I did the ACF file hack and it stopped it. Basically manually copied all files from downloads. My biggest problem is that the Arma 3 Launcher has a limit of 3020 mods? But I have subscribed to MORE than that. Then it goes FIFO, first in, first installed and the rest after 3021 are WAITING to have their folder names created in !workshop folder so the launcher can actually "list and see it".

But my ARMA 3 Launcher still does NOT show all the mods I have physically installed on my SSD from Steam Workshop. There is a limit listing it in the launcher I think. OR it is a Steam Workshop issue.

No, but the mods downloaded after the limit are installed but A3 Launcher hangs when it tries to create the shortcut in the !workshop folder. So not sure how it would show it.

Hi! I was wondering, is it possible to get an option to sort active mod in the launcher? Maybe tags, alphabetically or other criteria? It would be easier to get the same mod order between units member (especially when many are loaded)
the order in the launcher resembles the order in which the game loads the mods. this used to be essential in the past that certain mods had to be launched in a specific order, not sure if this is still the case. newer mods solved this like the vanilla game with loadorder classes that define the loading order, but older mods don't have that.
so, sorting the mods that are loaded in the launcher might cause game issues

Yes, but me and my friend have a problem that if the mods aren't load in the exact same order we can't ear each other gunshots. Reading around in the forum I've read is a know problem, but it's annoying to order 96 mod every time we decide to change a bunch of them. That's why I was asking

you can save mod presets, and afaik they also save the order.
you can load the preset, delete one mod, load another mod, place it in order and all that in a matter of seconds

Make a symlink to the mods you are using into another folder. Then drag and drop all those symlinks into ARMA 3 Launcher. Sort it save it as a preset. It will hold the order. You can share the preset with your friend but they will also need to have the drive and folder names in the same folder. Suggest drive C to make it near universal for newbies.
Heya, is there a way to disable the automatic updates or perhaps switch back to an older mod version in the launcher yet?
I'm asking because we play a mission in our group every weekend and I'm afraid someday an larger mod update releases shortly before we start and then people can't join (slow internet, different mod versions, ...)

Make a COPY of the mod or mods from the launcher and use THAT version for your missions.
New issue with the ARMA 3 Launcher. Over the past 2 weeks, I see launcher creating between 1-4 new symbolic links so some of the older subscribed mods now show up in the Launcher. Problem is, some even older mods are being DELISTED like CUP CORE, RHS, CBA, etc... The mods itself are still in the x:Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\107410\ folder and being updated. Just passing it along to the launcher team to review. I did not UNSUBSCRIBE from any mods to keep my mods intact.

Weird thing just happened - launcher tells me all mods were updated, but none were downloaded. Yes all of them have "updated" behind them.
Does that to me all the time when going between different launchers for the various dev/stable etc. installations I have for the game. Presumably there's a log file somewhere that caches the current status of the launcher

Hey BIS, happy weekend. I still have the launcher issue where it does not show all steam workshop subscribed mods, but I now have the old problem where STEAM is "trying" to install a bunch of the workshop mods but only if I launch the game. It does this for an annoying 10-15 mins for me. It does NOT do this if I launch STEAM, it would download and update mods automatically with no problems, nor does it do this if I start the launcher into the desktop. It only does it right after the game starts. It also does it again if I close ARMA, and restart it such as switching between SP or MP, or MP to another MP server. I did try that hack to update the appworkshop_107410.acf file but it still does it. Hope you guys can advise some steps to solve it.

Added another image to my "Launcher not responding" issue. CPU is running at 3.7+ GHz and I've never seen any similar behavior with other game launchers or applications. It's only the A3 game launcher that does this.

I am unsure if I should ask this here or in #arma3_questions but I use the launcher to launch into 3den directly to edit missions, then also launch a dedicated server locally on the same PC to test it. But is there a way to use the preset or gui to select "serverside" mods only? So say mods XYZ are optional? like Blastcore? When I test my mission, I see other users trying to join, I allow this, but they get booted because the server does not make some mods optional? I did see the serverside parameter option but I have to type in all the mod directories manually instead of selecting it via the launcher? or is there another launcher I can use that would allow client, server and server side optional mods setting?

