Super quick question - How do I rotate the protractor in the map, on PC? It used to be hold Shift+ click and hold mouse. That seems to have been changed recently and I don't see it in the keybindings page in the settings menu.

Medical kit.
It has three purposes:
- Acts as a small arsenal for medical stuff only when dropped
- When held in hand you have interaction on other people to give them med supplies straight to their inventory (to a limit)
- Acts as a medkit, when held in hand you can use it to bandage/CAT/morphine/saline other players.
Number on bottom right represents supplies in range, bandages are free, everything else costs supplies.
So you need to carry supplies on you, or have vehicle/depot with supplies nearby
I don't like this generic "supply" idea. You should have to pre-plan what you need and not just turn supplies into what you need at the moment.
Agreed, outside of fortifications and "base building" I'm not a fan of the supply system
You can also access it while it's in your bag by pressing mmb, similar to how guns work

I would rather they don't complicate the supply system. keep it simple, let thee players focus on the more important part of the game, the fighting.

Will future enfusion games be able to run on MacOS? I know A3 supports it.
I don't think it's complicated to make people take the equipment they need. I shouldn't be able to convert supplies to more LAWs on the fly or to suddenly give myself a sniper rifle.
Fix it with crafting. Change supply to weapon parts and raw resources
It just add another step that I personally don't see as necessary to the experience.

We already have caves. We just need pickaxes.
It's far more interesting to require specific items than it is to just say here are supplies convert it into what you want. It opens up a lot more mission possibilities too
Get supplies, move to base, assault and take it. Three steps, simple. Adding two more steps of take the supplies back to the base, or maybe to a factory to convert it, then convert it, the move to base to assault and take it.
It is just this extra steps that will fall mainly on logistic players, who will be stuck doing this all round.

Take ammo, supply, or fuel in whatever combination you want, assault and take it. Same 3 steps

I mean I was mostly talking about how the medpack is dumb in the sense that it allows you to generate whatever you need without planning. But it also extends to the larger concept as well.
I just don't want logistic players to be forced to work non stop for the entire round. This is why I rather it is stay as simple as possible.
I don't mind the medkit as long as it needs supplies nearby to take items from it, and it is not infinite.
It'll probably end up getting to a point where it'll be all but mandatory to run ground based logistics runs as well as air because you know people are gonna be sapping the shit outta the roads
The simplicity fits the casual Conflict mode quite well imo. I will do 3 supply runs max before I go fight. I'm not there to do chores, I want to have fun. 
This is why I like the bases generating supplies. The system needs some adjustment, and some limitation, but in essence, it improves logistic players experience.
I'm worried about more than just Conflict. I don't want to be fixing tanks with wrenches when A4 roles out.
That's fair, I agree. As long as this is only for Reforger it's fine though.
Still bugs me that we're fixing tires with wrenches when there's a perfectly fine spare wheel though..
Yeah that's one of the features I wanted from a new engine. I want it to be more like DayZ where I need individual pieces of the car to fix it and they can take damage and require replacement

Hey, got a quick question. How do I unban people? A buddy of mine got too many team kills on my server and the bans are controlled by the game, not myself.
It said either he has to wait 1 day or wait until session end. I forced session end and he’s still banned for the day

Someone else stumbling upon your conversation, but do you know if there's a way to get a vector that translates to something easily converted to map grid? I know I'm asking this in the wrong channel, but doing a search of the entire discord server for map grids doesn't bring much up for scripting. Just a shot in the dark if you might know.
why would I randomly lose/gain favorite servers in the server browser?

no server is still up but for some reason its not in my favorites anymore and i have to re-favorite it

or I get some random server ive never played on added to my favorites

If you toggle it, it does hace some sort of a activation gate, but its quite low and non adjustable.
So if u have loud background or breathe in your mic, it will activate

A mod is corrupted either on your end or on the server's end. If youre the only one experiencing the error then clear your cache (xbox) or delete your addons folder (PC) and redownload the mods

As Servers become more stable, and are able to hold players with AI and without, will we be able to start launching servers back up to 200 or 300 concurent players?
I know early on we had 257 at the start and I know that was put down to 128 after the problems had with the systems at hand, But the main part of the question is as we gain more stability and as things get better with reforger, As proven with the Reforger nam servers being stable with 70 players and life servers stable with 128 will we see the player number rise, if not then why?
Is the towers in the forest cannot be penetrated? I fired at the wall and the floor from below but the guy on the tower still alive. I tested this offline btw, and only test with M16 and AK74
Hello there lads, I am working on something for Reforger MilSim I am part of, we already know that being a certain distance away from NPC's and shooting at them makes them confused and they don't know where you are shooting from. Does anyone know how far do you have to be so I don't have to go into few hours of testing? 😄
How did you figure out it would take hours to test ?
You have a map with 100m² squares, go GM, place a bot at x meters, shoot at it, and again untim you have your answer.
3 mins per 100 meters max ?
Now thinking back about it it's more seconds per 100 meters if you have any idea what your are doing
Hardest part will to find equivalent altitude between the shooter and the shootee
750m + seems to be the magic number

