD is by far my favorite, while it doesn't have the variable zoom i do love the rangefinder

thesre is a curve thing you can see, line your target up from feet to head with the rangefinder, the number above this times by 100 is the approximate range, it is quite accurate in my experience

beyond marked ranges use the cheverons for the next 100 meter intervals, but by that point you are engaging targets well outside of effective range of the weapon
SVD is 200m - 800m engagments, but it can be used for closer if you remove scope and use irons
by the time you learn how to effectively utilize the scope the need for tracers will be a distant memory
the art 2 also has a rangefinder 😉 its just a less obvious one
yeah you need to use the mills and magnification in coordination with each other, honestly so much more work
it only feels like its more work because BI didnt model the power ring/ballistic cam
in game this adds an extra step of then adjust the zero of the gun
IRL marksmen of the day loved the ART scopes. It made ranging and then engaging targets really easy

They were pretty good before implementation too though but talk to one of their devs for a better picture

Doesn't even mention mirrors in the RFI. On Series S image quality/resolution and FPS are already lower than desirable; there is no overhead there to add vehicle mirrors, regardless of if PiP is more performant than in A3 or not.

Mainly audio, animations and lighting. But overall feel is just better. I have 3k hours in Arma 3 and I remember its jankiness so glad most of it is not present in Reforger.

I just downloaded Arma Reforger on my PC today and when I go to "Official, Community And/Or All" server listings, there is only ONE that can be found. Doe anybody know if I have to manually join servers or if random ones will pop up automatically?

So it seems almost every modded server uses RHS, however when ever i try to use it the US vehicles don't show up in the vehicle inventory to order. What gives? I have unintalled all mods and tried only RHS but to no avail. Anyone know if this is supposed to be this way and need other mods with it or is it user error aka me.
Dumb question but, MG/bipod users in general, how are you making use of MGs with how foliage is a lot more aggressive in Reforger? Besides only setting up on roads and rocks that is. I swear I'll go to engage something, prone out and bipod to be met with "Ah yes, this grass is grass."

Tough luck I suppose. Try looking for better spots, sometimes just small changes in terrain can do a big difference as far as these are considered. You can also sometimes flatten the grass a little bit by crawling forward and back.

the only real problem with these situations is if your opponent went gamermode and turned down grass to minimum

especially for new players, since experienced professional gamers like us know that grass is a trap in any game with such view distance

bushes work against most players and work extremely well against AI, buildings work against players but dont work against AI
when you have a pip optic you can see from the bush outward because the camera near plane prevents rendering the leaves
Then you still have the legs and arms sticking out like a sore thumb. Either way, doesn't matter. Nothing I can do about it even if I wanted to.
the only problem with distant buildings is interior shadows, which isnt too bad

at a distance people can be spotted in bushes easily, BUT this is only because the bottom of the bushes are quite visible and would otherwise be covered by grass, hence circling back to the grass issue

I think the recent patches improved this though, feels like they are not always fully concealing
distant shadows and grass have such a miniscule impact on performance i keep them on ultra, i know some people are extremely competitive and disable them and gamma boost, but it would just take the fun out of it

I actually tested this once and found the soviet pajama suit worked pretty good with the scrim helmet. Actually camouflaged well in a bush from about 600m away.
Bushes are my typical hiding places when sneaking around players. If I don't shoot, I'm basically never found when hiding in a bush.

GPU? 83C and 99% load is normal. Mine RX5700XT run at 90C 99% load. If I manually tweak fan curve, Maybe I'll get around 76-80C, but it get loud, so I don't do it anymore.

Unfortunately no. Maybe look for a mod, there is one for server savings but not sure about singleplayer.

I feel like, logically, the only way that could be possible would be because of network saturation from a lot of data being replicated. Unless if there is a bug that is getting triggered.

not necessarily, it is quite possible that console has limited development speed and difficulty, time is money and given all the extra workarounds required for consoles maybe BI just leaves reforger as a console game and does A4 on pc

I just can't think of anything so hard that it will stop them from wanting five times the sales of pc
hopefully once the rest of the features come to the game more pc players come back to even this out, but you are right from sales xbox is looking much more lucrative
It would be silly to put all this effort into good console and controller support only to ignore consoles in the next (and much bigger) entry to the series.

Maybe the pc sales of reforger are low because people didn't like the state of ea release on day 1, and either opted out or refunded, and are willing to wait for a4. Pc players can fall back on arma 3 consoles players can't. I mean even reforgers peak numbers still don't exceed current low point arma 3 players.
It is almost certainly a factor. Still, there are more console players in the world than PC players.
iirc in the image marek posted,, it was ~25k xbox players, and ~5k pc players. That was peak though. Before that, they were ~8k xbox and ~3k pc.
That is a lot of money to leave on the table if they decide to go pc only.
I'm sure it will release on console. And I'm sure theyl make extra money by re releasing on next gen consoles. It'll be good for console players anyways as theyl be able to play reforger ( or rather arma 4 by that point) with more frames.