But making mods optional is not done by using the -serverMod flag but by copying the right mod keys to the /keys folder, so I'm not sure if you're really asking for what you actually want

From where does the launcher get the "required mods" number from a server? We have two servers, one live and one for test, both share same modset and string. Both have all 28 mods loaded on startup, but for live server the launcher shows 27 and for test it's 28 mods (28 is the correct amount). Counting the mods loaded, modstring and comparing it with the mods listed in the logfiles. It's not a huge issue and we can connect with all 28 mods even though it just says 27 but I'm just wondering what could cause this

Compos appears under 3den when you go into it to be placed down obto ajy terrain. It should not show up under the launcher.

Everytime I import a mod pack it keeps saying that all of the mods are corrupted.

so I unsubscribed to all my steam mods because I wanted to move it to my other drive. I made an export of all these mods before doing so. Now when I try to import it at least 95% of the mods are corrupted.

Hello, my friend got a problem
Yesterday i sent him a modpack of 52 mods and he started downloading them (subscribed to all of them)
Everything seemed normal but in the evening he turned off his computer and today in the morning the download didn't resume
Launcher says that it's waiting for download
There's the button to force download but it just brings up the window saying that the launcher is waiting for steam

Good morning y'all. I've come across something with one our guys where they've downloaded a HTML for a mod list but when they go to Import it, it doesn't show the .html file at all? I've never come across this in all my years of Arma. Lol. Anyone have any ideas?

My unit uses their own launcher (as do many others) and to keep things simple (and prevent duplicate downloads) we use the exact same modfolder name as the workshop variant of the mod.
And from time to time people complain about their mods mysteriously disappearing and having to be redownloaded

Anyone ever seen a situation where one person tries to start the game with a modlist that's confirmed to load fine for everyone else, but on their end it stops loading at "Loading Profile Options" and never loads the game? I've had them delete their profile in their my documents folder, verify integrity of game files thru steam, and nothing's working. They can load in vanilla just fine, but not with the modlist I gave them even though I and everyone else can

Dunno if this is the right place for it, but I am having an issue with a mod where I can't load it from the launcher even though the server I am trying to join requires said mod. I know that the mod I am trying to load has the right mod.cpp and meta.cpp files and is signed correctly, but for some reason when I try to join the server and the setup modlist option shows up, it won't give me the option to download it.

As Dedmen already mentioned, the ArmA Units error will not prevent you from playing. What exactly happens when you hit the "PLAY" button in the launcher?

Got you. You won't have an emblem until the Units services are back online. They have been down quite a while already though. I would suggest you switch to armasquads.

I've got a constantly recurring bug with the launcher which started about a week ago. No matter which preset I attempt to load, the launcher will always launch the game with a particular set of mods (one of my presets). Even when I select "Play without mods or optional DLC" button, the launcher will still launch the game with this particular set of mods.
Very strange, never had an issue with the launcher before (been using it since it was first released) and I have no idea what change my have caused this recurring issue.
You can force Mods under the "Parameters" tab. Have you, by any chance, added any startup parameters to your arma 3 executable? Have you tried exporting all your modsets as a backup and then deleting them in the launcher?
Thanks for the help, it seems I did indeed have the "Command line" parameter checked with a long string of pointers to the mods. Is that parameter line automatically filled somehow? Although it's possible I may have accidently clicked the checkbox at some point, I definitely never manually entered that long parameter line.
That parameter line is filled automatically with the Mods you have selected under the "Mods" tab. I cannot explain to you why your "Command Line" parameter got autofilled and checked, but I'd assume that's just a rare bug. Glad I could help!
I'm going to report my problem here, seems more fitting. my game worked fine without issue for 4k hours, and whilst i was editing a mission in eden it crashed. ever since, the game has been freezing on startup and not making any progress past the arma 3 splash screen. i have tried the following fixes:
-updated the drivers
-deleted cache.ch
-re-installed the game
-updated windows
-ran the game with malloc=system command
-launched the game with no background processes running
-started the game with "skip intro logos" off

Yes it is and there is no fix. The official services are not working properly / are not online atm. You'll have to wait until it's fixed. This will not prevent you from playing the game at all.
As is, it does not look very professional. If a fix is not possible than maybe remove a feature that does not function might be the better option than presenting it, makes new comers think it's a "ghost house".
That is true, however there's no official statement on the outage of ArmA Units afaik. I don't see any reason that a game that isn't actively developed anymore has to remove every feature that is broken.

