Ok, another brilliant idea, when you see an IR laser coming from hostile CAS for a laser guided bomb, throw an IR grenade.

It's auto track will throw off the bomb.

Those work better with mods that simulate it. In real terms, these lasers are not just SACLOS guided, but use frequenzy modulation and other methods to make sure the bomb is following the "right" target. In arma 3, that is simply the target you choose, and it cant be tricked by throwing an ir nade

vanilla factions do variation between soldier type mostly by swapping the vest

like grenadier and MG guy have their own vest

Uniforms vary as well. Excluding CSAT, leader-type classes and grenadiers across the factions often wear outfits that have rolled up sleeves. On the other hand, medics and other support classes like engineers just wear the shirt/tee versions of their regular uniform.

Then you've got officers who wear more formal dress fatigues, as well as snipers with their ghillie jackets.

Just look at the LDF for a good balance of variety. They've got everything from rolled up uniforms, t-shirts for support units, sweaters for military police, CBRN suits for the scientists, etc. Ironically, the only thing they lack is a ghillie version of their default uniform.

It's PMC, not a "regular armed force". Nothing makes sense, they use / aquire whatever they can get their hands on and also pay for it.

Well unfortunately (?) Arma 3 is not a GnR thingy, in fact this game offers no jump gameplay mechanic. If you carry heavy, it fatigues your player character as well, don't expect 360 noscope-ish high-speed gameplay but “terribly” slow game

If you want my honest opinion

I have never noticed that I’m missing any DLCs, I have the essential pack or something like that

But whatever is missing in terms of DLCs can usually be made up for in mods, which is what most units use anyway(units are probably the “best” gameplay) Get the base game, if u like it and don’t want to mod it/play on vanilla servers, I recommend the DLCs, but if you’re like me and don’t really play vanilla you’ll never notice

The bare minimum that MOST people recommend is apex edition, Apex really does add some cool stuff
