afaik they don't use same classnames or paths so they should work together, also Unsung was adjusted or there was a separate version released to fit the content of SOGPF, can't tell you right now.

and the differences are mainly around different maps and quality of the assets, both mod and CDLC share some assets and introduce something new, some of the similar stuff works or performs in a different way, there's no comparison list for that. You would have to check for yourself and decide which asset from which content suits you more.

I use VoiceAttack application with Woofer and Alpha Kilo's profile "SpeakEasy". It does require a paid version of voice attack. But it is totally seperate from the game, so no battleye warning issue. Only needing to use it's keybind file that it comes with. Also fairly easy to provide alternative words if it doesn't come easy out of your mouth, or incorrectly recognises the wrong words.

3060 is more than enough tbh, but you'll still struggle if you have some low end bottlenecking processor

Arma 3 came out back when GTX was at the 600 Series, and Intel Core was only at 3rd-gen... #hardware_vs_arma is the channel to ask, although iirc you'll want the CPU to be able to do 4.5 GHz consistently, and with RAM the speed and timings/latency matter

e.g. part of 'the problem with laptops' for Arma 3 is how often (nigh universally?) even 'gaming laptop' RAM is DDR4-3200 MHz and the manufacturers' pages almost never specify the timings or latency, I presume because timings/latency/RAM-speeds-above-3200 MHz matter a lot less to other games than to Arma 3

You say you want to Zeus for people and then when you find a group you like they want to micro-manage every aspect of everything you do, "add this script", "don't use that mod", "that's not realistic", "that part doesn't fit our group" and "oh join ground for like 5-6 months and then you can Zeus"

So you sit and set up your own unit, but lo and behold, no one's active. Nobody actually cares about the effort it takes to start up a mission. Nobody joins. You end up with like, 3 people in a mission designed for 8.

They don't understand that for you to prepare three hours of their amusement and enjoyment, you must spend 10-15 hours preparing it.

Arma is great, I have about 1000 hours

First DLC you should get is easily Apex, second you could do anything you want based on your playstyle, SOG Prarie Fire is a great DLC focused on Vietnam which does involve logistics and transporting. But again, it depends on if you're interested in that era or the 2035 storyline/game play.

As for the transporting and logistics, it depends entirely what gamemode you play. I don't play much multi-player outside of Zeus and Koth, but badlands or whatever it's called has base building.

SOG is a cDLC (it is a huge difference because while DLC stuff is accessible in Editor without owning it, you have to buy SOG or get the compat mod to actually test the content before you decide to spend money on it, this includes people who want to play your mission build with SOG) but everything else is right

Well, arma is really CPU heavy, so be on the lookout for that. I highly suggest you play trough the boot camp campaign when you’re starting out. It’s fun. It gets you into the game, and introduces you to the lore if you’re interested in that (despite not being a huge thing in the arma community, the lore is surprising good).

That is all up to you. Maybe you just want to try how it handles by weight and other factors, bullet drop at distance and such. Or just how it looks.

You don't get immediate access to all weapons in the campaign and showcases anyway. So just focus on the ones you get access too. In some missions/servers you get more freedom in the things you can get from the arsenal.

yes, comes with Jungle island terrain, much gear and vehicles, 1 campaign for single and mutiplay coop. And a sandbox campaign called Old Man.

I've tried UPNP (yes it is enabled on my router), and I've port forwarded, but when they try to direct connect to my server, they get stuck on the starting arma screen infinitely. APEX is a must have since people use a lot from it and contact is good for the map and gear.

Marksman, tanks, jets, laws of war, and spec ops are there if you just want to collect them. they all add something that people like. Attachments, Gear, Vehicles and some other goodies worth having.

But if anything Global Mobilization and Western Sarhara are the best ones for the map and gear

@subtle lily Global Mobilization are not very popular though on servers. Server browser shows less then 0.5% ( 17/5087 ) of all Arma 3 servers for a Weferlingen map. (Maybe this changes later in the day once Europe/German oriented countries are free from work) So his use of it is quite limited unless he starts a server and invites on his own. Western Sahara is only marginal better with 35 out of 5091 servers. It's quite new still. For comparison Livonia/Contact: 49/5100; Tanoa/Apex: 213/5104 ; Stratis/Basegame 102/5107; Altis/Basegame 1231/5119; Malden (free DLC) 190/5127 And there are numerous workshop mod terrains to come to the remainder of servers.

SOG Prairie Fire is good for 156 servers with Cam Lao Nam and 40 with Khe Sanh.

Take the numbers with a bit of salt though. It is very timezone dependant.

Me? I grew up extremely interested in the military, still am, playing games like Battlefield 3, MW2, and always thought there could be something bigger. I've studied military/war history my entire life, looked into becoming a game designer after years and years of writing down my ideas of what I wanted to create. Then discovered ArmA III and how cut-throat the gaming industry is. Absolutely every one of my "original" ideas were already done with ArmA or could have been created with it. I discovered that I could create whatever I wanted without a 4 year degree and plenty more of work experience, so here I am a founder of a milsim community crafting my own narratives/campaigns in my original vision.

Local servers and games can not be hosted on an IPv6 network, or IPv4 via DSlite tunnel!

Yeah, would be nice if Arma 3 would support IPv6, that would avoid some of the port forwarding issues with IPv4 not being fully supported by some ISPs. (for hosting servers) But people would still need to go into their routers to open ports in the firewall. It will just be named differently.

if you are talking about Video Options, you cannot set that to -1 — and you can set the values and see in real time

if you are talking about setViewDistance scripting command, -1 will reset back to user settings

Regarding Cold War US Army: I use SnS New Wave, NIArms AR15s and RHS to make a 1985 themed US Army right now. It's a little out there sometimes, but it will pass all but the most critical examination. As long as I can stay away from using trucks, I have no 5 ton

it doesn't work that way, barely any game on UE1, 2, 3, 3.5 or 4.x cold be moved to new engine, it ain't just the assets and configs but general behavior of the engine internal working

this applies for most of game engines, at some point the differences are too large

In Launcher mods tab unselect any mods if enabled. Select server in Internet tab of launcher and press join. Press button to download all the required mods. Play it when the game has started. It's not hard to figure that out.

that's an ace arsenal. to create one, select a box, scroll down to "ace arsenal", select "whitelist" if you want to only have certain items available. select "blacklist" if you want everything available (or want to just block specific items). when you've selected everything you need, click "ok"

RPG-42 is not a guided launcher. I recall that the reticle has 100, 200, 300... meters impact position. You need to range the distance so you know the distance between you and the target, then adjust your aim, fire, prey