With mods, and you can't choose whatever preset you want. It's preset loadouts from the game.
With mods you can create custom loadouts and then add them to the loadout manager of the scenario you're running.

like gramps said, server manager can put their own preset, but it will be a specific predetermined preset chosen by the admins. The players, can't have it set up to whatever they want.

hi guys, new here! i played arma 3 a lot and im interested when arma reforger will have discounts on christmas for example.
Doubt it, it's only $30 but they just added the deluxe version which is $40 so in a way the price just went up last week. Those of us who had the game previously got the deluxe additions for free.

I can't join any modded server because whenever i try to join an error occurs group=4 'DATA' and error=2 'SCRIPT_MISMATCH'. To solve it i tried to disable any mod then try to join any modded server, delete all the mods and download them again, delete the cache of the game, veryfing game files, delete normally the game and download it again, delete the game completely including registry keys and any file and download it again, nothing worked.
As other people has had the same problem in the past, do you know of any solution about it?
Did you try to delete the addons file in document > my games > arma reforger?

Did the render distance for AI/players get reduced in 1.0.0.80? I used to he able to see full bodies out to 700m and floating shirts out to almost 900. Now i see the floating shirts starting at 350m and AI do not render at all past 450m. Im on xbox and its impossible to spot anyone past 400m

I dont think thats even possible, is it? To have both maps in one. According to BI theyre about 32Km apart so theyd either have to smash the two islands right next to each other or have a massive stretch of ocean between them
what if they expanded the maximum size of the maps and make the whole island chain, added proper ships and naval combat.

Id love to have multiple large (10km^2) island in one map but the issue i believe is inherent to Enfusion. Anything larger than 32.8km by 32.8km starts to have issues where stuff just fails to render, even up close

Some of the facial animations are quite hilarious. It's obvious the face rig is WIP. They don't even have teeth, and no tongue despite tongue bones. Not a priority yet likely.

it means you will have to delete all of your mods, and wait an hour to download them again.

Play the tutorial. That should help.
getting some vanilla conflict rounds in are a good way to get into the flow, ensure you have a mic however, it goes a long way trust me
I will always recommend joining milsims, I get bored of conflict quickly so I spend my time in milsims doing realistic ops etc and I think it's great fun
Especially if you get the right one the guys r friendly will teach u the ropes etc, but each to there own yk

Depends what is the license of the mod. Most mods are uploaded without license i.e. all rights reserved, where the answer would be no.

Arma 3 files have not been released. Also, Arma 2/3 use a different engine than reforger. It's not a straightforward port for most things.
im not a map maker, i figure you could ask wolf since he is moving cherno to reforger. he has had to remake the buildings though from a2. topography wise you could just use the real island, map textures idk.
wolfs stuff is from dayz, right? and is it easier because dayz is kind of using the enfusion engine? also i kind of get its not a straight forward port from armas previous engines to enfusion, but it could be done with enough time and effort, right?

It is possible to port Altis to AR once source files are released but it would be a ton of work
I remade everything from scratch. By having one screen Open with dayz and one with the editor trying my best to match it up

Hey guys, so I got a problem that happens pretty often now that when I try to scope in it just doesn't do anything, even though when I have the zoom in hold on right click and that works.... And sometimes directional input from my mouse stops working....
And when it happens I can't do anything with it until it stops after a bit... My mouse works fine in the inventory and stuff even while it's happening and it works fine in windows, so it's not a problem with my input device in particular ( probably )
I can second this issue, I restarted my computer and it seemed to fix itself.

Are your controls just randomly disabled, or does your character also randomly move, take out compass, look around etc. ?
No it's just that randomly either my scope in input stops working or my directional mouse input stops working
I see, since there's a bug where AI can take over characters. Have you tried deleting your profile folder in Documents/MyGames/ArmaReforger ? Some people have an issue where stuff binds itself to random keys behind the scenes, could be that.
This would reset all your keybinds, your graphic settings etc. including any of those hidden ones if there are any

hi guys i dont know if im in the right server for this but im having an issue with setting up my nitrado server for arma reforger in adding a modded map is anyone willing to help. this is what it says when trying to load the map my code works on official maps which is why im confused when it is going on about the maps mod itself . it looks like asset 5EED46C... passed in data.assets[] needs to return a string matching the regex pattern which expects a string such as 0.0.0, 19.11.10, 10.10.11111, etc. i'm not sure what data.assets[] is, or what the string output represents, but essentially data.assets[], presumably, a map, needs to return a string matching the regex pattern.
have you tried printing data.assets[...] to see what it gives? is that C# and enfusion engine? depending on what language that's in, the [] operator could be different.
if you do print it and you get null, then probably the asset wasn't loaded/added.
But it's the mod ID that is coming up as issue and it can be any mod just what ever is in the first position will pop up and I can't fina a data assets anywhere