On PC idk but on Controller you have to look at an AI and press Select + LB then you click on 'Recruit' after that you can give him any order by using the same buttons again. If you're not on controller it might be worth checking the Keybinds in the settings, look for 'ai Commanding', there should be two. One is for Emotes, and the other for the Orders.
Oh and you have to be a Squad Leader.

Select + RB for Emotes

I have a question if the Arma gods have time to answer, has there been any discussion about implementing detailed weapon handling like in DayZ? Maybe as an option, like some WWII games have the option for "automatic bolt" cycling? And for individual ammunition loading like in DayZ? I don't know why but one of my fondest memories of DayZ was walking around with a lever action, cycling the lever on a good cartridge and reloading that cartridge. It literally makes me want to buy a lever action.
Detailed loading could also open the door for more interesting weapons like muskets that have a more detailed manual of arms
Or even a jamming mechanic or the ability to remove the magazine and visually see how many rounds are left?
afaik all that's been mentioned has been that the latest experimental branch update added support for open-bolt weapons... nothing of what you've described is on the public roadmap, which is all that the developers will publicly guarantee, so this is a case of 'not impossible but BI won't commit to it in public' (the not impossible caveat is because BI never promised open-bolt weapons simulation either)

Aks74u should be seen as more of a pdw for pilots or vehicle crew then a carbine. There is a reason why with ak100 series they designed the ak105 ( 5.45x39) as a carbine that was more viable for spetznaz use then aks74u. Ak105 is shorter then ak74 utilizing a 12.5 inch barrel, but longer then the aks74u.
I tested the krinkov last night I have trouble hitting anything past 50 meters. Plus it's less controllable then ak in full auto. But comparing to a submachine gun at least it is shooting an interim sized cartridge so its going to punch harder, Wheras a 9mm is probably gonna feel lackluster against anyone wearing a flak vest.
Sure I'd expect a 9mm fired from a smg length barrel to hit a bit harder due to extra velocity but it's still just a 9mm.
the aks-74u is worse than the pp-2000 which is what replaced it, a real pdw with better ap ammo on top of everything mind you. tankers switched to the aks-74. basically the aks-74u was a giant pos.
I figure apart from it existing in reforgers time frame( and being iconic) the reason for aks74u was going to be suppressors for sof

The aks-74u was a terrible quick design that was slapped together for vehicle crewmen. There was a need for a short barrel length and the Russian army wanted to have it in 5.45 the same as the ak74s for supply reasons. It fell apart when shooting and had all kinds of design flaws. It was a big failure but very cool in video games

incorrect the aks-74u has 25mm more barrel and that short little barrel that is only 206mm long does nothing for the 5.45. there is a good reason why you dont see many of them today

well the PP2000 is the replacement of the 74U because as I stated before the 74U is too big and weak. the PP2000 is small and compact and fires at 550m/s. people think that the 74u is some great spec ops gun when in really it was a under preforming bulky pdw. this is not a debate on 5.45 vs 9mm its what happened in reality. with 74u you are already loosing 150m/s right at the start which why the sights only go up to 400m.
Pp2000 wasn't a thing in 89. The conversation only started because someone was asking if a mp5 would come for sof faction in reforger, and I joked that it would make the krinkov look practical
MP5 was funny in ARMA 2, you just poppoppop on enemy soldiers and they simply go prone and turn around to fire at you.
and then didnt even simulate armor then. id bet now that AI are wearing typical flak jackets SO id bet the end result would be the same in reforger.
I mean sure your spitting out 9mm at a bit faster velocity since you have more barrel length then a berretta m9 but presumably you are shooting a mp5 at longer ranges then you would attempt to try to shoot someone with a handgun, so with taking into consideration velocity loss stuff like pasgt, and 6b2 will likely still end up tanking 9mm anyways
Iirc this was pretty much because its war debut was in Afghanistan where -- like 5.56 x 45 mm out of a 14.5 inch barrel decades later -- it wasn't long-range enough for where their Afghan opposition was shooting from
In Conflict when fighting in close-ish quarters (like in an objective in a town at night), an AKS-74U is similarly effective to other rifles while being lighter/shorter and cheap.

Cuz theres a list of people who kill teammates, vote kick randoms etc constantly on public servers.
I don't remember which one, but a developer did say to dm them names, and evidence on here. Although, I don't think they can actually do anything about it. It's still not possible to perma ban players.
I havent looked into new server config stuff in a while, is there an admin mode that does not give GM rights? (Only kick or ban players, and maybe the GM camera mode so they can spy on players) Or is Admin/GM mode one in the same, and If so; any ability to black/whitelist those things in gm mode?