If it takes more than 3 seconds to access units.arma3.com, then you can be sure it will actually timeout

Guys to be honest i dont know if this is the location to ask these questions, if not let me know and i'll change it.:
So im using Tadst for my server but i add 31 mods and the launcher transmits all the mods that the server has, after i add one more mod it doesnt transmit as well. But if i change one mod to another it shows again, like there is no problem with the mods and i wanted to add at least more 5 mods and after 31 mods the launcher doesn't transmit more data, how do i make it transmit all the data ?

Hey all, don't really know if this is the right place to ask with a server issue. I currently have a server set up on Arma 3 with a custom workshop addon. When I have a friend join the server through the launcher, I would expect the launcher to be able to automatically subscribe to the addon through the "setup mods" feature. However, it does not provide an option for subscribing to the addon via workshop. It leaves it up to the user to find the addon. In the workshop addon's meta.cpp, I do have a publishedid option as specified in the Arma 3 wiki. Currently unsure on how to fix this issue. Thanks

hi guys i need help because i can't find a way to do it, how i allocate more ram memory to arma? i enabled memory allocator in the launcher but now what do i do? i have 32 gb of ram and 6vram and would like to allocate some more to arma 3 while playing
btw i selected the default intel tbb allocator
the OS / allocator manages distribution of memory. arma takes as much as it needs. same for VRAM

oh alright, then are there some options to do to increase fps from launcher? i have a 1660 super and a ryzen 5 3600, for now i enabled all thread extra options and instead of 1 cores i allocated 2
cause normal game goes kinda well with vanilla options, but modding decreases the fps so i started watching vids to change some options
just do not touch the parameters at all. the OS knows what it has to do.

You could also just not set the option and Arma automatically chooses what it thinks is best (taking all your cores)

weird question. So i redownloaded arma a week or so ago, and i tried to download some new mods to try. But when I load arma from the launcher it only loads me to the boheima presents page and then freezes. everysingle time i load from the launcher it does this, but when i DONT use the launcher the game loads but without the downloaded mods??. you might get 80FPS in single player, but in multiplayer it's gonna be for server A: 35FPS, server B: 48FPS, server C: 57FPS server D: 15FPS, and so on...

CPU (single core clock) > RAM (High speed, low CL timing) > GPU (anything since RTX is basically trowing money out a window) > drive (SSD over HDD)
never build a rig just for one game. build a rig that lasts you at least 4-5y for gaming

Has there been any reported issues about the launcher's "command line" option under parameters sometimes being enabled without reason? I've had it 3-4 times now where that command line option has mysteriously been enabled without me doing it and I don't know what causes it to sometimes happen.
I'm not sure. If you leave it blank, whether its enabled will not make a difference in game though.
Using a GT 1030, i5 3450, 4GB of RAM, Windows 10 64 bit, ARMA 3 on an HDD. And it tops around 35-40 FPS

Update: disabling the anti aliasing (2x, 4x, 8x, etc) makes the FPS jump from 35-40 to maximum 52 in some terrains, and 40-45 in terrains that need a lot of gpu work (looking at the sand or the sky gives it a 60)

For more information - Your profile is saved to a cloud storage service that is not running when you tried to start arma.
There are two ways to solve this - One, open onedrive or your other cloud storage and leave them running while you play.
Or two - open your cloud storage and right click on the Arma folder in your documents folder, and click "Always keep on this device". This method will prevent it offloading your save games to save space, and will prevent this in the future.
The method of saving to your device I provided is for onedrive, it might be different for services such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
I have a problem with the launcher; I'll click the yellow play button, but nothing will happen. It'll also make the noise associated with a pop-up you have to acknowledge when I click, but there is no visible pop-up or button to press.