I think it's based on vicinity. i.e. Being in the field hospital gives a boost to health regen/healing

There aren't any dates on the roadmap, they'll just be released when they're done. But yeah, AI will be able to drive all wheeled vehicles.

thy may have planned to do Mortars and AI driving, but maybe then will hit some walls, or realize they need something to be done first, and plans need to be remade, other stuff can be ready first in the end
so the logical conslusion is that to avoid any false hope do not plan too much ahead (that's why most of the time there isn't any date on those roadmaps)

I don’t know but 99% confident that this is not the case in reforger
I am pretty sure distance is the only thing that effects signal strength, they removed static however, I did suggest that forests and blocking terrain impact radio signal but I doubt we will get such a feature
It could be distorted to some extent but not as fully as with ACRE. Like for example muffled sound from radio when you are indoors and even more muffled when you are in caves/underground.
Like a filter or such. Could be cool for immersion but not too simulation-y for newcomers. That would come with ACRE.

I am fine with that. Arma was never really hardcore, only when ACE and ACRE showed up it went to actual milsim. I am fine with vanilla game being realistic but not autistically simulated. I myself do not enjoy everything ACE offers and some things feel like fluff.
I completely agree, there is realistic and autistic, you need to get a nice balance, I really do hope static comes back though and they disable teleportation and squad markers, tbh though I think the devs have just put them there as placeholder features for now to fill the gaps

How does build mode work? I go into build mode, place a structure, and it remains as a white ghost. When I leave build mode, I can just see the outline of it marked by posts in the ground. Do I need to supply the structure with building supplies?

if you go create a terrain in workbench the tanoa satmap will be applied by default, it looks really cool but like said above only a test, with that being said though reforger would 100% run tanoa with flying colors most likely

I am experiencing the same thing @mint crypt and also host with GTX using upgraded memory and other items.
In most cases it's a mod issue, so enable/disable one by one to see which one is the culprit 🤷

we've been having alot of issues in our hardcore servers with no killfeed with griefers taking advantage of it by deliberately teamkilling (shooting down choppers at main/general blatant teamkilling) since the latest patch. We have to rely on GMs to be everywhere at once which is an impossible task so for now we just deal with it. We all just waiting on a patch for it.
The vehicles disappearing is a whole seperate issue too, running logi is a task along with doing sabotage missions with a vic full of items just poofing away as u get out (3rd party trash cleaners). Kinda a mess atm.
why not just enable the killfeed
there are also mods that log teamkills to server log files
or someone has a disable ff mod too... 😉
interesting, having the killfeed off in the realism servers for obvious reasons. with it on you know if you unconned a player or got your kill through concealment (treelines etc.). enabling the killfeed takes those chaotic unknowns away from the experience. the better solution would be having a tk limit temp ban
the killfeed has an option to show only your faction, right? might help with tk stuff a little

It doesn't show your kills, it only shows your death. Like when someone kills you, or one of your faction.
I prefer killer and killed, group only. It only shows when you or one of your group is killed.

you can also get the disable ff mod
despawning of functional vehicles sucks hard, you only needs to clean dead bodies & items and it keeps the server plenty stable, played on a server which such mods and it was a blast, filling your trunks & arsenal trucks felt useful for once, allows you to build a fleet of vehicles at a base without needing to keep light & heavy maintenance points around so you get more room to fill your base with other structures.

They release the devblog few hours after the update, so they announce it later, not in advance.

I think its because its very technique, see how everything vanilla is well detailed and of quality

set it to 0% to make environmental noises louder, other side makes them quieter. i reccomend turning it down to 0, the environmental sounds are really good, but you cant even hear them
uhh is it normal for example walls of houses n other models to be loading super slowly? theyre always invisible for me when i spawn in and sometimes even when im just walking around

Mortars arent in vanilla yet, theres a mortar mod so if youre using that id say ask the author. Not sure who made it off the top of my head
The mortar mod says in the description it isn't modelled to be a properly functional mortar and work realistically how they should do, and don't have plans to ever do that.
It is pretty much a reskinned grenade launcher mounted to the ground with higher power/speed when propelled
And bugs out alot like the GL hitting the mortar hotbox and bouncing backwards
I've seen that happen in Arma 3 where the mortar just keeps firing and it's just ascending into the stratos.
When BI add working mortars it will be a game changer, might let modders make 155 artillery

depends a lot on what mods do
and how well they are made
there is no linear curve to measure it
Mods that add more content will generaly make loading slower and i think affect arsenal performance, any mods that have modified scripts have a chance of being quite unoptimized so keep an eye on them and pick the combination the works best
there is no direct relation between quantity of mods and performance of server
make sure that you are not mistaking your own FPS or your game's performance for the server's performance as they are separate (sometimes they correlate but not caused by the same reasons)

