You basically have 3 kinds of friendly AI. Garrison attached to a map marker, your own squad AI, and high command units.

High command then most likely. Not entirely sure. But select them, then open Y-menu, there should be a button to get them to embark/disembark from a vehicle. But I only know the Community version of Antistasi. Never played much of anything in Barbolani's or others.

Yes, perfectly possible. Some missions are build around DLC, specifically if they use the terrain that comes with it. So you may need to be picky in which servers you choose, or what missions to subscribe to. But there are other terrains found in the workshop so you are not limited with the 3 basegame terrains Altis, Stratis, Malden 2035 (free dlc). Many communities play with entirely basegame and modded content.

Depends on what money you have. It comes with new terrain (jungle island), 2 campaigns. New gear. It opens possiblities for other scenarios. So yes, but depends if you can spend.

Apex edition (as apart of the Apex DLC alone) is considere the best bang for your buck.

In the older games you could see all radio commands, for instance "4" was mount and so on.
I've tested this in ARMA III and it works if I press 4 but, it doesn't actually show "4" in the commands menu.

The person hosting the game needs to do port forwarding in his router. Either you hope the UPnP feature works to do it automatically. Or you log in to the router and manually port forward the UDP port range 2302-2306 to your computer's IPv4 address. Also make sure Arma 3 can receive inbound data through the firewall.

I would recommend getting each DLC for it's own reasons really

1. Jets DLC

• Gives you access to Blackwasp, Shikra, Gryphon, which are all amazing jets, that are fun to play (saying that as person who mainly flies helos and can't really fly any jets)
• Gives you access to UCAV Sentinel

2. Helicopters DLC

• Gives you access to Huron and Taru, both pretty good helicopters (especially Taru, which is underrated massively)
• Gives you access to Taru Transport Box, that you can use as respawn point for players in Zeus games

3. Tanks DLC (personally my favourite out of those 3)

• Gives you access to T-140 Angara, T-140K Angara, Rhino MGS and Rhino MGS UP, and many different Nyx'es
• A very good DLC if you are into tanks/tankettes or play Warlords

If you want, I can do bigger breakdown on each piece of equipment unlocked with each DLC

There are showcases for that. Small missions to introduce yourself with them. Or the VR Arena, where you can even test out DLC vehicles. And there is the editor, where you can just throw out your desired vehicle and a player character and start playing it.

Each faction in the game also has a showcase area where all their stuff is on display and you can use.

@lavish dome my recommendation if you want to improve the experience of interacting with AI is LAMBS, LAMBS Suppression, Suppress, and Immerse. You’re gonna need to modify immerse to your likings because some people don’t like all the effects but imo it makes engagements feel a lot more “weighty”

Ultimately different mods will do different things. Even scenarios will change it. I’m a big fan of Antistasi’s AI