Hi I'm having a problem with the mod "Hatchet H-60 pack - Development Version" It is saying it is Corrupted and I have Deleted the mod folder re subscribed and restarted steam and Verified files and its still corrupted I went to the mod discord and they were unable to help me so now I am here.

Then redownloading might not fix your problem
If it doesn't, go to the .workshop folder in Arma installation folder (it's hidden, so you must enable Show Hidden Files in Explorer)
Find the symlinked folder and delete it (folder name is similar to the name of the mod on workshop, probably starting with @)
Next, get the mod ID (from workshop page address), go the the steam workshop folder and delete the folder (whose name is the mod ID)
This may be a better place to ask since this is the Launcher specific section. But, since the 24th of April I have been unable to load any mod presets downloaded from the 24th and onwards, I have attempted to Verify my Files, Reinstall the game, and Restart my PC with no luck. I seem to be the only one having this issue but I would still like it to be fixed anywho, if anyone could provide assistance, I would be extremely appreciative. Thanks!

Hey all. Is there a way to auto-start a mission in the launcher? I thought I had done this before or read about it years ago, but I can't seem to find it. I can auto-load the mission, but auto-start would just save another step, I guess. When testing a vehicle over and over it gets slightly annoying doing that one extra step every time.
You can add a mission file in your Arma Launcher. It's under "Parameters > All Parameters > Basic". That should be what you are searching for.
No I was trying to be even more lazy than that by having the mission start right away, but thank you.
Is there a way to open the diag exe through the launcher? I see this was asked about by Polpox two years ago, but I don't see any support for it yet.
One easiest way is rename the diag exe into arma3_x64.exe

Hello, a friend has just uploaded a mod to the workshop, and we're trying to add it to our server. the key is on the server and the launcher shows the server requiring the mod, but it doesn't automatically obtain the mod like others...it shows in red "Choose Action" instead...might anyone know what could be wrong? did we upload the mod to the workshop wrong somehow?

Since i download Reforger and played with a suspicious moddpack on arma 3 (crashed the game btw) after that i just closed normally arma and switch off my pc. since that my launcher still said my game is open but its actually not ! Check your Arma parameters
If everything's normal, try repairing the game
I'm not sure how the launcher detects that the game is running
If it's if it's via process name then maybe that suspicious mod injected your PC with a program that runs on startup and pretends its Arma

hi, i was playing arma and my headset suddenly unpluged, i reconected the headset and since then i cant get audio to play when i launch the game trough launcher, if i launch it directly trough game files audio works but i dont get mod support and battleye so i cannot play multiplayer or mods, i set everything as administrator, backwards compatible, reseted output, reseted in-game settings, reinstaled the game, disabled mods everything i could think of but nothing :(

Not sure what you mean exactly with "modpacks in the files". If you subscribe to a collection of mods in Steam, then they will be downloaded individually by the launcher when you start it. It will end up in your Steam Library on your disk somewhere like : SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop. There is a folder for where it temporarily stores it while downloading. Once finished it ends up in a content folder, and a subsequent folder inside it using the ModID number used by Steam. Those number ModID folders will be symbolically linked inside the hidden Arma_rootfolder/!Workshop. It will show the proper name of the mod as filename.

When you load in the serverbrowser it starts contacting those servers for a ping request. That might be throttled by your firewall or virusscanner. Or simply be too much for your computer to handle at that short period.

I suggest you verify the game in Steam. This should not happen. Uninstall and reinstall perhaps if verification does not solve it. Does this happen with other games too? Or just Arma 3 (launcher)?

kat is probably KAT medical. Message usually means that the PBO prefix wasn't set correctly when the mod was built. I don't know if you've rebuilt this mod yourself or what.
Possibly you're loading two mods with the x/kat prefix that are incompatible.
For the record, i think it could be just about any mod or script trying to use that file path, but it makes sense to look at whatever the KAT mod is first.