To be fair, with some exceptions (eg mods that attempt fix of garbage collector), mods dont improve preformance, they always degrade it. How much, depends on mod and what it does. Be that additional script game has to run, additional models, icons, increased load time etc.
Well written mods degrade preformance so minutely its not noticable, badly made mods can have huge impact for what they are supposed to do.
So your server can run 50 mods, that dont make any noticable preformance drop, or have 1 mod that hugely drops preformance.

Yeah I remember that discussion once, guy was running "only" 10 mods on his server and was furious he couldn't have more than 15 fps on the server
Turns out one of them was a "total conversion" mod, and just by looking in the comments everyone was complaining of low performances 😁

Good question! Would be nice if a mod is banned, then if it's in a servers config file it won't load that mod. My server ran empty all night and didn't realize people couldn't join because of a banned mod. Stolen assets or something? O.o

Anyone know if it exist a mod or WIP that remove the tip about your position on the bottom right corner, drop you somwhere on everon with an objective to reach ? So you just have to use your compass, map and tools to reach that point

well if youre patient enough you can see the modlist when youre joining, so just sit on that screen and write them down, then pull up your mod manager, pick them out 1 by 1 and make a preset after so you dont have to do it again

you could also ask the server owner for the json and i think that would work, but the manual method really doesnt take that long
then just save it to a mod preset afterwards.

Going off regorger site, that everon is located in "mid-atlantic" and that longest range vehicle is mi8 with 600km range, you really cant escape anywhere but into the sea. Except maybe arland
So you could have fun little scenario "Escape from Everon" and when you escape, it auto starts "Escape from Arland", where you escape back to Everon.
So you can keep escaping back and forth in hope of a better life.

Idk in arma3, ive done STS with a stargate mod. When player went thru stargate, to another planet, it connected them to another server, with diffrent map, preserved their loadout and medical condition.
But it is quite a hacky way to connect a player to other server, using a script by KillzoneKid which simulates player pressing buttons on various dialogs

What i love is the TKs. I think xbox players expect their tmate to have a nametag even 300m away. How much time teammates shoot at me from distance. It really take one button to press to use binos.. im sick of that. Thry should add a thing in the tutorial about identification before shooting

im going to guess not. the an/prc-77 irl has a range of 8 km. in game it has a range of 1.9. i think they tend to shorten things like this to help due to the smaller scale of everon

In a3 artillery computer can be simply disabled by single line. And you have to do calculations OR even faster use a range table.
Mortar range can be simply limited in game by charges you can attach to the shell. Eg just shell with primer (charge 0 or no charge) wont reach 4km. But in realistic terms you can stuff charge higher than mortar allows, cracking the tube or outright exploding it.
(Those are them colored rings that you attach to shell)

hey, I have a few questions as a new player. I jumped into conflict and joined a squad. After that I realised I can't find my squad on the map (individual players). Only thing I could find was a map marker identifying the position of the squad but I don't know what that means - maybe the squad leader? Because of that I don't really know where to spawn and when I picked a spawn I was even more lost because nobody was using the radio (I don't know the range of the radio either). The question is how do I find and join my squad in the middle of a running game? Years ago I played arma 3, mostly on a pve server that had a dedicated staging area for each squad and individual players positions were marked on the map at all times.
Most of that can be answered with, not only do you have to find the answer yourself but you also have the write the equation yourself
Squad in the game are not like actual squads that stick together. The mark on the map is your squad leader, and it refresh the position every 10 seconds.
Your best bet for any resemble of team work is to spawn at a base, and tag along with people there.
So an insane learning curve basically?

Squad Leaders are indeed marked on the map, it's the diamond with a square pattern. Your own squad leader has a more vibrant and non-transparent shade of red icon. If you right click on the map and select "Request transport", you are able to select your squad leader as something to teleport to. You're asked to select your own position on the map however, only then are you teleported.

I really did my best haha I tried talking to every player near me and everyone was just running in his own direction, not communicating anything. The only radio talk in about half an hour was a guy saying a sentence on platoon frequency radio. Maybe I just had a bad luck with the servers
It's the same across all servers. The mode conflict in it's current iteration doesn't lend it self well to teamplay.
You can't have teamplay that happens naturally, someone must always make the effort to herd players, and make them play together, which in my experience, doesn't happen, and when it does, doesn't last long.
It is pretty much same on any other public play multiplayer game. Sometimes team cooperation happens, sometimes not.
I have only experienced this once aussies are generally pretty talkative
