The CDLC should have a menu option to revert to the normal Arma 3 user interface. But you still get all the gear/units/vehicles available from the CDLC.

Excite that right braincell some more, because you can play helicopters in Arma 3 without feeling locked behind a paywall. Whoever made the scenario, or whoever chose to run the scenario on the server, put you behind the paywall by not providing alternative helicopters that are free from the basegame.

Well, Pilgrimage is a great sp story, and modded on several maps, add a few other mods for factions and you get a great amount of gameplay, trust me, I have done mission in the past (really wanting to clear the entire map of warlords/bases) and it got me 24hours of gameplay 😅

drop bombs from higher altitude or use drag bombs - they have special "airbrakes" at the end causing them to hit the target when you are far from the impact zone (not aviable in vanilla)

for better view on target you can use the target camera - not the HUD

the little cross shows you where the bomb will hit

unfortunately no anti radiation missiles in vanilla, otherwise you use them to hit the antiair from safe distance but they can fight this by turning off the radar and moving to another position

if manpads is the problem, stay on altitude more than 2 km, so when they shoot you have time to deploy flares/evade

in A-164 you can set automatic flares every 2 sec. always deploy this before you enter the target zone

If it’s base game you might have something in your loadout that isn’t in your faction, and the loadout won’t save

Laggy in fps means less frames per second. More slideshow than fluid animation.

Laggy in terms of ping means delayed actions. Things happening noticeably later than one would expect to be immediate. Shot fired, body doesn't fall to the ground immediately but (a fraction of a second) later. Players hopping around as they move forward, maybe even step back in position.

Sure, always test. But it will not be the Holy Grail of FPS. If you get better FPS in ages because of this, don't ruin it by increasing the render distance a lot (beyond reasonable)

You need a scenario that makes use of those mods. So check what is mentioned in the scenario description about supported mods.
